"Apple" is what happened. They released the iPad, and have agreements with a bunch of publishing houses to sell books through the iTunes Store directly to the iPad.

I think they'll pass a new stimulus bill to fix that.

It's good that AMZN stays around. It acts as a clear reminder of the cowboy days of the internet bubble: down $10 after hours, no problem, $12 bounce in 15 minutes.

Wait, BBerg was looking for 1.07 but I/B/E/S looking for .72. so, probably inline for the quarter. Sounds more like an analysts missed this one. 40X probably is a steal for this stock. Such is life.

When it first went public, they had bloggers convince the new generation of internet traders to short it, all the while controlling the relatively miniscule float absolutely--all that leading to an ability to send the price to whatever artificial level they desired, and thus pawn off $4 billion worth of bonds, giving them enough time to make the business work.
Think you could eventually make a successful business if someone gave you $4 billion and said "see if you can come up with an idea"?
