And I thought the Sanford letters were going to be the funniest thing posted here this afternoon. Oops...

The moving average data is directly in conflict with Dr. Hussman pointed out today; the charts are very limited in terms of trending covering 4 months. This is actually embarrassing for the viewer but the question is is it more embarrassing for the bozos who did it.

Could someone tell me what % of GDP is attributed to commercial construction (all inclusive, commercial, multi-family, industrial)?

I just had lunch with the head of financing for one of the largest real estate financing boutiques and one of the largest Freddie servicers. Absolutely frightening what he had to say and his outlook. Forget about CRE rollover defaults for a moment (the only positive - he seems to indicate that a lot of money mandated for equity is going to be mandated for debt because there will be rollover deals, think 7-9% in the current rate environment). I hope no one in the economy is planning on business coming from this sector after 2011, because the pipeline is dry across the country.

Big fat W people.

It seems to me the guy is basing his assumptions on cheap capital. It's one way to keep the asset prices inflated.
This guy could reasonably have come to 'a new understanding' with Freddie's reps regarding non-specific economic plans going forward.

Otherwise, I'd be very interested to hear from others just how this kind of bullish sentiment is possible. That's a serious question that deserves some legitimate thought.

I may be bearish, but I don't want to be stubborn about it.

Dennis the Menace. Actually and strictly from a technical point of view, he is probably right. The chances are Q4 will be positive because of the comparisons, which means the recession ends.

What was the name of that Iraqi minister of truth? Dennis reminds me of him. (Baghdad Bob?) Notice, thought, that Dennis doesn't say anything about objective information. He says "emotions", "feelings", etc., many times. Oy vey.

CNBC claims the great recession is over. It very well may be, but what about the depression?

This guy is a total jerk. I remember when the US house of representatives voted down the TARP the first time. He was on a CNBC panel bitterly complaining and wishing the stock market would collapse to show the stupid American people that they should support the TARP. I will never forget it!!! What an A#$hole.

Hmmm....Dennis Kneale ought to look at a S&P weekly 3 yr and see the big ass trendline we smacked into 20 times today yet couldnt break thru on the pissly low volume of today. We closed on that line so my hunch is tomorrow....unless we find 1 trillion in old civil war gold....we close red decent tomorrow.

Watching Kneale, and worse yet having to listen, is like seeing a 350 lb woman in a thong bikini on the beach - I don't know if I should laugh, cry or throw up. Maybe I'll do all three

How has this douche become a headliner on CNBC! No one can stand him. He makes my skin crawl.. Does he even know what he is actually talking about. He's calling out a 'bull market' based on consumer sentiment!? Idiot! Is the market falling off of a cliff? Maybe not.. But things are looking quite gloomy for the next few years to say the least!

In all seriousness, I'd wonder I'd love to see this guy's portfolio activity. Did he really backed up the truck after he finished filming this nauseating segment

I had the good fortune of being CNBS free for more than 5 years now....until today. After reading here on ZH that this tool Dennis Kneale called the recession in the US officially over, I had to check out his new show.

I couldn't believe my damn eyes and ears.

Dennis K punked ZH by name right out the gate, saying that ZH was planning on being on the show but cancelled because "he had a bad day."

OUCH.

"Fading level of fear"

Yeah, Dennis finally found out what the VIX is, when he had to ask on air.

Dennis. Your an anchor. Your a cheerleader. That's all. Quit being the next Tom Cruise, and stop believing your own air time.

"There's this thing called 50 day moving average"

ROFLOLPMP

He sounds like like a rookie newb trader who thinks he's discovered the keys of the trading universe.

"With feeling ..." Good lord dude. The cheerleading is hilarious. He sounds more rediculous than Steve Liesman.

"Remember, you heard it here first"

Oh ... oh ... I'll remember Dennis. I've downloaded this video, and saved it under my little folder that says "INSANE"
