The Estonian website this is from, is worth a look - a few bits of it are in English, including a young t-shirt model and her slogan « Stop the euro-rouble! », conveying that a new kind of foreign dominion may have arrived in place of an older one.

Clearly some Estonians have an advanced ZH-level perspective ...

The country names out of the Titanic smokestacks were a nice touch in the above, had me laughing for a few minutes - Here's the Estonian website as named in the above photo:

Time to shuffle some deck chairs...

No, they did that in 1994 already.

What a weird twist of fate.

Titanic = Estonia

The Estonia disaster occurred on Wednesday, 28 September 1994, between about 00:55 to 01:50 (UTC+2) as the ship was crossing the Baltic Sea.

I wonder if the maker of this poster is aware of this remarkable duality.

Talking about opening up another can of worms.....Better let that shit rest at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. We better NOT investigate!

Think their all in Latvia for the Baltics, but already had their devastating meltdown.  Guess Estonia is taking the rivalry seriously and also seeks to close the collapse gap.

Last time I was there they had an incredible amount of awesome/beautiful old buildings in need of maintenance and repair...  and a disproportionately high number of attractive women...  all of which looked to be hookers and/or severely skanky...  and a flock of neanderthals in pursuit.

The source of income is obvious...  and the money sink is obvious...  make it happen.

The beauty of East European women is only outdone by the savagery of the steroid packed east european men.

It almost broke my heart to leave East Europe with all the beautiful girls over there, but from personal experience I know those girls go for those Neanderthal east european men, and I am not putting my dick in a place where they have been

Honestly I have seen the most beautiful women in the world going with guys who spend 10 hour a day in gyms and wear 3 striped Adidas's toe to neck, it made me sick to see such beauties go to such low levels calling them whores would be  disrespect to whores they at least demand money

Ha ha! That was one of the few Estonian phrases my dad knew (we're Latvian).

Gads, and to think Estonia started off its independence as a relatively prosperous open market society. Now to the restrictions and bureaucracy of the EU. Should you hide in prison if there are some bad guys in the neighborhood?

Azannoth, I would say you could head to the cheapest public universities in the southern united states to find the same level/% of beautiful women, but the neanderthal bit is still prevalent...  you'll be up against the group think of frat men here...  tread lightly in their abodes if you're ever around.

Difference only being in the degree of skankiness...  although, being done up and waiting literally 3 hours for a woman to prepare is...  not any better.  All this for 2 minutes of sex???  crazy!  (clearly they just like to get done up).

think again ...

smart people the ests, they know the dollar is the actual titanic here, and a fiatcurrency of their own is at the end dollarnominated, and therefor will die, the euro will survive and be the new reserve currency when the dollar falls, it has gold marked to market in it's reserves and will not hyperinflate when the dollar does. you think one of the PIIGS will fail ? says who ? moody's ? S&P ? did they look at gold ? the ests did ...

freegold will recapitalize the lot, oil will be in euro's, and the dollar and all dollar nominated assets will burn.

Apparently many in the EU are feeling more cheery about their situation. I for the life of me don't understand all this happy days are here again attitude, but there is more of it of late. While this Gallup headline is misleading, it shows a perceived brightening economic picture. The calm before the storm? I'm confused, as usual:

While EU residents' optimism about their own personal financial situations in 2010 doesn't yet indicate a full recovery from the financial and economic crisis, Gallup surveys show some people's outlooks are slowly getting better. A median of 29% this year said their living standards were getting better, still down from 39% in 2007, but up from 22% in 2009.

Got to feel sorry for the Estonians (and Baltic Republics in general); screwed over again and again throughout history, Russians, Germans, and so forth. Only this time, it looks like they're doing it to themselves (perhaps joining the Euro to keep the Russian Bear away for good? Good luck!)

When Putin decides he needs to show who's boss (again), I doubt that Euro membership will save the Latvians, Estonians, Lithuanians, perhaps Polish.....

Thank goodness Putin seems to be smart enough to be itching for a fight. He'll let the USA grind itself into dusk and the EU flirt with insolvency. And it's not only in the EU, but all the Baltic states are in NATO, so backing out of mutual defense basically defuncts NATO.

Hopefully he'll stay out of the Baltics, nothing there for them. At least some of the "Stans" have natural gas and other natural resources.
