Expanded Complaint Against 7 New "Insiders" By The US Attorney
Among the names listed are Zvi Goffer, Arthur Cutillo, Jason Goldfarb, Craig Drimal, Emanuel Goffer, Michael Kimelman and David Plate. Full complaint enclosed. Some of the illegal actions highlighted include the purchase of 710,000 shares of 3-Com by the seven. Also, the Hilton LBO once again is prominently featured as one of the misdeeds. In other news, Moody's just can't catch a break: although if they are set on sucking as a rating agency, at least they can be terrific as an information leak.

Take a look at the news for SHAW today....Chairman/CEO buys 250,000 shares a week after negative quarterly results but just before deal signed with Turkey is announced. Shares are up over 7% for a gain of over half a million dollars.
MUST BE NICE
Surely that was just a coincidence. He probably didn't know that deal was coming down the pike 24 hours later....
What was it that DeadHead said yesterday about Forrest Gump? "Stupid Does, as Stupid is told to do." Well... we'll still stick to: "Stupid is, as stupid does." Though, both clearly apply in this case. You have to wonder, WHY perfectly well educated men and women, stoop to stupid acts like this when usually, plain old hard work gets you (over time in the long haul) into the end zone of success. Who knows... Why would anyone ruin their life and careers playing foolish "insider gotcha games" like this over a few short-term bucks is beyond us.
well said as usual ar. it was someone else who posted the f. gump quote.
See there DH, I'm old and showing my age. Clearly, it is memory loss. Thus, I could never participate in insider trading, I'd forget what the previous huckster told me to buy or sell. I'll plead the 5th on that one. Funny...
I posted the adjusted quote. I stand by it. Stupid people generaly do what they are told to. Funny thing, is they don;t know why they do it.
Sorry Curby... I got so mesmerized yesterday over that inside tip on I received on SHAW, it totally screwed my memory up about your quote yesterday. Please forgive this old man? BTW: with the call sign of "Curb Your Risk," I would think you place emphasis on risk management (which today, not many seem to appreciate and is a lost art). Keep up the good work. Be well...

Wow, some comic stylings in this one ... see, e.g., count 31(c) at pp. 15-16, where we learn that being at a bigger fund "makes hiding things so much easier", and that illegal acts are made so much easier to execute when everyone keeps his phone charged ...
just another deterrent. go after the little guys (for pennies) to make it look like you are doing something to clean up wall street, while the big guys loot billions with the aid of the gov.
I dunno. I'd like to see them go after both. So, I'll cheer this move while simultaneously despairing over whether they're going after the big fish.
Why was ARM one of Galleon's biggest holdings? It's not a tech company, after all, like most of Raj's darlings were, in fact far from it. Is it because McKinsey serves ARM? Did the whole firm just keep Raj on speed-dial?
Tell you what....let's be frank....
Just how is it that not a single case of
fraud has been broght against the rating agencies, IBs, or banks....
In the S&L crisis....there were over 3000 indictments ....
This crisis far larger in size and wrong doing....
Has yielded no justice....none....
And in fact...have been rewarded and allowed to do
business as usual....
Look around....notice the three year olds around you....
Guess what....the same wrong doing clowns ponied THEIR looses on them and their children....
FEEL BETTER NOW ?
Craig Drimal Craig Drimal... if you say it fast enough it sounds like "criminal".
