The Dollar Will Collapse Within 3-4 Months

Phoenix Capital Research's picture

The US
Dollar's inflationary death spiral continues. We've now taken out the 2010 low
leaving only two more lines of support before we're in completely uncharted
territory.

At its current rate of collapse, the US Dollar will do this within the next 3-4
months. This means the greenback will break into a new all-time lows by 2H11,
which will precipitate the coming inflationary collapse.

Small wonder then that both Gold and Silver recently hit new highs for their current
bull markets. With the greenback dropping like a rock, and rumors of QE 3
swirling around the financial community, what sane investor would bet against inflation?

On that note, now is the time to be shifting capital into inflation hedges. Those
who buy Gold and Silver will likely do very well in the coming months (my
personal view is Gold will clear $1,500 and Silver $40 this year).

We’re also
going to be seeing an increased wave of buyouts in the natural resources sector
as larger firms look to increase their resources via mergers and acquisitions
rather than spending the money to find and develop new mines.

The natural
resources sector will also benefit as large institutions (pensions, mutual
funds, etc) finally begin piling into inflation hedges across the board. Given
how little exposure the Big Boys have to inflation hedges even a small
percentage of assets under management, shifted into these sectors, could result
in sharp price spikes.

In other
words, buckle up, cause things are about to get REALLY interesting.

Good Investing!

Anything is possible. I would say the stage is set. If we do have a hard cash there won’t be any smiley faces. Even among those who are prepared.

Funny how the people who think the dollar is worthless (like G. Gordon Liddy) are soooo willing to sell you their wonderful gold, and take those worthless dollars off your hands???  This is what is known in Economics as a "Paradox."

Well, I did take the test, but I didn't understand any of the questions, so I just marked "C" on all of the answers. It must have worked. But I think some of those questions were trick ones, because on the one that asked "Who is John Galt???", there wasn't a Scottish Poet answer.

"...what sane investor would bet against inflation?"

just the little matter of nearly all the commodities turning down recently. Like copper, sugar, wheat, orange juice and palladium etc. What has gone up does go down (Oil and PM's aside ...for now!). And the stock exchanges are still down 5-6%. Have we reached peak inflation, indeed just past it recently?

What sane investor would bet against inflation peaking Mr Summers?

You need to more clearly define your idea of "collapse".

If by collapse you mean the dollar will hit a new all time low...then yes, I tend to agree.

If, however, by collapse you mean we're gonna go Zimbabwe in 3-4 months...I can't quite agree there...at least not with the 3-4 month time frame. Although I would agree that we eventually will go Zimbabwe. That seems like a given...just not in 3-4 months.

Thu, 03/24/2011 - 20:52 | 1097707 Republican Lackey

That's not a given. The Fed would never commit suicide like that.

The FED is the parasite not the host.

The collapse of the dollar will not affect it one bit since the next fiat currency that will take the dollars place will also be controlled by the same people who control the FED.

They will lose nothing. It will simply be a transfer of wealth...from us to them...as usual.

Well utilized in the Ruger 10/22 tactical version!

http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Tactical/models.html

Even better a 410 auto shotgun, reasonably priced ammo:

Thus, a .410 bore shotgun is a great choice. A 3 inch .410 shot shell fires 3/4 ounce of shot at 1100 feet per second, resulting in approximately 800 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle, and a 2 ½" .410 with ½ ounce of shot produces approximately 600 foot pounds at the muzzle. The delivered energy at the defense ranges considered here are greater than a .357 Magnum revolver cartridge, but the longer barrel and greater weight of the shotgun results in less than half the noise and recoil. More important, the shot pattern is about 8 inches in diameter at 20 feet (full choke), and does not generally penetrate a wall, whereas a .357 Mag bullet pierces walls easily...and unintended victims on the other side.

I have a Taurus Judge and the 410 rounds will produce a hellish recoil.

Saying the USD will collapse in 3-4 months is the same as saying the global economy will collapse in 4-5 months.

Since you aren't willing to go out on that limb and "go for the gusto", I'll stick to the opinion that the collapse won't happen that fast.

The collapse can't happen until the public loses confidence in the currency. We're just on the brink of the first phase of hyperinflation and this should take a few years to play out.

The dollar to euro will remain the same as both lose value.  The euro is just as weak as the dollar so the ratio of the dollar to euro will not collapse, just the value of the euro and the dollar.

I'm not even in finance, but that is a pretty extreme call. I think you're really underestimating at the lengths our government will go to prevent that from happening. Could it happen? Sure, but not in 3-4 months. Too many still have jobs, and many are still paying taxes to support the crap going on. Need a few more things to go wrong quickly for a call like that to happen that soon.

Thu, 03/24/2011 - 19:13 | 1097383 Northeaster

My interpretation is they want to completely control it, not crash it completely. Crashing it would be as bad for them as it would be for those on welfare. It would completely throw the country into chaos, which isn't going to happen.

Maybe some of the keyboard commando's think that's going to happen and a good thing, or closet survivalists, but it isn't. People are going to suffer, sure, but people will still have work to do, the majority of us still have too much to lose (especially those of us with children).

If you think it's a different scenario, then by all means, take the initiative, take your AK, and your friends, take a stroll to Wall Street, and start it up. I'm sure it will work out for you.

No seriously --- they. want. to. crash. the. dollar.  Doood, where have you been?

They don't officially call it "crashing the USD" they call it a controlled devalution.

Stated Rationale: devalue the USD so that the US can pay back sovereign debt to China, et.al., with inflated (worthless) dollars and simultaneously make USA exports more "competitive" by making them cheaper, hence spurring economic growth.

Ulterior motive: Greed. Kill the USD as reserve currency so they can roll out another fiat by the IMF, or ??

Of course crashing the USD is really a de facto default by another name. Better strap yourself onto the back of your boyfriend's moped, it's going to be bumpy.

the government doesn't control the issuance of currency and credit, the criminal cartel of federal reserve banks does.

note - they want bankers to control the world with a world currency... they aren't trying to save america, they are trying to destroy her! the corporate UN is now controlling america's kinetic military force (you just couldn't make that orwellian crap up!) - neither congress nor the people need apply!

we are such domesticated b*es that almost nobody complains!

>>Ulterior motive: Greed. Kill the USD as reserve currency so they can roll out another fiat by the IMF, or ??<<

they want to kill america, too. those who hate your freedoms are those who take them away while pointing at an emmanuel goldstein like figure and blaming him for them eliminating your rights.

funny how debtors (and america is made up of debtors as money is debt!) all root for policies that will benefit them...

the problem is that this fact is EXACTLY why those policies won't be carried out.

citizen debtors are the lootees, not the looters.

I agree with your first three paragraphs. Add to those impossible entitlement obligations. To get out of all this we need a rapidly devalued dollar. However, it is like trying to control a NASCAR crash.

IMF currency? Not so sure but there could be a restart on all or most world currencies. Other countries are in the same boat and would like to do the same thing.
