Yes, we may as well drop all pretense of a functioning Fourth Estate and make it an official government service.
The Messiah 2.0 -- "I am concerned that if the direction of the news is all blogosphere, all opinions, with no serious fact-checking, no serious attempts to put stories in context, that what you will end up getting is people shouting at each other across the void but not a lot of mutual understanding," he said.
In other words, the bloggers are NOT cooperating with our agenda of lies, deceit, corruption, misinformation, etc., unlike our lackeys in the U.S. Goobermint-controlled print media, so we must protect our information outlets with taxpayer assistance.
All Hail The Messiah!

Translation:
"I'm concerned about how the news is reported, so I'm here to provide a bailout to mainstream media."
"Even though I realize that my MSM friends have yet to figure out how to run their own business models in the digital age, we must preserve traditional media because the blogosphere doesn't bother to present the truth in truthful terms."
Yeah, that's it... let's write a blank check to preserve institutions that have been too lazy and too tied in politically to follow up on issues that have real world relevance (there are a few exceptions).
Perhaps the people don't want or need "mutual understanding" when it comes to reporting the news. Maybe the American people just want to hear the cold, hard truth. The "shouting" comes because MSM isn't really doing it's job very well.
And for the upteenth time, we are getting REALLY TIRED of bailing out institutions that are not doing their jobs very well. It's really that simple...
CNBC have Mandy back on prime again they must be really nervous about those falling key demo figs
Dennis kneale must be sick as a parrot!
The president said he is "happy to look at" bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses.
Wow, sounds like something I can get behind. Little known fact, lately I have been a non profit and am willing to restructure to receive money.

Is Obotomy making a down payment on the 2010 and 2012 elections?
Where as Chavez pays his friends to shut down his MSM opposition....
Obotomy, like a rich self-indulgent frat boy, has to fork out moola to keep his enablers in the MSM alive....
Reminds me of the Mike Tyson tragedy, once the $300 million was spent, all his friends scurried away like roaches when the light is truned on.
Ah, ya gotta love it, it's the American way!
