Dick Bove Cuts Goldman Price Target From $200 To $182
For the three dumbest money mutual fund managers who still listen to this "analyst", this is probably news. He also cuts the company's EPS estimates. The four main risks he sees to GS are: European debt situation, weak current business environment, lack of formal regulation bill, and SEC civil lawsuit. And that's all the time we'll dedicate to Dick "Buy Lehman" Bove.

In what dimension will GS go to 182 this year?
The dimension we just left.
What a Snake! Trashed my July $275 Calls.
(Muttering under breath; "Maybe better never listen to him again, he was so good till now.")
time to end this whole farcional reserve banking charade
Dick "At $15 Lehman is a screaming buy!!!!" Bove. Wow, can't say I'm shocked.
I wonder if he believes his own bullshit. Or maybe he just forgets his predictions immediately after he makes them, so he never has any sense of how abysmal they are.
as a human being, if shame does not exist to that person, nothing really matters.
Shame is in very short supply on Wall Street and in Washington, D.C.
I cut Dick Bove's target price to "zero" a long time ago.
He owes a lot of people money. Those two Richards. More like Slick Willies.
That's all you got, Dick? Only those four? Wonder what Fuld thinks.
I'd like to cut Dick Bove...in half
Obviously Bove expects them to see earnings deterioration due in part to being able to commit less fraud in the upcoming quarters.
moral of the story "Don't be a Dick"
+1
I disagree. No one listens to this dimwit, not even the dumbest 3 mutual fund managers.
waste of IP band width
In a later interview one can clearly see Bove with a cast on his leg. When the interviewer asked how the injury occured Bove stated he stepped into his ass and twisted his ankle. He was quickly corrected by someone off camera who pointed out that that it was not his ass he stepped into but, in fact, was a hole in the ground. At that point Bove laughs and states, "I get those two confused all the time."
He also cut Citi from "buy of the century" to "buy of the half-century," lowering his target from $50 a share to $49.99.
Dick Bove is a douchebag, rivaled only by Jim O'Neill.
someone should cut bove off air and queue him in on the unemployment and food stamp lines
To the list of risks, I would add prolonged and deep sell-off of all risk assets, i.e. MBS, corporate bonds, interest rates swaps, equities, soft commodities, base metals and resulting counterparty risk. IOW, I don't think the FICC miracle that they've been touting will continue.
I still remember Bove and his pumping Lehman. His mother must be really proud of him.
His Dad introduced me to his Mom once. Nice little old lady, about 101 and believe it or not, pregnant! Saw him a couple of weeks later and asked how she was. Said she died, but they saved the baby.
When junk bonds go (and spreads blew wide today), then hello double dip
He should co-host Mad Money with his buddy Jimbo...
Bove: dines with Prince Alwaleed
Dick Bove's only rival is Cramer. I can't figure out which one is the stupidest.
Some of the Fast Money pumpers are just as bad. Joe "buy everything in the world" Terranova comes to mind.
Yes there is some stiff competition.
do reverse splits count as reaching your PT?
Why downgrade and upgrade goldman. They are the epitome of too much or nothing. Either it's going to be 280 or it's going to be jail.
His name isn't even Richard Bove. They just call him "Dick" because it fits. I just thought of something, Harry Wanker's on the right side of the trade again, g'dammit!!
So when Goldman gets to 90, he will lower his estimate to 160 or something like that. Both Bloomberg and CNBC treat him like a god. After that Lehman call, how can they even have him on. It's like Abbey the stock market is going to the moon Cohen. Goldman had to demote her before CNBC stopped having her on, though she still shows up once and a while. Don't know why since she seems to me to always be wrong.
The best call still has to be "the financial crisis is over" in March 2008 just after Bear collapsed. God I love that one.
Why can't we solve the energy crisis by attaching this bag of gas to a pipe?
One of the reddest days of the year and GS was ZOMBIE green most the day on another "settlement" RUMOR. Makes one wonder if "Buy Dick" generated this little rumor before selling some of HIS shares - the world will never know, nor even care apparently.
