Finance Explained In 69 Easy Sketches
Zero Hedge has always believed that one picture is worth ten bullet points, and ten thousand garbled, meandering, somnolent essays. On the other hand, take a picture, add a dose of sarcasm, and convert it into a aphoristic sketch, and the result is priceless, expressed in either fiat or gold. We presenting all you needed to know about finance explained in 69 priceless sketches that not even the Fed's infinite Mastercard debit account can buy.Via Behavior Gap (h/t Nolsgrad)

gold = unhappiness
I've been buying gold for many years - I am here to give you another formula:
patience *(gold + silver) = VERY HAPPY PERSON
Ah, those purchases in 1979.
No, no, no. In 1979, I was big into stocks of course. The big Dow blue chips only, there weren't index funds. Why, I was big into:
Esmark, Chrysler, Bethlehem Steel, Eastman Kodak, GM, Inco, International Paper, John Manville and Owens Illinois Glass. I still have the shares too! My John Manville wraps the gold - keeps out the moisture. My Bethlehem Steel keeps the tarnish off the silver and my REALLY REALLY valuable Chrysler shares wipe the tears from my face when I laugh my ass off at your inane posts!!!

That middlefinger looking mighty brown
Fun fact, Douchebag:
The average price of gold in 1979 was $304, so what's your point?
I get it, you don't have one. Keep on blathering!
pay go replaced by cut go? fooking gimmick circus. please, some one shoot me in the back of the head. i have some lefty tendencies but i keep calling pelosi's office and ask" how many of the 6 for ohh6 did u get done?" seriously. hang up. leave a message, thanks for calling asshole! OF COURSE IT FAILED.
...the typist in black on the floor, is so freaking hot...jussayin.

Thanks, that was a good final Venn diagram.

(Who promised never to return once gold hit $1400)
Gold equals unhappiness if you don't have any.
?? Gold=Unhappiness??
Cause riches cause misery??
The Buy High , Sell low strategy was repeated.
That was necessary to achieve the total count of 69
Perhaps it was a lesson learned many times.
Which one(s) explains PCLN's PE of 46?
Ah, here it is: http://www.behaviorgap.com/sketch/greater-fool-theory/
Greater fool theory in play today like a mofo.
LOL "She says->I hear $" is a CLASSIC!
Yep, happens to me quite a bit....
I can't believe somebody came up with 69 of those things.
+1
Had a lot of time on his hands waiting to buy da dip.
If you can't believe that then click on each one because there's a short article below all 69.
69 - it's a magic number!
the intersection of "haven't a clue about the technicals, the fundamentals, or the business model" and "figuring out what everyone else is buying before they buy it" = "priceless"
How much to save when real rate of return is negative?
Whenver i read 69 and sketches in the same sentence i expect something different!
Nice sketches though.
Just scroll down fast, squint, and use your imagination.

WTF!
Dang, that last sketch is HarryWanger!
Wanger is gonna have a lot more time to comment here, now that he's leaving his job as white house press secretary.
Hilarious
Great Collection. I'm stealing a few.

Looks like Art Laffer's tablecloth.
It's appropriate that most of those sketches look like assholes and armpits.
Do you have a graph with 'Hope' on the y axis and 'Change' on the x axis?
I smell an inverse correlation around here.
Government = Meddling
Business = Paycheck
Government < Business = Success
Don't worry. Here's Yahoo's list of more important things:
TRENDING NOWrofl
World Bank is issuing Chinese Yuan bonds, expanding international convertibility
China accelerating aircraft carriers, stealth fighters, and nuke talk.
Looks like the Chinese are really going to want their money after all
Let's offshore the Federal Reserve to raise their own army so we don't become collateral damage
No worries. Geihtner does 10 minutes a day of pointing a glock at a mirror and saying are you talking to me. Are you TALKING to me. Are you giving me LIP. Is that LIP I'm getting?
What happened to "Buy the Fucking Dip?"
A little jarring -I thought- that many of these graphs seem to have the independent variable on the y axis.
Retail, consumer, and tech stock investors are smiling right now.
Gold stock owning gloom and doomers are mired in frustration and disbelief.
Eventually, some of these guys are going to throw in the towel. I could smell a little of it today.
That was the smell of your dirty diaper, actually. Might want to get your mommy to change you before you get a rash.
it's a man baby:

Gold would have to drop another $300 before I feel dissapointed, but if that happens most likely the AUD down down and that means I probably end up ahead AUD-wise in anycase.
This gold is pretty good insurance.
No worries the disbelief is working.
When you know how the psyche works. It's easy to figure out what happens next.
