Everything You Need to Know About Torture
Here is a succinct executive summary of everything you know about torture:
Yes, Waterboarding IS Torture
- President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Malcolm Nance (an advisor on terrorism to the US departments of Homeland Security, Special Operations and Intelligence), Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples
(the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency) and many other
interrogation experts and high-level politicians say that waterboarding
is torture
- The United States has always considered waterboarding to be a crime of torture, including when the Japanese did it in WWII (and see this)
- Everyone claiming waterboarding is not torture has changed their tune as soon as they were exposed to even a small dose of it themselves. See this, this and this

Awesome post, GW. Also a prime example of how double-faced a lot of people are. Terrorism has long been promoted and financed by the governments as a means to keep you in check, along many other things. So torture's good too, to keep terrorists in check. But wait, we really don't torture anyone!
It's amazing, people go berserk when they have to face the truth.
Wow ... board plants on ZH. Sorta like counter-protestors in Egypt and Libya.
Ya think?
The hallmark of an excellent post that really, really pisses off TPTB is the wave of trolls that ensues. This thread has been EPIC in that regard. The oil spill threads had epic troll response too.It highlights what TPTB fear and loathe...and the lengths they will go to maintain control.
More than anything else, TPTB fear truth...the kind of truth that will end their reign.
Also, to the Torture supporters:
This is not TV. This is not fantasy, but reality. TV will have you believe that you beat the hell out of an idiot and add some weird stuff to the mix and...Waaa laa....the guy confesses all and the hero's stop a terror attack in nick of time. Or hollywood likes to produce many flicks now on Assassins. Like the one Brad Pitt and Jolie played in where they had no conscience at all and the movie made it comical to watch as they blew people away and murdered people.
This is not TV. Turn your set off.
GW: "Yes, water boarding is torture because..... everybody I know says so!" Here. here. here..... and another college student majoring in French at Berkeley wearing Birkenstocks says so, here.
Good thing I took my anti-bullshit pill this morning.
Tactics we use are legally prescribed and not bound by the popular opinion of Downing Street or constituents of the EU any more than they are bound, or subject to arrest in America, by our legal opinion that euthanasia is considered manslaughter as applied to their citizens within their public health services just to cut costs.
No... waterboarding wasn't defined as torture by the USA before 9-11. And only our legal definition matters. The CIA didn't hide it, they didn't try, because it was legal -- Nancy Pelosi, Harmon, Rockefeller were all fully briefed on it in real time in 2002. Queen Pelosi even wanted to do more! We debated it, we changed it, so get over it already.
From 2008: Senate votes to ban waterboarding - U.S. news - Security - msnbc.com
Above is the link, below is an excerpt from the 2008 MSNBC reportage when the USA senate banned it, in other words - not legally prohibited prior to that; ie - not torture, not prosecutable; ie - they did nothing wrong; ie - but, now the law has changed and henceforth it shall be treated differently:
"Hayden: Waterboarding used on three prisoners"
"CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden said last week that current law and court decisions, including the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005, cast doubt on whether waterboarding would be legal now. Hayden prohibited its use in CIA interrogations in 2006; it has not been used since 2003, he said.

If the leftists in the future scream that witholding medical marijuana is the new "torture" we'll have to go through the same bullshit all over again because that item, to my knowledge, is not currently not on the books either.
Gwar - states the facts gets junked! Go figure!
Reading anything written by GW(the author of the article not Gwar), is torturous in itself!
Good Post Gwar.
To the people here that think torture does work sometimes (the ones that ridicule those that say it never works):
There is irrefutable "proof" that torture never works. You are looking at torture from the perspective of your outcome based education you received. This is all wrong. Even if you knew 100% that you were getting accurate information (which is illogical to begin with since if you knew it was 100% correct why would you have to torture someone for information you already knew?), it still does not mean torture "works". I'm sure you were educated in the out-come based education system and that is why your thinking is based on "performance measurements".
But even if you did get some accurate info from raping and mutilating people, we still are in a lose-lose situation because people KNOW torture is going on which will create "blow-back" in one form or another.
I propose that torture is not being used to gain information. I think they are using it mainly to get people to confess to crimes they did not do. Some of the interrogative-torturer idiots might think they are getting info, but logical people know that torture does not EVER work. And logical people know that "outcome" based torture, just like outcome based education degrade people and productivity and creativity. Torture is designed to humiliate not only the those that are receiving it but entire populations and their cultures.
George Bush thinks he is a genius because he got a 92 on an IQ test; he thinks 100 is a perfect score.
Now that we have the internet the Presidents are being exposed. Imagine what all the Pre-internet president's were doing that we will never know about.
I love this process of consensus building in action
LOL...ya gotta love it.
I guess we know who the REAL bad guys are... and it looks as if its not the people who are trying to defend their homeland from murders and torturers.
George arent you being a lil hard on the Beav? couldnt you say that we where warning those people how dangerous it is to drowned, by water boarding them?
we are saving people one water boarding at a time from drowning... it is the American way of saying "we love you world".
seriously George, as always FANTASTIC job Brother!!! keep it up please, or at least until they track you down and throw you into a rehab for non-sheepeople.
I presume you are all by now quite familiar with the verb "radicalize" and its noun form "radicalization", describing the Muslims we are most fond of torturing? It's interesting that such words are never used associated with a group of Orthodox Judaics led by the Rabbis and their master rule book The Talmud, which permits rape of girls over the age of twelve, promotes murders of all non-jews (goyyim), etc http://talmudical.blogspot.com/2010/09/truth-about-talmud.html
This well explains IMO, why Cong. Peter King recently made the accusation that Muslim clerics do too little to minimize Muslim "radicalization". Obviously, King's accusation appeared all over the news. King performed a favor for Israel. Two purposes are served. It adds to the increased use of the word to further cement the word into the USA psyche. Through this, it further reminds USA citizens to look for a Muslim terrorist under every rock. The more the word is used by people in power who are respected and feared by the masses, the more likely is Israel's power increased by increasing fear and hatred for Muslims.
The more USA citizens use this term, the more it cements the fear they use to rule over us.
You couldn't pay me to watch TV now.
Why would I use the word anti semite?
That would be a compliment to you.
Of course you would find the thread afterall between Gadaffi, Mubarek and Arafat they stole hundreds of billions from their poor people, I would call that torture.
The US is wholly owned by Israel is what you posted-cannot get any further from reality without awesome drugs.
Have to be limited towards special needs to get to that level of brainless inane drivel and I generally avoid poking fun at the mentally disabled.
Say hello to Hamas/Hezbollah or whichever sharia law honoring Arab ass you lick for me. At some point maybe you can 'splain why the wealthy arabs all leave the Pals out in the cold while the westerners send them billions but then again,
I don't poke fun at the special needs.
Why is torture the norm in USA politics and culture? Because the USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Israel. Of the close to 600 national legislaters, most of the "judicial" system, and obviously any President, maybe 3-6 or so ever take a stand against Israel, the so-called beacon of democracy in the ME, where we have an "unbreakable bond" (Obama and Hillary...GW turns in his grave, read GW's Farewell Address). Congressman Trafficant took a stand against Israel, and for his trouble Michael Chertoff (later rewarded immensely as 1st Homeland Security Chief, dual citizen of Israel, an avowed Zionist...now mmaking millions of dollars selling the USA airport scanners, bless his heart) falsely prosecuted Trafficant and he spent years in prison.
Per the Talmud, the people who run Israel view every non-jew (including every non-jew supporter of Israel including every non-jew USA citizen, yes, even you suckers fighting in the "defense dept") as a non-human being. Yes, all goyyim are mongrels. "Even the best of goyyim should be killed". That means you.
It's pretty easy to torture non-humans for your personal gain, well not easy for me, but easy for them. http://talmudical.blogspot.com/2010/09/truth-about-talmud.html
This is not an anti-"jew" post. I have nothing against the jewish people but indeed their holy book the Talmud needs to be tossed yesterday. It is without question the most disgusting, hate filled, racist, and sexist book extant.
Torture is the norm now?
HAHHAHAHHAHAHAH about time for the hatebot to appear.
Proud of yourself GW? These the type of ignorant as fukk folks that hate mongering pieces such as this attract like flies to shit.
Weren't you babbling about how bad suicide bombers and ... gulp ... terrrrrrrrists are (above) and that torturing them will help win the War on Terra faster than Rocky IV ended the Soviet Union?
I would have thought that you would have used Irgun and Lehi (and the King David Hotel, the Lavon Affair, and the killing of Count Flke Bernadotte) as an historical analog for how terrrrrrrists are evil and should be hunted to the ends of the earth to make sure that they never, EVER get their way.
Oh, wait... the son of one of those Irgun guys is Mayor of Chicago.
Or perhaps you could have used Luis Posada Carriles as your example of a civilian-killing terrrrrrrrrist - the guy who admits to having blown up an airliner full of civilians.
Oh wait... his chums were on the podium at Bush's inauguration.
Suppose reading comprehension takes a back seat to imagination?
I posted the notion that torture never works is hysterical,
no need for idiotic examples, the notion in and of itself is beyond credulity. If it worked once continually insisting it never works is idiotic, WTF sodium pentethol works almost every time. Is this advocating for torture in any way shape or form? Of course not, it is pointing out how fukking stupid it is to post that it never works.
just like cloaking a US hate mongering article in some bullshit historical perspective of torture is hysterical,
just like same folks against torture regardless were against doing anything about it in the case of Hussein afterall same folks insisted those economic sanctions were working when the obviously were not.
the rest is you putting words into my posts.
something I wouldn't dare do to yours.
another spinbot.
"just like cloaking a US hate mongering article in some bullshit historical perspective of torture is hysterical,"
Since you like to laugh so much here's some more for your enjoyment...
1950s:
The U.S. carries out forced experiments on prisoners in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Unwitting victims are injected with plutonium, radium, uranium and other radioactive materials.
In a letter, Colonel O. G. Haywood of ze Atomic Energy Commission writes,
"It is desired that no document be released which refers to experiments with humans and might have adverse effect on public opinion or result in legal suits. Documents covering such work field should be classified secret."
"Viva Puerto Rico Libre!" ... can't be havin' none of that.
Occupation police, working with the FBI, develop a huge blacklist of independence supporters who, along with their families and employers are harassed and victimized for years.
In 1988, when the blacklist is challenged in court, it is discovered to contain more than a hundred thousand files.
America's most vicious retribution is saved for Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, who simply refuses to surrender his beliefs to the occupiers of his country.
He is sentenced to seventy two years in prison for attempting to exercise his theoretical rights of free speech by making twelve pro-independence speeches.
He is tortured by his American captors with massive doses of X-rays resulting in horrific radiation burns, a technique pioneered by a team of Nazi war criminals imported and hired for their invaluable skills by the U.S. government following World War Two.
Dr. Joseph Mengele... er...sorry... Stokes, of the University of Pennsylvania deliberately infects two hundred female prisoners with viral hepatitis.
The CIA under Nazi shyster Allen Dulles secretly provides funding for the construction of a wing of Georgetown University Hospital in which to carry out clinical testing on individuals of biological and chemical warfare weapons.
Dr. Charles F. Geschickter, a Georgetown doctor and cancer researcher, creates the Geschickter Fund for Medical Research to act as cover for the CIA financing, a fact which he reveals to Congress in 1977.
The Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland, one of the U.S. Army's leading chemical warfare centers, uses its team of in-house Nazi war criminals to conduct experiments on more than seven thousand American soldiers.
Using "research" documents from Auschwitz as their guide, they replicate on American soldiers the poison gas experiments conducted on concentration camp inmates by the Standard Oil/IG Farben consortium in the 1940s.
The CIA attempts to get Congress to authorize fifteen thousand CIA-sponsored "immigrants" into the U.S. Congress authorizes five hundred. The CIA ignores the Congressional limitation and spends more than one hundred million dollars of U.S. taxpayers' money illegally importing "immigrants" into the U.S. through 1960. The CIA-favored "immigrants" are, of course, Nazi war criminals whose skills and experience are eagerly sought by the U.S. government.
In experiments chillingly reminiscent of Nazi concentration camp "medical" atrocities, Dr. Saul Krugmanof New York University conducts studies of hepatitis at the Willowbrook State School, an institution for severely mentally retarded children.
Krugman and his staff systematically infect newly arrived children between the ages of three and eleven with strains of the virus obtained from the feces of Willowbrook hepatitis patients in order to study the natural history, effects and progression of the disease.
The Journal of the American Medical Association actually praises Krugman’s "judicious use of human beings."
Franz Inglefinger, who will later become the editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, says,
"By being allowed (sic) to participate in a carefully supervised study and by receiving the most expert attention available for a disease of basically unknown nature, the patients themselves benefited......How much better to have a patient with hepatitis accidentally or deliberately acquired under the guidance of a Krugman, than under the care of a rights-minded zealot."
Krugman and Inglefinger entered the U.S. after World War Two under Nazi shyster Allen Dulles' Nazi war criminal importation program, Operation Paperclip.
Damn... but this is really some funny shit.
Typcial reply from a Talmud-enabler. You forgot the term anti-semite.
I noticed you didn't contradict one word, just that you disaprove of the existence of the post. The Talmud states and demands all goyyim be murdered. Some people, apparently you are one, approve of this. I don't.
BTW, the Rabbis approved of Hitler murdering the Jews. They said it was god's punishment for not obeying the Rabbis. The Rabbis and Talumd persecute Jews just as much as they do the goyyim.
It seems that the means is being confused with the end. Waterboarding is an uncomfortable form of softening. The risk of death is minimal due to the elevated position of the legs and torso. It sucks for sure, btdt. It is a direct violation of human rights, but it is used..a lot. There is a big difference between the man in the field trying to gain intel and a politician in an office fielding calls on behalf of concerned parents. If, perhaps, I was being sliced piece by piece into sushi I would have a much more negative feeling about the method. As it is, near drowning is reversable, nigiri is not.
Ah... a paraphrase of the Yoo/Bybee memo. how effortlessly internauts can echo the scrawlings of gutless fucktards on the government payroll.
'Risk of death' has fuck all to do with anything; if I was to drill into your patella with a Makita electric drill with a 1/4 inch drill bit, your' risk of death' would be low.
If I was to mash your right hand to a pulp with a hammer, your 'risk of death' would be low. Then I would most to your feet.
If I was to electrocute you repeatedly with a non-lethal dose (something in the 500w/800mA range) your 'risk of death' would be low.
We could continue playing this game - I could continue to provide you with examples of things I could do to you (or your wife or children, while you watch) that would not be lethal and from which recovery would be - at least in principle - possible.
The thing about weaselry is that it seldom has to confront the real; you don't have to deal with having 100,000 armed ill-educated foreign fuckwits crawling all over your country, and the cadres of professional shitbags who follow them.
As to the fucktards who are touting how 'Saddam is now gone'... so is Mubarak, you fucking jerkoffs. And THAT was a genuinely endogenous overthrow. you see, people won't put up with bullshit forever (as the Yanks are finding out in the Graveyard of Empires).
Egypt happened without the need for a trillion dollar wankfest that was undertaken solely so that Cheney and his cronies would buy nicer palaces. Likewise Tunisia.
Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Algeria and even Saudi Arabia are likely to fall before this round is through - and the US , far from being a force for change, has been trying to prop up the falling tyrants at every step.
So spare everyone your moral relativism and tu quoque argumentation; if you purport to be a force for good, then you are - and should be - held to a higher account than the worst of the worst (not that Saddam fell into that category before Albright's sanctions; he oversaw the best system in the Arab world until 1991).
Your point is well taken. However, you have failed to make the determination between permanent damage and temprorary discomfort. I understand that being the uneducated (ignorant pig) that you are, that perhaps you would like your family to be subjected to sharia law. Coughing out water and having a hole drilled in your body are different means of the ultimate payment. You are so nieve to believe that choking is the same a a drill, or perhaps a blow torch. You are a fuck-tard. Only a sadistic fool would belive that permanent damage leads to truth. In reality the US system of justice does not lead to truth. It leads to a lying DA, or a lying Defense, and a nieve jury. Put your faith in the system as far as you want. You will be the fool in the end.
100% correct, many more would have been the victim of Saddam's torture.
It is amazingly hilarious the disconnect between Saddam gone and uprisings all over the middle east-I know just a coincidence. One boogeyman going down never empowers anyone or anything else to take action.
Right genuinely endogenous says you and the TV neither of which have more than a gnats ass worth of credibility.
I did notice a lot of women in the riots though, didn't you?
All three maybe?
Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Algeria and even Saudi Arabia are likely to fall before this round is through
Right Abdullah is going real far, what kind of drugs does one have to do to actually post that it is likely? The same that causes one to insist that these overthrows are not backed by anything but the peasants?
(d)
Torture is torture to me because I am being tortured. My gurgling sounds mean nothing to you, Take me from my country and drown me, but you cannot prosicute me within your court because I have committed no crime. But gurgle is all I do, taken from own country to a place of torture just in case I may be a terrorist. Now I live in servitude, no longer tortured because I was innocent but you can't set me free. So now I live in servitude.
G.W. Bush (on the Constitution): "It's a God-d@mned piece of paper!"
Obamatron: "'Detainees' at GITMO will be tried in civil courts..."
[In his defense, he didn't say WHEN they would be tried!]
Out of all the people in the World, these are the "best and brightest" we could find to lead the "free" World?? Something is wrong with this equation! :>(
As a teenager, I very nearly drowned while messing around with a bunch of friends in a lake. A couple of the guys went a little bit overboard and kept shoving me under. Panic set in each time I went under and it took all of my strength to get to the surface to gasp for a little bit of air! As soon as I got a small amount of air, I was back under and gulping large amounts of water.
Just as I was beginning to blackout and felt my body going limp, I felt a powerful arm grab me to the surface and holding me in a lifesaver grip swim me back toward the shore. He began pushing on me and I was regurgitating a large amount of water and coughing like crazy. I was sore and felt like crap for hours and had a few nightmares over the following years but that was it.
I suppose that you will now tell me that waterboarding is far, far, more horrific than actual drowning. I was in the Navy for 14 years and knew several Seals who were Waterboarded as part of their training. They all told me the same thing that it was NOT as bad as actually drowning! I got over the near-drowning. It was huge at the time but after the fact it just did not feel like that big a deal.
Just don't build your self-esteem on polemics - keep it factual and relevant to me an my children. ;-)
Forgetting the post - these fools in the comments telling Zero Hedge what to do.....that is funny.
US Americans torture alleged enemies to protect their freedoms, and their right to... ah... torture other people. Moral bankruptcy included.
I think that sums it up.
I am waiting for you....
Hi George,
Seems you hit somebody in the Pentagon, huh?
Enjoy
Give it a rest already GW, it's been almost ten years for Christ sakes, and your still hyperventilating over 3 (three!) episodes of water boarding?
And not a peep out of your bleeding heart for the carnage heaped on humanity by the other side for the 8 solid years since then, eh? I'm not sure what that says about you, but it says a lot. Do you not think there are people being tortured right now in Iran? Libya? North Korea? Syria? Don't you care even about those brown people who are real victims?
The US water boarded 3 high level terrorists and the episodes were medically supervised by physicians and these had been approved by Queen Nancy Pelosi herself. That's not how the Japanese did it if you truly want to be factual and not be guilty of willfully conflating your case (you are). And do you think they only did three? Do you think they got their panties twisted up over it at the highest levels? We did because that's how our system is supposed to work. And it worked.
If the terrorists didn't want to risk getting water boarded by the USA maybe they shouldn't have killed innocent civilian women and children and played with nukes. So far they've gotten off pretty light and I think they should have been executed a long time ago. That's why they're laughing. I can assure you that the terrorists have done much worse to dozens of our guards at Gitmo, causing permanent physical damage to many of our soldiers, babysitting those killers. 25% of those released rejoin Al-Qaeda, and we only release the "good" ones. How naive can you possibly be, GW?
The detainees at Gitmo have gained 30+ lbs and gotten rid of their lice since they've been there. I can also promise you they get better medical and dental care than you do.
And who gives a shit what Obama and Eric Holder say? Obama is giving AK-47s to the Mexican cartels that are getting our guys killed, because he tells our guys they can only shoot back with non-lethal beanbag guns. And Eric Holder doesn't believe in civil rights for anyone who is not black, and one of his people. Bleed your heart all over those, GW.
Waterboarding is prohibited in the USA now because congress voted to ban it in 2008. So, if it was already banned --- why did they have to ban it again? Simple: there was no ban as it had not been defined as torture by our protocols before 9-11. It doesn't matter what another country thinks because every country has their own lists.
Since you care about torture so much, here's some torture that you should care about. It's the real kind, not the fake kind, and it goes on many times a day, every day --- but, sorry, not in the West. (I apologize I couldn't find the one where they cut the guy's hand off in Iran -- classic. They have a mechanical machine that does it now, a sort of hand-sized guillotine. And that's what they do to their own fellow muslims because they are restrained by Sharia law not to go hog wild with them.)
Save your tears for the real victims and update your mission statement so it's relevant. Sorry, they've scrubbed some of the really graphic ones, nonetheless, don't watch them all at once:
islamic torture - Google Search
Notice the curse of Jesus, and outrage at Arab-associated torture. Why might some people approve of statements like the following, direclty from the Talmud?
“...Jesus shares his place in the Netherworld (hell) with Titus and Balaam, the notorious arch enemies of the Jewish people. Whereas Titus is punished for the destruction of the Temple by being burned to ashes, reassembled, and burned over and over again, and whereas Balaam is castigated by sitting in hot semen, Jesus’ fate consists of sitting forever in boiling excrement.”
—Peter Schäfer, Jesus in the Talmud (Princeton University Press), p. 13. BT Gittin 57a.
I tend to believe cursors of Christ, and those outraged only by torture associated with Islam, are supporters of the Talmud, or Talmud enablers.

"Do you think they got their panties twisted up over it at the highest levels? We did because that's how our system is supposed to work. And it worked."
Yup...And it's been working fucking great for over 100 years.
1906:
The resistance of the Muslim "Moro" people of the Philippines to the invasion and occupation of their country by the U.S. goes on.
The Moros total some three hundred thousand people, less than five percent of the total Filipino population, but control about forty five percent of the land area, a situation the American invaders find intolerable.
The Lord God Almighty through his representative on Earth, William McKinley, had on October 24, 1898, personally ordered the U.S. to seize the Philipppines and so the U.S. duly carries out a genocidal campaign against the "savage" Moros, destroying homes and villages, slaughtering men, women and children.
The American crusade against the Moros reaches its low point at what is euphemistically called the Battle of Bud Dajo.
About six hundred people, most of whom are unarmed women and children, seek sanctuary in the fortified crater of an extinct volcano on Jolo Island.
The Moro men are armed with less than two hundred old rifles and with knives and spears. Their "artillery" consists of rocks to be thrown at the attackers.
Major General Leonard Wood, a good buddy of Theodore Roosevelt's, leads about eight hundred American soldiers to the crater.
Artillery pieces are brought up and ranged around the lip of the crater and then used to slaughter the Moros "like fish in a barrel", killing every single person in the crater.
Among the dead are 196 women and 340 children.
The Washington Post breathlessly prints the story of the Bud Dajo massacre as the “Thrilling Story of American Valor.”
Theodore Roosevelt, not to be outdone by anyone in the murderous bullshit sweepstakes, congratulates Wood on “the brilliant feat of arms wherein you....so well upheld the honor of the American flag.”
U.S. Secretary of War William Howard Taft, cables Roosevelt that “the well-known treachery of the Mohammedan” and “the fanatical and savage desire that their women and children should perish with them” made the slaughter “unavoidable.”
It sure is a relief to know that America retains the moral high ground and that the massacre was the fault of them filthy, fanatical Muslims and not the pure, white Christian boys lobbing the shells down on their heads.
As the bodies of Muslim families rot in Bud Dajo, Taft throws a Philippine-themed dinner party.
President Roosevelt finds Taft's explanation “entirely satisfactory.”
An official whitewash, excuse the pun, quickly clears Wood of having done anything un-Christian.
Instead of swinging on the end of a rope as a mass murderer and war criminal, Wood is, appropriately enough, made U.S. Army Chief of Staff.
We will conquer the world, but we will lose our soul. John Quincy Adams
that's exactly what the street gangs in LA were saying about GHWB back in the 80's. Everyone knows where to get the AK-47's, just go to the port of entry. same shit, different faces.

Governments will do pretty much whatever the fuck they want. The solution is less, and less powerful, government. Cross our government and see where it gets you...
Torture: reading delusional leftist diatribes posted by naive GW
Torture does not work. That is "movie" b.s. And hype and propaganda. But there is no point in arguing about it. The information is in many places - not just the internet. Soldiers who carried it out under Orders are quite good sources. I don't argue with morons because it makes me feel like I am on a Sit N Spin. Waste of breath.
We are all delusional in many aspects of our individual lives. Anyone that thinks they are not is the most delusional of them all.
Leftist. Rightist....Right wing....Left Wing. You say potatoe I say potahtoe. Those types of statements are truly ignorant and meaningless but the propaganda machine do love the sheep. Bah. Bah. Bah. Keep that up.
So dim to actually believe that not one torture victim ever has given up priviledged information?
Not one in the history of mankind?
Does sodium pentethol count as torture?
Hope not because that blows the inane torture doesn't work completely out of the water.
Let me get this straight you armchair know-it-alls who are being so self-aggrandizing.....In criticizing George Washington's post are you trying to say with authority:
1. Torture works;
2. Anonymous blogging is not an authority; and,
3. And the US did not torture?
Well, firstly - anyone using the term "left wing" is an idiot. There is no such thing truly in reality despite being tossed around by so many. Just because it is said on one of the four propaganda channels does not make it so. "IrishSamurai" sounds like the Karl Rove crew who spew a bunch of nonsense all over the place.
And to the ignoramus' that believe politics and such discussions have no place in a financial blog - please go back to counting pennies out of piggy bank because you are clearly dumb and don't understand "money' whatever "money" is anymore considering its definition is changing quickly and drastically.
Finally, last time I checked - Zero Hedge is dictatorship. Zero Hedge does not want it to run then it won't but I highly doubt Zero Hedge listens to commenters re: content. No friggin' way. Then it would not be such good content.
Wonder if the "IrishSamurai" is just drunk and not getting any? Sounds like it. So bitter. So rude. So angry. Read this person's comments brought to mind the visual of the fat drunk guy at the cool party who spits and yells and everyone wonders why he is even there ..... I guess the visual could go for a girl also.
Carry on G.W. - Don't fight with Pigs. Then you get dirty and they know that.
Not only but the US invented torture just ask any of the wannabee self loating intellectuals.
Hate mongering at it's very finest.
Cloak it, spin it do whatever floats your boat,
as I already posted when the world loves the US something is very, very wrong.
"Wonder if the "IrishSamurai" is just drunk and not getting any?"
I doubt whether he would have the time to get drunk - probably spends all his time jerking off in front of a mirror - having watched hundreds of rape videos.
Poor lad, maybe he should join up and fight for his country. But he'd have to stop pulling his tiny wittle dick.
Never thought about that. I always forget about the possibility that people that support torture actually might enjoy doing it. Sociopaths. It is a mental illness and many "function" with it. Bet we could get him to admit a bunch of things if we put him in a torture room. The other possibility is gay and does not admit it. That really makes some men quite violent. And all over dick.
Where in the article is there real proof that torture doesn't work? Look at the Vietnam vets that were captured they got the shit tortured out of them and any useful info was divulged. There are plenty of regimes that have used torture aggressivley and with great effectiveness. Is it wrong absolutely but I if it doesn't work I think we would be having this conversation.
