NIA is a pump and dump scam. This film did for hyper-inflation what "The Day After Tomorrow" did for global warming...It's all bullshit.

China would never announce their intent to stop buying treasuries. That would be fucking crazy and immediately evaporate whatever dollars they hold. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot.

Tyler and the ZeroHedge Staff,

You cheapen your reporting buy referencing the NIA. Go ahead, sign up for their mailing list. You'll get "suggestions" on what penny stocks to buy. Gee thanks NIA, so you can dump them after the jump 25 cents. Fuck you. What the fuck do penny stocks have to do with Hyper-Inflation? Nothing, they're using the fear of hyper-inflation to generate a mailing list of people to pump stocks to.

We're screwed. The Fed is clueless and supposed "alternative media" like the NIA want to scam us. That's how fucking sorry this country is. I wish I could teleport to a different time because present day American is PATHETIC.

Exactly.  And the worst thing is, their material is often posted by people who believe that hyperinflation is coming, and that behavior makes everyone who truly believes in it look like a charlatan.

In situations like this, you must look at the credibility of the source, and if it is bad, as it is in this case, you must throw it out.  You can NOT be tempted to use it as evidence to the contrary.

You see, contrarianism only works until your contrarian indicator figures out that he has power over markets, and will merely reverse his calls to move the markets.  This is the case with Goldman's calls a few months ago, and likely has been the case with Cramer.

I cannot fault vison victory or NIA. These punks put out some good vids / info. They have a biz to operate like everyone else, but I do not doubt their integrity, nor their genuine concern for the American economy / currency.

I disagree that the piece 'cheapened' the reporting done here. It's a blog, and I enjoy the wider variety of items posted then other financial news sites.

I thought the video was an interesting thought experiment with decent production values. Do I think that's the way it will play out? No. But it was worth my seven minutes invested.

I'd rather have a couple of these sorts of items every now and then - than not. Even if done from a less then credible source, I didn't need to buy anything or be on any mailing list to watch.

Similarly, I enjoyed the SEIU sponsored Where's the Note post, and have passed that campaign along to more then a few people - many of whom were more likely to participate based upon the SEIU sponsorship.

Variety of 'reporting' is good.

Hey, these NIA vids get better production all the time and this one is pretty slick.

The way I see it, most people need a message like this; Short, Overly Dramatic, Slick Production... If they are going to get in en masse...

Think Glen Beck. He might be an idiot, but if he were a stock, there would be people in here buying him (flinchinly) because of his charts...

That is what the public can digest... Don't give them tabular fact, they will go catatonic on ya...

Your personal feelings about the NIA aside, we all know that most of the analysis here is valid. They picked one of the more unlikely possibilities as their precipitating event. But, with China and Russia announcing today that they will not be trading with the world's reserve currency anymore, I'm not ready to cast the NIA aside as "bullshit". There are many scenarios that could cause an avalanche scenario to finally commence in earnest. I think war-gaming them all out out to get a better idea of what it might look like makes a lot of sense. I for one, would like to have a chance to duck the first barrage and have some ideas as to what to do next after that. The more people do it, the better off we will be in the end

One tends to get a lot of usable information from less than upstanding folks (not saying NIA is not upstanding) you just have to check it out.

All the NIA stuff I have seen is overly dramatic, but generally correct as far as I have seen. They actually go out and document street level decay to back up some of their claims. Yes, I know how easy it is to tragedy shop but they are out there...

I don't subscribe to their newsletter, and I wouldn't consider owning stocks of any type for lots of reasons. Mostly because I like to "Own" stuff and not paper. I know I miss out on a lot of money, as people rub it in all the time. But I sleep good knowing that what I own is very unlikely to dissapear if idiots in Washington or wall st. blow us up.

Darkmath,

You are 100% correct on NIA and the "pump and dump".  Don't let the 18 junks bother you.  That was Tyler's male secretary making 18 trips to warm his coffee but he kept forgetting the vaseline and surgical glove.  You might notice Tyler also likes gold a lot.  It seems to jive coincidentally well with the advertising.  As for Tyler's trading book, well, you get 2 guesses on that.  The only thing more pathetic than this post is Tyler acting like he takes Keiser's silver campaign against JPMorgan seriously.  Since Tyler likes to take cheap shots against the SEC and rarely mentions former Republican Senator Phil Gramm's sodomization of the SEC,  I wonder what year Tyler will be talking about this story (See link)????

How's NIA better than Micheal chertoff? Everything is for personal gains, just to rip off common people who already lost their shirts and pants. At this time, we need people like Ralph Nader to bring true liberty and prosperity to this Country through his idealistic/realistic views.

It is not my intention to go off on a tangent, but I have to comment on your last line there. Liberty is not something that can be brought to you. You have to seek it out. You have to call bullshit on anyone who would make any move to limit your freedom. Are you opting out of the body-scanners based on principal? This is not something that will be fixed by electing a different ilk. Elections are charades these days anyway. We have to fix this from the ground up. My advice is to decouple with the system to whatever extent is feasible for you and your family. Then put your money into something that will be productive in the future.

I'm sure the Fed sings dirges in the dark

A long long time ago
I can still remember,
how those forecasts used to make me smile
And I knew if I had Ben's chance
That I could make those numbers dance
And maybe we'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper Ben delivered
Bad news on our doorstep
Were at the cliff, now take a step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about this cyanide
But something touched me deep inside
The day the bond holders died

{Refrain}

So, why why, did America die?
bailed out chevys and banker heavies
now my coffers are dry
And good old boys were drinkin' young blood with a sigh
Singin' this'll be the day that I lie
This'll be the day that I lie

I liked Rawles book(s) He knows his shit and doesn't play the pollyanna. Most folks in here would find his stuff a bit disturbing as it is a little to "in detail" about some rather sticky subjects like cannibals and shit like that... Haha..

I still like Lucifers Hammer the best of all the Survival type books I have read.

Lucifers Hammer took a long time to get going, but I really liked the last half of the book.  Another good one that was available online for a long time was "Lights Out" (an EMP disaster book).  Very well written, and was supposed to be published in hard copy soon.  "One Second After" was one everybody should take the time to read.

Yeah, I read "Lights Out" a year or so ago, 400 pages over a weekend looking at my computer monitor.  It was excellent as well.  I tried to find it again not long ago, but the site where I read it before only had the first half of the book...

My take on who-will-survive up-porn... looks white-unfriendly, but is not meant to be, just the turning of wheels as I see them.

An excerpt...

A look at the last 500 years or more of world history will show that many more red, black, brown, yellow and sundry other hued peoples died at the hands or the wits of the white men than the other way around. In fact, while I can present no numbers, I’m sure the ratio would be staggering.
If you throw in direct consequences of white on colour actions (Buffalo Slaughter, Forced Language conversion, forced religious conversion, divide and rule, small pox in blankets, the grind-you-into-the-dust-rial revolution and all it’s associated horrors, chemical/literal/figurative/cultural pollution…..the list is long and odorous/onerous), it becomes staggeringly clear that the white population (in proportion) has grown all out of proportion to it’s original carrying capacity.
We always speak of absolute numbers in population statistics, whereas the real numbers that matter are relative.

Now a population of any space is supported by a certain natural resource smorgasboard, suited to because it sprang from the local, could naturally support a certain, limited population. Nature, left to her own devices, understands balance, or it would/could not be.
Which skin colour, if you could be so objective, has grown all out of proportion to it’s available resource base?
Of course and without a doubt, the world’s white population. To deny that even momentarily, is to deny an obvious, slap-in-your-face reality.
May I suggest this site for some in-sight…
http://www.globalchange.umich.edu/globalchange2/current/lectures/human_pop/human_pop.html#Past
But even there, you cannot see the dis-proportionate rise of the white population as a percentage of world population, especially accounting for the fact of their original, natural environment’s Carrying Capacity, over the past 500 years, especially since the start of the industrial revolution.

For the rest:

Interesting perspective, ORI. But, knowing the minds of the oligarchs, and assuming a few other geopolitical factors, I beg to differ.

I do see the imminent subjugation of the west to the status of cotton-pickers and prison work-camp inmates, but I also see a concerted effort, over a slightly longer timescale, to worldwide population reduction. It's in their plans; it makes sense from both planetary survival and management perspectives; and, they have the means and the will. I expect the means to be biological rather than the oft-touted nuclear winter.

Just my 2 rupees. Peace. :)

i-Dog, we are actually in complete agreement.

I think we are entering a massive, fractal reversion to the mean. That would mean reductions in all populations due to the factors you mention (Georgia Guide-stones/Eugenics/Vaccination and all). My core issue was relative numbers.

The white wave decimated many populations to almost extinction levels. White populations are currently in decline due entirely to weird socio-economic-cultural factors. The Indias, Chinas, Bangladeshs, Malaysias et. al. of the world are much better suited to survive the biological winter you speak of though, wouldn't you agree? Not so much the majority of the white world, softened by generations of prosperity, built on the backs of indigenous/imported populations and colonized resources.

You cannot eat aircraft carriers, bullets and missiles, except to your extreme detriment, ne?

Hmm seems to me that unemployment was much lower before our current depression. I do believe that the Major indices where at much higher levels. Home values where much higher. Car sales were about 16 mill instead of the current 13 mil. We were creating 200,000 jobs a month. Now we have to rely on the birth death model to show any job growth. Yep we are in a raging bull market.

When reading the otherwise rosy stories in the mainstream media, the
most glaringly simplistic and attention grabbing subsegments of which
continue to proclaim the recession over, while conveniently ignoring
that despite $4 trillion in monetary and fiscal stimuli
underemployment is at 17%, foodstamp recipients are at all time highs
(but who cares about that social stratum), discretionary purchases are
continuing to be funded primarily from millions of delinquent homeowners
who refuse to pay their mortgage (now on average between 18 and 24
months behind), companies are refusing to hire, capex spending is at all
time lows, banks are hoarding cash for the imminent perfect MBS
putback storm, commodity price inflation is threatening to collapse
profit and net income margins, half of Europe is locked out from capital
markets, rampant Chinese inflation is threatening to recreate Tianenman
square, investors are pulling cash from markets for 29 weeks in a row,
hardship withdrawals from 401(k)s surging, and the muni mess is one
political decision from an avalanche of city and state defaults, one may
be excused to have a comparable simplistic perspective of the economy.
After all stocks are up. Which of course is precisely the response that
Bernanke is hoping to elicit from these same simplistic interpreters of
economic and market data, who are next supposed to take money procured
from selling newsletters and other top and bottom-line declining
products, and buy (Chinese) trinkets they don't need. It is these same
people who will also conveniently ignore the sad reality that America's
small business find themselves increasingly in: and for the most vivid
example of this is the latest Reuters report which informs that small
business are now calling of Christmas en mass. "The 2010 holiday season represents the worst
slump since the firm began polling 22 years ago, she said. Of 103
leading businesses queried, those holding a celebration of any kind fell
to 79 percent, down from 81 percent both last year and the year before,
during the height of the economic recession."
Obviously Wall
Street is not among those polled: the country's bankers are preparing to
spend over $140 billion in compensation this year. Good luck booking a
restaurant, club or lounge in New York in the next month.
