Egypt Promptly Turns Ugly Again As 4 Protesters Killed By Pro-Mubarak Supporters: Al Jazeera, Al Masriya And CNN Live Feeds

Tyler Durden's picture

After what was largely a quiet day, events in Cairo's Tahrir square have taken a turn for the worse, after at least four protesters were killed and thousands more injured after semi-automatic gunfire erupted, supposedly out of the pro-Mubarak supporters, some of whom were previously exposes as being Egyptian police. End result - Egypt CDS (ignoring that ludicrous $25.5 million AUM EGPT ETF, which for some ungodly reason is supposed to represent the entire Egyptian stock market) are about to bounce once again, two days ahead of the February 4-5 "Days of Rage" in Syria, and as concerns about a Suez stoppage and Saudi contagion spread yet again.

As usual below is the Al Jazeera live feed...

And this time we add the CNN live feed as well (switch to stream 2), together with a feed from Al Masriya and the Egyptian State TV.

Is the effing White House gonna SAY somethin?  Or are they going to cede the pulpit to random Senators?

The sad awful truth is, Trav, they hocked their pulpit to the Chinese and now have to sit around on the floor in the Oval Office on Afghan rugs bought cut-rate at Osama's shop just outside the beltway.

It looks over to me.  The protesters are busted up, unarmed, disorganized.

Mubarak and the West wins again.

Probably the only way it could have succeeded was if a charismatic staff officer had decided to jump the line.

Looking for a sharp correction in precious metals, maybe a buying opportunity.

You have no clue what is going on in Egypt and neither does anyone on this board.  Maybe if you were their and spoke Egyptian you might have a clue.  People may be tired and have gone home.  You have no clue who the good guys or bad guys are.  Go take some steroids.

I just though of something. Since Obama's approval ratings are around 35% and congress is like 5, can the other 65% or so protest in DC and ask him to leave the country? I mean whats the difference between him and Mubarak when it comes to public opinion? oh, wait. I know the answer. 43+ million are on government cheese so noway they will revolt.

Americans become winded as they peel their ass off the sofa for a beer during halftime.  I doubt they have the stamina for a protest.

Well Americans drool all over themselves watching HD nonsense. They wear diapers so they don't sh*t all over the couch during half time. Hopefully their lungs will fill up with their own feces.  I watched a little of web coverage on Al Jezzara/Al Qeada TV and Egypt looks a lot more civilized than much of today's America.

Detroit, Camden, NJ, much of Chicago, Philly, Oakland and many other places are far worse than Egypt.  The people are better behaved than cities in the US where a ball team wins or loses especially in an NBA final.  The idiots break up the city over some stupid ball team.

Looking at the map of Suez and noticing the Mediterranean end of the canal is in Port Said I came across an article about Egyptian pirates striking the ports.  If the anarchy continues to grow at this pace it is only a matter of time before they strike the canal.

Hannity is going to receive death threats.

He just had a Muslim on and got him to admit the end game is for everyone to be under sharia law.  Womwn would be "free" to wear burkas along with the stonings, etc.  Hannity asked him what would happen if he didn't convert.  No problem, but he would still be under the law.

Hannity ended the interview calling him a sick SOB.

Oil moving inexorably higher into weak consumers world wide.  Egypt in flames and governments succumbing to food inflation...with Jordan on deck.  The BOE all but throwing in the towel yesterday.  Ireland preparing to tell Trichet to piss off.  The largest debt bubble the world has ever seen pressing on towards DC's debt ceiling as tax revenues prepare to nose dive.  The US dollar stumbles towards the abyss.  Preferred dealers looting the treasury daily through POMO while silver supplies vanish from vaults everywhere. But hey...why worry?  US retail sales numbers tomorrow.  Rally on!

F'n theatre of the absurd.

[But I tell you what, after they nailed the door shut on the totally depraved USD stud man these last three days, all pissed off and busting down the door of L. Blankfein's closet...if he gets out tomorrow, all bets are off.  And I can hear that bastard banging away and screaming Ben Bernanke's name again.]

Oil spikes and inflation, stagflation trade.  There is no way Israel will want Mubarak gone, he pumps gas into Israel and he ensures that the muslim brotherhood stay suppressed.

Saudi's are subsidising food for their wealthy/middle class with the high oil price, so they don't want it down.  Iran could up the ante and force specs to bid oil further, all middle eastern countries will offset inflation with oil money.

China holidays will be over on the 8th feb, they will go toe to toe with Obama if he allows that maniac Bernanke to push for a QE3.

Well put -- The Arab street isnt going to be satisfied until they get their own cut of the oil money, and since nobody likes haircuts, it will mean higher prices for everyone moving forward. Using oil money to subsidize cheap bread for the minions isnt going to work any longer -- these folks want that cash in their pockets now

Washington D.C. is an affront for Tel Aviv.

Israel will prove to be the most oppressive and murderous country

and people ever on this earth. Enough is never enough.

Modus Operandi -

First they try to kill your spirit and identity. If that doesn't work

they just kill you. And they kill with impunity over and over again.

Please see map of Middle East. If the color contrast wasn't present you would have a difficult time finding Israel. Imagine your family lives there, rather that typing on a blog in your current abode, you and your family are 10 miles away from Gaza. Militants and hatred rules the day, weapons are now flowing freely via Egypt, and rather than dreaming of watching their children grow and blossom, Gaza's Hamas leadership is salivating at the prospect of sending it's children of the blow up and murder Jews and "infidels" for the chance to find paradise. All with freshly supplied weapons via a chaotic Egypt border crossing and friendly "fellow travelers" about to become partners in a new Egyptian Government. The Iranian lunatics , who gained their seat via a naive Carter administration are salivating at the new & improved  Carter in Washington D.C. , see the 12th  Mahdi being lifted from the well with Washington's help. These people dream of chaos death blood and hatred of Jews, Christians, or any other foil and they are  about to surround the red spot on the map below; Now go back and turn on Anderson Cooper or Christiane  Amanpour to tell you how brutal Mubarek is and how we don't have to worry about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. BTW, a card carrying member of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood and number two in another benign fraternity, Ayman al-Zawahiri, enjoying this movie very much.

Imagine that over the last 60 years you have ridden on the backs of White Imperialism into Palestine and stolen millions of dunams of land from people who now want it back.

No need to imagine, I suppose, since that's exactly what Apartheid Israel's ethnic cleansing policy has done.

was curious about anyone's opinion about this observation.

the US is to the east of Iran in Afghan.

the US funded and inherently owns the Egypt military.

the US most likely, will arrive with personell providing support and aid to the masses once things over there start to settle their course.

The US comes in as a Trojan horse in the name of aid.

Establishes itself peacefully in Egypt, reclaims control of it's tanks either via entitlement or force.

thereafter the US, now can use Egypt as "the base" to support Isreal, reinforce the middle east, and perhaps eventually take over the continent of Africa.

as a bonus the US can takeover Chinese interests in African resources as well as other country resources all in the name of spreading democracy and freedom.

i guess only China remains for total world domination...the rest is details.

any thoughts on this?
