Did You Sell Your Crude Today? Might Have Been A Bad Idea...

Tyler Durden's picture

And so it just became religious.

Syria's banned Muslim Brotherhood called on Syrians to take to the streets to demand freedom, a declaration by the movement said on Thursday, ahead of Friday prayers.

"Do not let the regime besiege your compatriots. Chant with one voice for freedom and dignity. Do not allow the tyrant to enslave you. God is great," said the declaration, which was sent to Reuters.

It was the first time that the Brotherhood, whose leadership is in exile, had called directly for demonstrations in Syria since pro-democracy demonstrations against President

And now a reading from the holy book ( Snow Crash )

"When it gets down to it — talking trade balances here — once we've brain-drained all our technology into other countries, once things have evened out, they're making cars in Bolivia and microwave ovens in Tadzhikistan and selling them here — once our edge in natural resources has been made irrelevant by giant Hong Kong ships and dirigibles that can ship North Dakota all the way to New Zealand for a nickel — once the Invisible Hand has taken away all those historical inequities and smeared them out into a broad global layer of what a Pakistani brickmaker would consider to be prosperity — y'know what? There's only four things we do better than anyone else:
microcode (software)
high-speed pizza delivery"

Yes, in protection of your statement, America inherited the resources and the isolation from Europe enabling her to develop a free enterprise economy under a Christian-principled government; while the followers of Mohammed, in spite of French and British colonial aggressiveness, populated the desert areas of North Africa and the Arabian peninsula and the Middle East where under the sands were vast petroleum resources. And, as it is true that the financial resources of much of the world are controlled by the Jews, and thanks to this Jewish financial control, much of the growth in manufacturing has been moved from U.S. shores to China's.

By the way, Tyler, the comment “It just became religious” is closer to cultural unrest, a current development in many nations. Islam, Christianity - as it formed the basis for America’s free enterprise development, and secular Judaism - as an ingredient now in American foreign policy under fire in the Middle East, are all part of the unrest scenario. At this point, a potential Syrian revolution would naturally involve Islam as it is fights against a secular tyranny in al-Assad’s government.

Case in point is a February feature in Vogue Magazine, published by Samuel Irvin Newhouse, Jr., that shows how American Jewish opposition to Islam becomes support for a bloody dictator’s “secular” government. The article, entitled  Asma al-Assad: A Rose in the Desert, begins: Asma al-Assad, Syria’s dynamic first lady, is on a mission to create a beacon of culture and secularism in a powder-keg region—and to put a modern face on her husband’s regime. “

Islam is a totalitarian political system masquarading as a religion. Western lefties have been actively helping the MB organize for the last two years. Pictures are all over the internet of them marching (with special protection) in sympatico with eg., Hamas (MB in Palestine).

They want to re-recreate the Ottoman Empire that stood for 400 years until broken up in WWI. That's precisely why the MB was created in 1928. The current country borders are artificial Western creations, like the nation of Israel. I'm not 100% with Israel, but I have more in common with their value system that allows coexistence.

This is all going to mean a big war in the ME when the current despots are dispatched. The PA and Hamas are making peace with each other with Egyptian MB's help. War with Israel will unify the region politically under the MB.

How the rabid right froths at the mouth for lost empire...Read history. Before the Arabs went rabid muslims and reactionary political nation and lost THEIR enlightenment in 1400, they were the progressive edge of ME civilization in 700-800. They brought math and philosophy and 'conviviencia' (tolerance) to Spain/Sicily. They translated Aristotle and understood him better than anyone. Then the slide down...imperial, decadent downing street...aided and abetted by the christian reactionary Crusades...The West reinvented humanist values during Renaissance...It was game over for Islam right there...All the Ottomans achieved was POWER play,  human progress in architectural and administrative terms that went 'statist bureaucracy' under its own weight. So goes the wheel of fortune amongst peoples and nations. Don't bitch about US regression as it was totally self inflicted, based on uber-alles hubris under Reagan/Bush.

As for "losing the ME...and the Oil coming is as sterile pipe dream as the 1949 trauma that hotted the cold war in far east : "We've lost China" rant.

That said, however, doesn't preclude that we should not be involved militarily all over the god damned world.  Our original precepts were to stay out of world affairs.  We should withdraw all forces and let the rest of the world blow themselves out.

read history! The christians killed a mega ton more than anybody else in the name of their god on all continents of the world than any other religion. As for genocide in history : in the ME it occurred four times : First christian crusade in Jerusalem, Mongol Halagu play in Baghdad, Turkomen Tamerlane play in Baghdad, Ottoman Armenian play in 1915. These were overt genocidal plays. There have been numerous military massacres in ME and Asia as in Europe over history. But that is just zero sum empire play; not ethnic the massacre of Cathars in Provencal France during the Inquisitional papal crusade against heretics; the inside terrorists/commies of that age. As Hitler the 'good aryan' did with the jews.

Likely never; they'd rather bring us all back to the 6th century.  And while they're actively trying to bring that result about, you're arguing that they're comparable to Baptists.  There are not words to describe the depth and breadth of your pig-ignorance.

The first sentence of Bucky fuller's 'Cosmography' is "The Dark Ages Still Reign !" So in case the Dark Ager douchebags who may have missed the grossly underreported findings that all the primal gods of our species were celestial bodies in a very differently arranged solar system of several thousand years ago... Perhaps a way to calm down these schizohumanoids would be to spread the info that El and the Arabic wannabe Allah was a fucking planet...Saturn to be precise. Same for the rest of the primal gods too including Brahma, the Golden Emperor, Ra and those of the Amer-Indians also..Hahahhahha funny to think about, a fucking planet.  If you are not up to speed on your pre-history (whose fire and brimstone memories are verily written into our bones and  DNA) try Cardona's 'God Star' as a starter. Seems like La Realite depasse la fiction n'est pas?

Bucky knew alot more than most.  Few know that many of the ancient 'gods' were actually celestial bodies, or that there was at least one "war in heaven" and the remains of some of the losers  comprise most of the asteroid belt.

Not all of these celestial bodies were natural though.  One survives as a moon of Saturn and appears to be a "buckyball" construct.

Yes we are in a dark age, few realise how far we have fallen, or how determined our "masters" are to keep us down.

Actually "Allah" was a moon god worshipped by the Quresh tribe to which Mohammed belonged.  They worshipped many gods including Allah and his daughters, viz., Al Lanat and Al Manat.  Mohammed just picked "Allah" as the only true god and declared that all other gods were false.

Allah (Arabic: ????All?h, IPA: [?al????h]  ( listen)) is the standard Arabic word for God.[1] The term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God in the context of Islam. It is also used by Arabic speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Mizrahi Jews, Bahá'ís, Eastern Orthodox Christians and Eastern Catholic Christians, in reference to God. – Wikipedia

“God heard the boy (Ishmael – son of Abraham and Hagar) crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, ‘What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.  Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.’” (Genesis 21:17, 18

The Biblical account of Ishmael is the prelude to the founding of Islam.  Arab Muslims trace their lineage back to Abraham through Ishmael.

Later, when Rebekah learned that her husband Isaac, son of Abraham and Sarah, was preparing to bless Esau, his favorite and first born son, she devised a plan to trick him into blessing Esau's twin and her favorite, Jacob. And thus, Esau was tricked into trading his firstborn inheritance for a bowl of pottage, i.e., stew.  Esau, after marrying two foreign girls, then married into Ishmael’s family, hoping to please his parents, Isaac and Rebekah

Syria is not a major oil power, so I'd expect it to matter very little.

The more significant subtle tidbit is Medvedev's announcement that Russia will export no gasoline.  Keeping it all internal amid shortages they are seeing.

If there are shortages to be filled, that is by definition increased consumption coming, so whoever was burning that gasoline Russia used to export will have to find another refinery source, pressuring that supplier to find more crude.

Oh, and did folks notice that summer is arriving?  The more or less entirety of the Middle East uses oil fueled electricity generators.  That's where their air conditioning comes from.  Oil.  No, not hydroelectric.  Oil.

Crude, unlike gold and silver, is the lifeblood of civilization and its primary determinant is not geopolitics or monetarism.

It is geology.  There is absolutely desperate running around in circles screaming that it's all from printing or from geopolitics, or Ben says it's from increased demand from emerging markets.

They are the same thing.  The crushing reality is that only the demand side can increase.

A priest and an Irishman board a plane and end up sitting next to each other. Unfortunately there was a delay, so the stewardess came around offering free drinks.  When asked, the Irishman replies "I'll have a wee bit of Irish whiskey, lassie".  She gives him a glass full of whiskey and he begins to sip. She turns to the priest, asks him if he wants a drink and the priest replies "I'd rather be tied to a tree naked and whipped by seven measly virgins than have Irish whiskey touch my lips".  Immediately, the Irishman hands the glass of whiskey back to the stewardess and says "I didn't know we had a choice".

I couldn't resist, but I did say seven measly virgins.
