Deepish Thoughts From Chase Coleman

Tyler Durden's picture

The Tiger discloses some core holdings: DirecTV, Google, Priceline, Mastercard, Visa, Apollo Group (nothing surprising there - the VIC momo crowd's first and last loves); disclosed shorts: Financials. Also included are some other musings.

I wish some of the Tiger guys would eventually go into government a la Goldman.  Probably to smart to do so but would kill to have someone espouse those self reflecting managerial thoughts in our govt.

What a bunch of BS.  I can't believe people put money in the hands of momos like these.  They know about as much as the average guy on the street.  All these "stock pickers" will sooner or later go down as the HFT guys and the big hedge-funds like Blackstone/Goldman crowd swallow them up after a long bleed.

The whole thing is a fixed market and a waste of time.  Stop gazing at the flickering lights and do something that actually improves the world.

Did you see the long-term returns...

29% annual avg return before fees
22% annual avg return after fees

Last 7-10 years. How you doing?

What is the BS? This guy has achieved outstanding returns for his investors over the past several years. What exactly are you trying to argue here?

Yeah, it also seems like they are well in green across the last 3 recession years. Isn't it what "hedge" means. If you want SP500, there is an ETF.

Replace "Stock Pickers" with "Nose Pickers" or "Ass-Pickers"!

MA, GOOG and PCLN, huh? Wow, that's some insighful "stock-picking" based on FCF analysis right there. What about BIDU, FCX, ISRG and rest of the whores chased by the momos?

They threw a Hail Mary in Q4 and it worked, bringing them back to even. Luck + chasing momentum = only things that work.
