Dubya, Hank Paulson's Surrogate Mother, Urged The Bald To Exercise, Sleep

I've heard drunks hitting the 40's outside the 7-11 make more sense than Paulson.
What was that creamy-white liquid on the side of Paulson's mouth and little droplet stains on his shirt? Weird, why were there wrinkles on Paulson's pants at the knees? Noticed a small wet spot on Grampa Buff's crotch. Hmm.... anyone know what went on as i missed the TV segment.
Paulson must have had a really bad studdering problem when he was a kid. As an adult, he still has problems spitting out the words on his mind. Or is he afraid that something he says will prove him a liar?
+1
Yes. I'm on ZH.
In other alternative realities...
I think my favorite was "Buffett says he shares Paulson's Mom's Feelings about Bush".
Classic
Warren and Mrs. Paulson?
The Squid is everywhere!
Please say it ain't so.
Don't freakin die on me Hank.
Okay okay, okay... this is an April Fool's joke that got out early and in it's raw and unpolished form....
ROFL, can't get me with that sort of idiocy, I mean who would believe that!
Speaking of 1984, will someone please tell us what has happened to Marla Singer. Has she been sent to a Re-education Camp or what?
I miss her poison pen.
Marla just posted a few minutes ago.
who cares what this crook has to say - nice little scheme at AIG with Liddy - throw him in jail - see how much love he gets there
It's Bartles and Jaymes.
"Thank you for yer support."
They missed one. Let me help them out:
BN 14:03 *PAULSON SAYS HAS MAN-CRUSH ON BUFFETT
*sqworl has man crush on Roubini.
sqworl has alway identified as a woman, except when she was playing with you. She has a chick crush on Roubini!
Shhhh!!! Let him keep thinking he's fighting a guy. Then when she takes her shirt off for the fight she can beat him up while he's staring at her boobies.
Is this one of Tyler's best or what
funny i have a really good friend that played football with hanky p. @ dartmouth. he is a rather polite chap with comments like this “but he remains a part of a group that frustrates and angers me”
but david is starting to get it though with phrases like this “The fact that so many of the guilty parties are back in business with huge, taxpayer assisted bonuses and none of them are in jail seems a travesty.”
so maybe just maybe some people even can say truthful things against old mates.
Is Paulson a closet homo?
Hank Paulson is the Phil Donahue of Treasury secretaries. What an embarrassment. Just STFU, please. It would be fine if he just preferred men, but actually writing that Bush was like a mother to him? Good gravy, people, we need to haul in his pansy ass, get the court thing over with and get him to start serving time. Frankly, given that some are claiming national security over the 2008 crash, it's not out of the question that he be tried for treason and face capital punishment.
Is this one of Tyler's best or what...
How many hundreds of millions of dollars in capital gains was Hank allowed to get tax-free on account of his taking the Treasury post? Yeah, no wonder he couldn't say no to his country! And right before the market began to slide. Hmmm. #pitchforks
I'm proud, so proud, that we've gotten people into leadership positions in this country that say phrases like 'we need to get right' when addressing the nature of a relationship with a totalitarian state.
If only we were moral enough to get right with the Nazis way back when. Alas.
Leadership. Morals. What's my cut?
"Without TARP we would have had 25% unemployment"
Hank will be beating this drum forever. It's like he's Guilliani and TARP was his personal 9/11.
We damn near do have 25% unemployment right now.
I guess he believes the bogus 9.7% number. Just like he didn't think people flipping burgers buying McMansions was a problem.
That man is so utterly clueless it just shows money has rendered itself completely worthless when a fool like Paulson has hundreds of millions of the stuff.
Staggering, just staggering. Or should I say stuttering.......
He's right, we would've had 25% unemployment without TARP. All the resources that have been misallocated into the FIRE economy would suddenly have been revealed as the waste that they are and they would have been out of work.
The very next day, the worthwhile enterprises, free of the burden of supporting the FIRE economy, would have begun to boom and would have hired the recently unemployed.
They would bring them in on the bottom rung, of course, but they would have made honest people out of those whose parasitc existence was preserved by TARP.
Paulson is a complete fool and validates the saying that fools are promoted to the top. He is clueless and along with a President that couldn’t make the hard decision and delegated his most important decision to the fool. Buffett is a close second………he has lost money just like the rest of Americans…..the fact that he runs an insurance company that has cash flow helps with liquidity but it doesn’t repair the damage already done.
Fool?
The man made a $100mm tax free gain on his Goldman stock by signing up for goverment service... BEFORE the SHTF.
The man was instrumental in not only saving his old firm from disaster, but also (1) cleared the playing field from competiton in new bond issues, (2) provided a taxpayer funded $13b funnel through AIG, (3) persuaded Bennie to given them TALF benefits; and (4) persuaded Timmay to give GS a bank charter and access to do casino gambling on 0% interest. Notice I didn't say anything about TARP.
Depending what side you're on, good ole Hank is a freaking genius. He singlehandedly saved his old firm's hide-- all the while appearing to be a victimized "fool", who was only "trying to save our country's fiancial system".
After he gets done shoveling cash from his self-ascribed "memoirs", I'm sure there's a place for him in Goldman's Hall of Fame (which, of course, comes with monetary benefits).
I think I'm getting the dry heaves.
+11111111...
That is the most accurate summation I have heard in a decade.
Now if Paulson is in fact a Mother F_cker, the mother thing becomes very weird and revealing...both our former president and his own...oh, I just can't say it.
If he was a genius, he would have made a gazillion dollars without most of the world hating him and destroying the world economy in the process.
Perhaps Hank has alrady made his gazillion dollars.
As well, perhaps Hank doesn't give much of a hoot whether the world hates him... he just wants to stay out of the slammer and play golf with his close circle of buddies. He's already convinced himself of saving the world economy from certain peril... please don't destroy his self-actualized illusion.
As I suggested before, he's a friggin genius in some circles... probably not yours. Or mine, for that matter.
Buffet a fool? I would like to lose some of my wealth in a recession and still be a multibillionare.
Hackers.

Why is anyone listening to these clowns?
Can we just MARK EVERYTHING ZERO already?
Why continue this farce?
"Bush has good, fundamental understanding of markets"... can only get better once we get over his urge to view the data upside down!
OK, I'm giving in and am off to check out the post game wrap on cnbc... couldn't watch it live... some stomach issues lately... please, wish me luck!
wonder if zerohedge could do an analysis of where Buffett's bets on S&P not declining stand ?
When I watched a nervous H. Paulson testifying (lying that he didnt know s**t) before Congress, I saw no semblance to an ex-football player. He looked shaken, ill and weakened. Fully expected him to collapse like the economy into a coronary. I would'nt wish that on anyone--even Bush. But anyone could see that he was terrified that the truth of what he has done would surface, and that his place in history would be tarnished.
I hope Ken Lewis's lawyer crucifies Paulson. I wonder how Bush sleeps at night, seeing how he is primarily responsible for much of our woe.
After a handle of Jack Daniels. That's how he sleeps.
Seriously, I don't think that Bush really is responsible for our problems as much as he gets blamed for. I'd normally be the first person to blame Bush's administration, as they are reponsible for everything.
More and more, I don't really think that Bush was the one driving that bus. I know that it was his administration, and that the worst events in U.S. economic history happened at the end of his presidency, and that he inherited a roaring economy and surplus and turned it into the great depression II... but still, do you think that Bush really made that many decisions? I mean, look at the guy. He just said yes to a lot of people that were more senior than him in the hierarchy...
Bush surrounded himself with wealthy, self-serving incompetents who were devoted more to exploiting 9/11, procuring tax cuts for the wealthy, fighting two wars on the cheap, bloating the size of Government, gaining neo-con control of the Supreme Court, and creating expensive entitlements for seniors.
Meanwhile, jobs vanished, trade deficits grew, the National Debt doubled, costs of Healthcare tripled, and deregulation of the financial system allowed the current bank/RE crisis.
I mean Bush was so hopelessly out of touch with reality that he proposed going to Mars---you cant make this shit up!--and embedding Social Security monies into the Stock Market...right before it tanked!
But his biggest sin is all the human misery he has caused--the dead/maimed from his wars, and a Nation facing a myriad of economic problems that may result in catastrophic failure.
I like that there are math problems every time I sign in, keeps the noggin tickin, ya know?
What was I doing? ah yeah, Bush.....
His poppy's daddy's daddy was a railroad man. Son was a banker, whose son was an oilkan. I meant to type man, but I like oilkan better ;) anywho, The "Oilkan's" son was a politician. And if there is one thing that a politician knows, it is that he doesn't need to know.
Was there a planned destruction to the (TRUTHERS ENTER WORLD TRADE CENTER HERE NOW) economy. Obviously. Did W. know the details? didn't need to. So they probably didn't tell him. we could fairly ask could he understand the economy in it's entirety itself?
Look, the dude did have a photographic memory, so we gotta give him something. However, an alchi usually can't remember where he left his pants after a party. I say most Presidents is dumb. Dumb is dirt.
i might stop watching colbert and stewart and just read ZH at night. but it is late and you might of just had your nightcap.
Wow..Paulson's a gaytard!
You do the gay community, the mentally disabled community, and the community of gays who are mentally disabled, a disservice with your comments, sir. These three groups have done nothing to warrant being compared to Paulson. You set back civil right's activism a century.
Apologize.
your quick†
Paulson played college football. You see college football teaches our youngsters many important lessons like team-work,
Paulson is certifiable. Did he always stutter and stammer like he has for the past couple years? I have heard not. Pretty soon I think he calls himself jesus and dons a "Vote for Palin" necktie.
Too much inbreeding.
Or way too much anti-anxiety medication.
Welcome to the USA Dog and Pony show (Paulson is the Dog of course). Wow, are USA traders truly that stupid that now they need bedtime stories and feel-good sentimental moments on Ftv? Well, with the HFT computers taking over, looks to me like the guys in the pits have nothing else to do than watch the Idiot Box.
Are people that stupid? It appears so.
stupid...yes.
Complacent...absolutely.
Apparently you dont understand the mechanisms behind the manipulation of the yuan and how much money and dollars China wastes keeping it low -- and the dollar had been declining -- they dont want to kill the dollar.
Karl Denninger: As Fiderer explains, Paulson asked the banks to create those CDOs “so that they could be sold to some suckers at close to par."
BN 16:58: Paulson wants to share cell with Bernankenstein
in the dock
Wrong Paulson you'd know that if you read the entire post..
BN:16:31 Paulson would share cell with Bernanke in the dock
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Amazing we are taking advice from this guy and that he still holds influence. Remember, Paulson was Ehrlichman's assistant way back in Watergate days. He is on the Nixon tapes. Ehrlichman said that Haldeman told him that whenever Nixon talked about Watergate on the tapes, he would mention that he was afraid that it would bring up "that whole Bay of Pigs thing" which Haldeman says was code for JFK assassination information After Ehrlichman went to prison, Paulson went on to Goldman Sachs . . . and you know the rest of the story:
In his book, The Ends of Power, Haldeman cites several conversations where Nixon expressed concern about the Watergate affair becoming public knowledge and where this exposure might lead.
Haldeman writes:
"In fact, I was puzzled when he [Nixon] told me, 'Tell Ehrlichmann this whole group of Cubans [Watergate burglars] is tied to the Bay of Pigs.' After a pause I said, 'The Bay of Pigs? What does that have to do with this [the Watergate burglary]?' But Nixon merely said, 'Ehrlichman will know what I mean,' and dropped the subject."
Later in his book, Haldeman appears to answer his own question when he says, "It seems that in all of those Nixon references to the Bay of Pigs, he was actually referring to the Kennedy assassination."
If Haldeman's interpretation is correct, then Nixon's instructions for him to, "Tell Ehrlichmann this whole group of [anti-Castro] Cubans is tied to the Bay of Pigs," was Nixon's way of telling him to inform Ehrlichmann that the Watergate burglars were tied to Kennedy's murder. (It should be noted that many Cuban exiles blamed Kennedy for the failure to overthrow Castro at the Bay of Pigs, pointing to Kennedy's refusal to allow the American military to launch a full-scale invasion of the island.)
Haldeman also links the CIA to the Watergate burglars and, by implication, to the Kennedy assassination. Haldeman writes, "...at least one of the burglars, Martinez, was still on the CIA payroll on June 17, 1972 -- and almost certainly was reporting to his CIA case officer about the proposed break-in even before it happened."
Quoted from http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/407765; Haldeman, "The Ends of Power" (Times Books 1978); Schorr, Daniel, "Clearing the Air", (Berkeley Medallion Books 1978)
Disturbing.
If this whole financial blog thing doesn't work out, one has a future with seth meyer.

Somebody get that gelding an apple!
Comments from recent testimony on Capital Hill:
Senator: "Mr. Paulsen, what happened to the money we sent to AIG?
Hank: aaaaaa I, i, i, i, i, i, i,.......a, a, a, a, a aa a a aa....aaaassk Tim!
Paulson is the teflon man--the bald head must repel indictments and investigations. Hard to believe he is still around. Recall he started out his career working for Ehrlichman and Paulson went directly to Goldman Sachs after Ehrlichman went to prison. Ehrlichman had this to say about Watergate:
Haldeman writes:
"In fact, I was puzzled when he [Nixon] told me, 'Tell Ehrlichmann this whole group of Cubans [Watergate burglars] is tied to the Bay of Pigs.' After a pause I said, 'The Bay of Pigs? RE: Buffett
If the S&P 500 goes up and up forever you have to figure BRK/A is going to do pretty well too right?
So if you're Buffett do you sell way out puts on the index to generate that much more juice for your bottom line?
Or do you buy those way out puts as a hedge and potential home run if the market takes a serious dive?
Obviously he did the former but that just seems nuts to me. If you pump oil out of the ground and are currently enjoying $100+ prices for your product do you try and turbo charge those margins by using derivatives to try and capture even more upside or do you use derivatives to hedge against a big price drop. That one seems even easier doesn't it?
Far be it from me to knock Capt. Value but WTF Warren?
