That is what some market makers on the NYSE did to cause the flash crash. They went dark and got the desired effect, as for RBS going dark, if RBS goes dark does anyone care?

I ripped all deposits from Charter One (a wholey owned RBS sub) and explained that I was removing core deposits because of RBS and theirrespective banking association lobbying in the open against the Fed audit. I also explained that I would be back for my company's deposits as well. Being on the board of the company has its perks I guess.
The manager didn't seem to care about my measly deposits, but turned pale when I explained what company would be pulling deposits away from them because of this.

Hard to say. Many of the people that I have been talking to about what has been going on as I see it (thanks to ZH even though Marla was not happy with my default on a JP Morgan credit card (I still love her/him/it)) just glazed over. Now, they ask me what they can do to help stop this. The owner of this company was extremely happy that I pointed him to gold around $800 and our current retirement manager despises me.
