This was hardly a fail. It looks like the protestors turned the water so it faced straight up. All they needed was a nail gun or some such to disable it.
Might have to think of some sort of material that can block up a water cannon. Something sticky enough to block the flow. Perhaps quick-set superglue grenade?
If you could manage to mix quick set concrete with superglue and get it into a water balloon before the superglue started to set, you would make a hell of a mess dropping that thing in the cannon while it is off.
Or just use a rubber plug with ridges (for her pleasure) and a 5 lb sledge hammer.

Who called it a fail? Only if you didn't watch to near the end of the video. That's when I started to LOL (literally). It was a beautiful sight. That dude ran up to the truck not knowing exactly what the fuck he was going to do, but it stopped. "Shades of Tiananmen," he must've been thinking to himself. Then he decides, "Hey, I'll bet there are cameras on me right now. I'ma do something to make momma proud!" Hilarity ensues.
As for your idea, won't work. That water pressure is waaaaaay too much for anything to get lodged into the spigot. The better option is to ram a metal spike into the radiator (as long as it isn't adequately armored) or something else to disable the truck.
These dudes did an admirable job, and the driver of the truck deserves credit as well for not turning them into Arabic flatbread. We can tell what side he's rooting for.
Nobody likes Mubarak. Unless they come out with absolute and overwhelming force right now (i.e. an all out bloodbath that will make the regime look even worse than it does now) then he should be packing the last of his gold and plotting a route to the nearest airfield.

As for the water cannon, the seal only has to be stronger than the next weakest seal, which is surely inside the truck somewhere, probably at the pump. Barring that, simply making it impossible to aim should suffice.
I thought the truck driver, or at least the person operating the water canon, seemed to be trying to avoid hitting those kids right in front of the truck. It appeared to me that the water canon was intentionally being aimed high almost as if trying to avoid hitting any of the protesters with full force. Still no less an admirable show of courage by the sheep.
I agree with the bulk of your comment, but these people don't deserve the "sheep" moniker. Nope, not at all. Sheep don't show courage or independent thought like these dudes. Good for them.

This is not what you think. The US and Israel kept Mumbarak in power since Sadat. We render a ton of bad guys over there and its not to see the Pyramids. This is not to say that all protesters are islamic jihad/AQ, but when you talk to the average Joe in Cairo, they sound a lot more like Tehran "students" with a brother in a Savak jail before the Shah fell. This will also be connected to the last Coptic/Christan deal in the MSM that was in the press earlier, so prepare for more crackdowns to be seen as American/Mossad operations. This will just shake out who the next pro-US military president will be. What happens on the Gaza border might be interesting - if that is ever reported.

The farm land is working out fine. It's not really a farm, just 10 acres, mostly wooded. I have about 2 acres cleard that I'm getting ready for a spring garden. It's very secluded, which is hard to find cheap in Florida. I spend a few hours every day hiking with my dog. Getting ready to do a little extened US and Canada tavel if all goes well.
As opposed to houses, commercial property and business in the city.

The difference with the Tank Man move in China was that the tank didn't have a water cannon, and obviously weren't prepared to open fire on the man. That would have proven to be a catalyst for a re-energized resistance. Whether the person commading the tank realized that or not isn't clear, they may have just not wanted to fire on a citizen. That's why the Tank Man was so effective, because the stark contrast between unarmed man in the street and massive tank would have meant crossing the rubicon.
My point being that the consequences of just firing the water cannon at this kid are minimal.

King Abdullah completed a one-month hospital stay in New York City Tuesday following two operations to repair back problems according to the Saudi Press Agency citing the Royal Court. The 86-year old Saudi monarch was sidelined from his duties in early November when his doctors recommended he rest as treatment for a herniated disc. On November 22 he was transferred to New York Presbyterian hospital for surgical treatment of “lumbar spine disc prolapse complicated by a haematoma pressing on lower nerve roots causing pain,” according to a Saudi Health Ministry official. A second surgery on December 4 was undertaken to repair several vertebrae. The Royal Court statement said King Abdullah was transferred to his New York residence to recuperate. There was no indication how long the New York recovery period would last before the King returned to Saudi Arabia.
Why call it a fail? The guy deflected the hose so it couldn't be sprayed on the rest of the crowd...Every little bit helps.
