This is like the 'sub-prime is well contained' until it isn't type of spin!

or 'carefully monitoring the situation', but that's about all they do

Reminds me of those Halloween paper sacks full of Dog Poop that we'd light on our respected neighbor's porch when I was a kid.

Guess he never grew up.

When all the bullshit and smoke clears, IMF ( aka the US taxpayer supported worldwide CB ) will be a guarantor for Greek loans.

I take it that the Greeks do not recognize any word as a synonym for bailout.

Thats the whole idea. Extend and pretend. This is what Ben and Geithner are doing over in the US.

Exactly right Zexe, they are trying to extend and pretend but nobody is buying it in Europe or Asia.  You see it's easy to con people in the US because the media helps the govt. do it.  In Europe every country is looking out for itself and it knows and their private investors know that Greece is a blackhole that you won't get your money out of.  How are they going to pay back this "whatever" loan no loan they may or may not get if they are still in the hole for many more billions?  All this loan no loan does is fill the hole they are in for this year and it sounds like they aren't getting the full amount that they need for this loan no loan deal.

Trav7777 you may be right also, Greece has approximately 1400 islands and 227 are inhabited.  You can bet your bottom dollar that some of those countries are saying we will put up the money if you give us some islands we want.  I mean think of it, if your Germany or Britain wouldn't you want a few islands in the Med that is under your rule.

Are you familiar with the concept of nationalism - it runs deep here despite the EC - that would be like waving a red rag to a bull - the Greeks would go mental
