Egypt is Baaaaaaack (And Oprah Gets The Flu)
Looks like the Egyptian stock market ain't opening up on Sunday after all:

In other news, congratulations to all those who got suckered in by the last 10 minutes short squeeze.
And in absolutely hypocritical and hilarious news (cause they are so true), following today's re-escalation in Egyptian violence, Oprah, who was previously scheduled to have a show in Cairo's Tahrir Square, has promptly pulled out, citing "the flu."
Oprah Winfrey is not coming to Egypt’s Tahrir Square, despite an announcement from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism saying the celebrity had accepted an invitation “without hesitation.”
According to a post on Oprah’s Twitter account Friday evening, the star has been in bed with the flu since the Oscars earlier this week. “Hearing reports that I’m taking show to Cairo. NOT TRUE. Have no plans to do so,” she tweeted.
The Ministry of Tourism invited Oprah and other celebrities to Tahrir Square as part of a campaign to bring tourists back to Egypt following the January 25 Revolution, which managed to oust Egypt’s 30-year dictator in just eighteen days.
The prospect of Oprah’s appearance in Tahrir Square has been met with mixed reactions by Egyptians. Some argue that any publicity is good publicity, and believe Oprah’s appearance will help draw tourists back to Egypt. Others are disdainful of the idea, asking, “Where was Oprah during the revolution?”

Ya just can't keep a good story out of the news for long.
And ya, that was a vicious ramp there at the end. Always a little frightening to see the herd stampede like that.
I think some are betting on a QE3 announcement soon. Hence, BTFD.
That ramp at the end ruined my day, maybe my weekend-seems like rising oil prices are good for the economy now since oil surged up along with the stock markets in the last half hour.
And what kind of a moron is Drudge? He had the WTI chart from Feb 28 on his "Oil Surges" headline all day today with the price at $98!
Its a Max Keiser thing , I expect Lebanon to go up in flames any time now.
Opraaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbllllllllllaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, just puked at the sound of her name.
When does the hermes open?
Excellent reference.
Maybe the Enterprise should run an end around, and protect the south end of the Suez Canal? Oh wait that was the original idea. Good thing for nuclear powered ships.
If the US Navy has any intelligence or money left in the bank they may want to put on hold any plans to turn their remaining Kitty Hawk and Forrestal class aircraft carriers into artificial reefs.
Especially when Russia is buying deck landing ships from ( FRANCE) Yes FRANCE. Good work Mr Cork Master!
I am sure the French will accommodate the USS JFK in Toulon - all they have to do is tow it out of the harbour and let it swan around the Med with US Marine aviation wings aboard.
Then again - you could just sell it to the French - I am sure they would be interested.................
it might even reduce the deficit.

Sarko, ba-beeeee, would I lie to you? Of course it can go as fast in reverse as forward. No prob-o-lem.
Australia no longer has any aircraft-carriers - we used to have 2 ex-Brit WW2-vintage carriers, but they're long gone. Of course, Oz is in a sense one bloody big, unsinkable carrier but we could probably do with some extra reach. We could probably afford to lease a couple of carrier battle groups from you guys - just to help out, you understand? But none of those clapped-out rust-buckets like the last TWO ships you sold us! (Google USS Saginaw [LST-1188],USS Fairfax County [LST-1193])
You'd have to throw in the aircraft, of course, but we could probably do without the nuclear weapons. And the crews, too - that goes without saying. We might even offer them citizenship (or POLITICAL ASYLUM if S.P. ever becomes POTUS). I'm sure we could come to a deal. ;=))
What last minute short squeeze? That was RT positioning for MF Monday!
(See the moron Lib junkers have woken up again.)
Well they want some of that liberty stuff they fought and died for. Is it any wonder this would be happening? Those that were attempting to channel this thing they want they wanted it, may have lost control of it now. I remember a old man, I saw one evening on Al Jazeera and he was in the square and some of the younger "leaders" came there and started barking orders and he told them to go fuck off. Ha, ha, I like that. If they want to coach, tell them to go somewhere else and fuck off.
They didn't fight for liberty. They fought for 'democracy'. At least, that's what the media says.
It was nice of the protestors to wait until Friday after the close in NY.
Nicer to watch the dip buyers get torched Monday.
Was seeing this earlier. They are happy about the new PM, but are demanding the dismantling of the old corrupt security apparatus.
Look to Croatia - 100.000 people on the streets right now.
And even after half a year of protests now, the people in Stuttgart are still angry.

Oprah has the King Tut virus. News at Eleven.
Two items never to watch.
Oprah probably doesn't want to be ass raped like the woman from 60 minutes. she may have been humbled coggy, just thinking about her prior abuse as a child growing up in the south. nothing too low to go, to. yep, she is a cracker, she actually started the obama get him, elected. i remember it well, opy started it for øb1. curious isn't it? i have no idea what your post means! King Tut?
So how much pot do you smoke on a daily basis?
+1
it should be mandatory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZqYV9KKOZQ
curious, do i seem like i am on pot?
No, ayahuasca.
With a DMT chaser.
det; lighter yet more heady.
Mescaline+coke?
Is that what happened to your daughter, too?
Anubis B!tchez
With the military taking over, I suspected this was only going to get worse. I will reserve judgement until we have more data.
Note the Egypt has a USD peg.
Let's hope that this time they didn't forget to bring the semtex and fuses...
Soon the REVOLUTION will be occupying these places - why blow them up?

Given the choice of what to cover, Egypy? or Kitch design? --- yeah, run Kitchen Design!!! Nice call Editor.
F MW, and the horse that dragged it in.
Happy FDIC Friday!
At least they aren't making every NFL negotiation blurb a breaking news story, like CNBC(I have their app). I really wish CNBC didn't have the best iphone app for tracking stocks real-time.
In the end, they know what the masses want to see.
Yeah, I love how they update within nanoseconds if the DJIA goes up.0002, but somehow hundred point drops go unexplained for hours...
Egypt?
Oil?
Democracy?
Please, I want to see about all that crap that people "need" to buy to redo their kitchen so they can Jones their friends and family.
I really "need" that granite countertop and the woodcut "HOME" and other trinkets made by child slave labor in China.
Hungry kids and freedom in the Middle East? Pish!
"Dahling, the Escalade needs to be filled up, here's the maxed out Capitol One card - and get Froofy's diamond collar while you're out so I can bear to walk past the neighbors this evening."

O RLY? They have yet to see anything.
Et tu, Bernank?
This whole middle east thing is just like a tire fire. Just when you're convinced its out, it comes back even stronger.
Continued unrest in Egypt is actually a good thing as it seems the citizenry will not allow anything other than true representative rule. The bloodshed is terrible, but they are fighting for their freedom - they will not settle for a military administered freedom mirage...
I suspect that the "representative rule" that will eventuate will be the glorious return of the Caliphate, and the end of the separation of church and state.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss......
Expecting a democracy to flourish out of this mess is a trifle naive.
I think its more of a generational shift ala The Fourth Turning. The old generation of Islamists are struggling to hold power. It won't work in the end.
That doesn't mean a younger, hipper strong man won't appear there but he probably won't be selling the Islam as gov't stuff. Probably bread and circuses like dear leader Obama.
Nope, with the availability of the Internet, the Egyptian youth see what other parts of the world have and they want it as well - real freedom. They do not want Sharia law.
Before the Internet, it was easier for autocratic rulers to repress their people because the proletariat knew no other reality. Things really are different this time. That is why we [U.S.] should be supporting these revolutions more directly.
And I am anything but naive - in response to your weak personal attack...
For the record, it was not a personal attack.
You clearly do not understand Islam in the slightest. (This also is not intended as a personal attack, it is merely an observation).
These rioting Middle Eastern and African populaces have never experienced democracy, or anything remotely like it.
Conceptually, democracy is the antethesis of Islamic thought. To think that brainwashed, unemployed youth want democracy is probably expecting a bit much from the situation. If anything, the youth wish for empowerment, and Islam provides that empowerment.
I sincerely hope that I might be wrong, but I don't think so.
Peace out, spdrdr.
Real freedom? There are exhibitions of real freedom on the internet?
Watch Whitey snipe from behind his keyboard about the character of the REVOLUTION in Egypt.
Be nice if Egypt knew what freedom is. When were they ever free?
Freedom is an instinct
Also:
There's a lot of good thinking from this man. See some here: http://www.mgilleland.com/ngd.htm
... says the White Boy with the government who reads his email.
Here ya go.. A better breakdown.

Just wait 'til the MB gets a handle on things. They'll get rid of all that uncertainty with a few .556 rounds.
You need to move your decimal point one place to the right.
The MB are too busy counting all that money coming in from Uncle Sam to worry about trifling things like labor unrest and REVOLUTION.
What? Well then who is supposed to give all of those Egyptians a new car?
Guess you heard about the new "Clunkers for Revolutions" program!
GM sells Volts to the Govt., Govt. lend-leases them to Egypt -- everybody wins! Winning The Future, one FRN at a time! :>D
Is it just me or is this rebellion thing getting boring?
It's like voting here in the US. Takes a couple of cycles.
Aren't you from Belgium?
You would think Domokun would be agitating for a new Belgian Govt. Or any Belgian Govt. for that matter, since they really don't have one right now! LOL.
Exactly. -lol- But hey, it seems to work without a Govt. Maybe they are too terrified of getting van Rompuy back... (No, I know that Merkel is a joke, too.)
OK, since none you are sick enough to say it, here goes.
Oprah is the one woman who could walk Tahir Square in a bikini and not have to worry about being raped.
Favorite comment of the day.
ahem
but my mind is opening up lately.
they do "camels", don't they?
plus +++ LOL. very good point !
If the protesters get the state security building, they'll know who all the government snitches were.
When East Germany fell, people took the STASI bulding and did the same thing. There will be blood.
I wonder how many European citizens will pop out of the prisons in Egypt with stories of kidnap by the CIA and torture at the hands of Mubarak's goons.
Wouldn't limit it to European citizens - interesting thought...
Yes, and US Homeland Security hired Marcus Wolfe the former head of the STASI.
shame she's not going
i heard she was going to give everyone in egypt a hyundai
maybe it's the vodka shots talking, but LOL.
What no Oprah? Those egyptians are really gonna be pissed now.
They are still hungry. They may have missed the opp to grow their crops.
No Oprah the tv queen, only oppsie the clown of doom, will make an appearance.
We should really fix those ingrate Egyptians!
Send them Dr. Phil!
D@mn! Flashed on Jerry Springer mediating amongst all the shoe flingers! :>D
Wti push well above 105 ah. Momos will worries this weekend.
Blood will run in the streets. the whole thing will come crashing down, and then it will start all over again til force mejeure puts an end to the madness.
doom. bitchez
You rang?
If Oprah can't lose weight with personal chefs and trainers, so what chance does Michelle Obama have with the rest of America? Should society spend billions on a bad experiment when Oprah already did, without success?
Factoid: Jack LaLane died at the age of 96 (may that good man RIP). But his older, Norman, never worked out like Jack and died a few years ago at the age of 97!
Charlie Sheen is savant. Charlie should go to Tarir Square with the Goddesses. #Winning
Good points. As an aside, the Wif got stuck on a flight back from Chitown, with some close-by neighbors that went up for an Oprah show. Those neighbors put out the most garbage every trash day in this hood. Overflowing cans. The truck has to engage the scoop-squisher every time.
It's not about health but control and reduced costs - but I think you knew that ;-)
(and, it is mainly genetics, but that's another secret they don't want to let out - too much money being made by lawyers suing big tobacco, pharmaceuticals, and drug and treatment selling - round and round we go as the calliope huffs and steams)
Perfect; another torpedo in the mass meme boiler room. I love it. My all time personal favorite was the New York doctor who started the whole "run for your life" movement; He died of a heart attack while running; the autopsy doctor said, "well, if he'd stayed home and sat on the couch he probably would have lived another ten years". You gotta love it; propaganda forever.
My last OT post before bloody next week.
This photo of the Obama Inauguration Crowd was taken with a robotic 1474 megapixel camera (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera):
http://gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?auth=033ef14483ee899496648c...
If you want to see any individuals face, just zoom in.
With this technology, anyone in that entire crowd could be identified by facial feature afterwards, given any cause.
How can I get one?
I can't see the face of the guy with the white conehead hat coming out of the porta-potty behind the camera tower.
Huge cone head - maybe it is "Cigar Guy" in disguise?
Zoom in just above the right top of the camera tower to the porta-potty's, the one with the door open, you can't miss this guy.
you think that's weird, go straight down from there, underneath the tower on the right, there's someone's lower legs - nothing else. Probably an alien.....
And the two legs cast a full-body-length shadow. So Photoshopped, but why?
I think I figured it out...
It's a stitched time-lapse panorama.
Look at the cop just to the left of the legs; it's the same cop talking on his cell phone - leaning right - then leaning left.
That...or it's alternate dimensions crossing over.
This is the hardware and software of the company:
http://www.gigapansystems.com/
Only $895!
Couldn't find the cone head guy, but I found the al-Qaeda guy.
And a very old telephone in case the musicians play the wrong tune.
I found Wally!
Amazing!
Yeah, where was Oprah during the revolution?
Oprah got the syphilis by hanging around
is it bad news for stock? I am so confused.
Well, hey, you're in the right place !
"If there is hope...it lies in the proles. If they could become conscious of their own strength...they would have no need to conspire. History does not matter to them."
"Men are infinitely malleable. Or perhaps you’ve returned to your old idea that the proletarians will arise. Put it out of your mind. They are helpless animals. Humanity is the body."
You know what ... let France, Italy, Germany and G.B. figure out what to do in N.A. and the M.E. Oh yeah, they can pay for it too.
Somebody explain to me why we have 73 military installations Europe 65 years after the end of WWII and 30 years after the end of the cold war.
Exactly. Somebody should also explain why Tea Party madam Michele Bachmann can't cut a measly $100 billion from the budget for infrastructure building in Afghanistan?
Instead she cuts from Veterans Affairs and seniors already living on Social Security. That's great....screw veterans and tie granny and gramps ss, no not to core cpi but to superlative cpi. WTF?
Cut some military spending. But, no they won't touch 1¢ of Gates' budget.
-10 for thinking that Congress is actually in charge of the budget.
Another reason more Americans are watching Aljazeera. AP News, CNN, and other Western MSM are too busy tracking down Balloon Boy or who won a date with the bachelor.
And you get a new camel, and you get a new camel, and you......
