Did 9/11 Really "Change Everything"?
We've been told that 9/11 changed everything.
Is it true?
Let's look:
- The decision to launch the Iraq war was made before 9/11. Indeed, former CIA director George Tenet said that the White House wanted to invade Iraq long before 9/11, and inserted "crap" in its justifications for invading Iraq. Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill - who sat on the National Security Council - also says that Bush planned the Iraq war before9/11. And top British officials say that the U.S. discussed Iraq regime change one month after Bush took office
- Cheney apparently even made Iraqi's oil fields a national security priority before 9/11
- The Patriot Act was planned before 9/11
- Cheney dreamed of giving the White House the powers of a monarch long before 9/11
- Cheney
and Rumsfeld actively generated fake intelligence which exaggerated the
threat from an enemy in order to justify huge amounts of military
spending long before 9/11. And see this
- Cheney and the rest of the neocons lamented - before 9/11 - that America could not truly project its power globally without the justification of a "new Pearl Harbor"
- The government's spying on Americans began before 9/11 (confirmed here and here. And see this)
- The decision to threaten to bomb Iran was made before 9/11
- The
government knew that terrorists could use planes as weapons -- and had
even run its own drills of planes being used as weapons against the
World Trade Center and other U.S. high-profile buildings, using REAL
airplanes -- all before 9/11
- The government heard the 9/11 plans from the hijackers' own mouths before 9/11

- It was known long before 9/11 that torture doesn't work to produce accurate intelligence, but is an effective way to terrorize people
So did 9/11 really "change everything"? Or was it simply an excuse to implement existing plans?

What, exactly, does this editorial have to do with money, investing and economics? If I want this kind of editorial I can go to Mother Jones or whatever for it. Please stick to investing and related topics, ZH.
It's well-documented that Roosevelt goaded Japan(and shit, Germany too, why not) in war because his policies were failing and the economy was going in a big tailspin AGAIN. Or that the British and other governments wanted their GOLD back from the Nazis? Or that the Rothchilds had exposure the France and the theft of gold and needed a bailout? Or that Germany was getting money supply back after WW1 and the Allies ridiculous war reparations that lead to Weinmar and Hitler?
It's always about the money. ALWAYS.
So, when the shit hit the fan, the US had to save it's economy and face by starting 2 wars.

1.5 "The decision to launch the Iraq war was made before 9/11" -- yeah, but.....they didn't. That you're itching for a provocation to do something that you'd like to do anyway is generally a reason that such provocations NEVER HAPPEN. If I hadn't figured this out in Junior High School, the casual bullying in High School might have ended with me in the hospital. This would only have had any relevance if, in fact, the US had launched the Iraq war before before 9/11.....otherwise it's a non-sequiter at best.
I should add that I'm usually a fan of GW. It's generally good to get stuff out there.
GW-This is a great consolidation of tinfoil hat accusations. I'm just stunned. the US is such a piece of dogcrap, it's hard to know where one wants to expatriate to. Frontline did a piece on George W Bush getting recruited to run because the Neocons wanted to capture Iraq and Iran for oil(and show the Muslim world who's Daddy.) You can imagine Rumsfeld when he was forced to leave-how he felt being considered a failure after attempting to run the US military like the Roman Army. Looks like Obama is OK with this too. Guantanamo? Still threatening Iran? Trade wars with China? How low can this US Government go? Destroying the middle class? Giving taxpayer wealth to cocksuckers like Buffet and we have to suck it up and "cope?"
Of course 911 was an inside job and when one realizes that, one also realizes that its purpose was to maintain the status quo.
1. There are contingency plans for all sorts of wars at the Pentagon -- they do 'em constantly to keep in practice. I'm sure there are plans for the invasion of Canada, updated quarterly.
2. Every major oil field is a national security priority, and has been since prior to the 70's. I had a teacher in High School ('70's) who mentioned potential oil near the Spratly Islands as being a concern during the Vietnam War.
3. The government is so large that beliefs and policies fill out the bell curve....meaning that someone is in the "tails" of extremism. Doesn't say much about the whole of the beast, just about the tail.
4. "Torture", like "violence", "shame", "brainwashing", or "chemical lobotomies", is a term that covers a range of meanings. It is true to say that "torture doesn't work" and simultaneously true to say that "torture works" -- it all depends on what sort of torture and what sort of circumstances.
I'm not saying that the US rivals St. Francis of Assisi in holiness and piety, but this sort of laundry list is a whole lot of "so, what?" The military exaggerates threats to secure better funding? Yeah, and shrinks exaggerate mental illness; social workers exaggerate starvation; the SEC exaggerates corporate fraud; the IRS exaggerates tax evasion; the DEA exaggerates addiction -- and, hey, guess what? The sun rose in the East this morning, too!
ZeroHedge is a great resource for seeing the actual mechanics of financial "haves" screwing the "have-nots"....but it's well documented. I'm not going to get excited about this sort of revelation unless (1) it's to my (net) detriment, and (2) it's actually something I wouldn't expect.

I'm always amazed that the left thinks a government that couldn't keep perfectly legal financial tracking programs secret could keep a massive conspiracy on this scale quiet. Newsflash people - the pentagon has contingency plans for invading damn near every country on earth. Newsflash people - lots of people in the government believed getting rid of Saddam was job 1 (most of them in the Democratic party) before Bush/Cheney were elected.

One thing that might be casually overlooked is that 9/11 occurred when it appeared that the U.S. dollar was set to appreciate substantially, after a long rise. In the Pacific Rim, military coups happen as a matter of course when currencies appreciate out of control. But, with the discovery of oil in the Gulf placing a dent in peak oil theory, and the continued decline of the dollar, everything that was implemented to usher in fascism as the true state was for nothing. Absolutely nothing.

You will then know the official story is indeed fishy and implicates those of both parties. The real truth will not come to you from a paragraph of sound-bites, or a flashy movie with absurd claims, but actual research.

My theory is that just about everyone on Team B is/was a secret admirer of the Nazis, jews included. They love all that saluting and the cool uniforms. Cheney's the classic "dictatorship is the best form of government if you get the right dictator" type. The disease of these people has destroyed America almost completely now. I don't think we'll ever return to the era of possibility. We're just winding things down now before the liquidators show up.

The events of 9/11, as well as the subsequent cover-up and continuing exploitation by various state, corporate and private entities, the so called powers that be, were and continue to be a key and central moment in American history. We'll still be suffering from, as well as unravelling, the effects of this staggering act of treason decades from now. The lies upon lies that have been piled atop one another are truly mind boggling. It continues to this day, making this web of deceit unimaginably complex and convoluted. Just the way they like it.
This disease, the cancer of 9/11, while most certainly not the original American sickness, is the political, corporate and social illness that pushed America over the edge and the trigger used by these various entities to seal the coffin of an America that is no more. Regardless of your belief about the event itself, it has metastasized well beyond "just" an attack against the American people. It is now ground zero for the fall of the American Empire.
This is no longer your grandfather's America. Or maybe it's more accurate to say that your grandfather's myth of what America was no longer fits the current reality that can't still be hidden behind willing self deception and illusion. But even if the facade has been stripped away, there's no doubt that the cancer has grown much worse and is most certainly malignant if we don't act now to stop it's progression.
It is the ultimate illusion to believe that we should simply step aside and let the evil destroy itself, then reclaim the body that's left over and rebuild our old homes. Some illnesses can never be recovered from for they are deeper than just physical. The emotional and psychological scars that will remain if we stand aside and allow this disease to destroy us will never be healed, at least not for many generations. Time to look within and decide what you're made of.
