Dumpster Diving Resumes in Earnst

RobotTrader's picture

Here we go again.  Leading the charge is NYSE Euronext

Next up is STI, ZION, banks remain on a roll...

Note how these banks are totally unfazed by EUR/USD and PIIGS convulsions.  Basically, this group remains in an uninterrupted meltup.

Now we start diving into the dumpster.  About 350 million shares traded on this lotto ticket today:

And Fanron, Freddie, and AIG are now back at the party:

And notice how anything associated with "discretionary spending" is bid up with a vengeance.

Note how Constellation Brands was blown up on Friday, only to fully recover by today:

And don't forget the booming travel and leisure sector. as investors are celebrating lower oil prices today by buying airline stocks:

And remember all the warnings about bonds topping out, PIMCO was telling everyone to sell, yada, yada, yada????

Bonds ended up rallying with a vengeance the last few days, and bond auctions are going off again without a hitch..

Now we get to see if Kate Gosselin is cut on Dancing With The Stars tonight...

Another big move on Ciena (CIEN), up 7%:

And LDK Solar (LDK) and Trina Solar (TSL) keep moving up on good volume:

Or will nanotechnology be the next big thing:

Cheer up, the bankster are still in reflate mode, reflating all risk assets. Plenty of liquidity to drive risk assets even higher, attracting all sorts of attention.

So get out of the dumps and cheer up, and don't miss the market's BEAT:

So that's what Lloyd Blankfein looked like before he went bald!  Glad he earned enough to get that tooth replaced.

And the other archive photo of Bernanke stroking his beard to a grilling by Alan Grayson is a nice profile shot.

"When Americans understand that they have been betrayed in that they have been working and saving for worthless (non-intrinsic) "money," there'll be holy hell to pay. That's my prediction, and amid a state of national anger, I believe we'll see the termination of the Federal Reserve, probably the greatest fraud ever foisted on the America people."    - Richard Russell

The manipulation of FRN...I mean FNM, FRE and AIG make me want to puke!  As well as the sales of gold and silver.  I think GS held up another bank today...that must have been what happened.

I spent one year homeless. I though good food could be found around grocery stores and fast food. The dumpsters in Sacramento, CA were all locked.

FRVH ended up 189% and at one point was up almost 300% in the a.m. not bad on 89 M shares traded. Not bad for a company that had $88,000.00 total revenue last fiscal year. Good job!

This reporting quarter can be summed up as "SHOW ME THE BEEF".

Yes, we will hear good generalities, and words of encouraging future outcomes, and we will laugh, because we have learned. We know "better than expected" really means "Oh Shit".

It is just a matter of combing through the financials to see how the financial fairy tale was created. What was sacrificed for the good news; cutting staff, accounting games, lies and fraud. It is just a matter of finding the secret sauce. We will read foot notes with huge amounts given meaningless titles. Ask a few hard questions and the house of cards will crumble.

For the financial sector I see huge problems for (in this order);

1) Citi

2) BAC

3) JPM

4) Wells Fargo.

It is just a question of how well they can hide them. But, make no mistake, without the FED buying their bad debt, they are insolvent. It is just a matter of time and recognizing loss.

Fundamentally everything looks like absolute garbage.  Unprecedentedly bad.  However, technically, markets in this state have historically delivered positive returns for a long while.  The worst case similarity I found was May 2007, which, after about 1 1/2 months of consolidation lead into a the big crash of 2007/2008.  All other similar markets put on extended uptrends.   With free money such as it is right now, and such absolute disregard by the elite for the opinions of the masses, no matter what should happen, I think the odds of a short pullback followed by a huge rally is the best be.  And by the way, I'm put-option short WFC, BAC and C and getting destroyed on those positions, in spite of knowing better than to fight the market.  I feel like Jesse Livermore short cotton in the early 1910s because some 'fundamental' genius told him the cotton market had to collapse.

addendum - ' a few hard questions and the house of cards will crumble'. But TPTB paid good money to buy the media and ensure that such hard questions will never be asked.  The collapse will come, and will be spectacular, but trying to time the top is suicide.

Take me out to the ball park. Oh what a lovely game is being played. Wanna lollipop, popcorn or some cotton candy. They are all so tasty , which one should I buy. Its a beautful sunny day. My teams up 3-0 in the 9th, everything is great. ....... and than out of nowehere the other team loads the bases. POW Grand slam, and we're down 4-3. Out of frustration we bean the next guy up and both benches clear and all out brawl opens ups like a over flowing sewer.

On to the markets. Maybe I'll have better luck there.... or maybe not!
