Finance Explained In 69 Easy Sketches

Tyler Durden's picture

Zero Hedge has always believed that one picture is worth ten bullet points, and ten thousand garbled, meandering, somnolent essays. On the other hand, take a picture, add a dose of sarcasm, and convert it into a aphoristic sketch, and the result is priceless, expressed in either fiat or gold. We presenting all you needed to know about finance explained in 69 priceless sketches that not even the Fed's infinite Mastercard debit account can buy.Via Behavior Gap (h/t Nolsgrad)

I've been buying gold for many years - I am here to give you another formula:

patience *(gold + silver) = VERY HAPPY PERSON

No, no, no.    In 1979, I was big into stocks of course.   The big Dow blue chips only, there weren't index funds.   Why, I was big into:

Esmark, Chrysler, Bethlehem Steel, Eastman Kodak, GM, Inco, International Paper, John Manville and Owens Illinois Glass.    I still have the shares too!    My John Manville wraps the gold - keeps out the moisture.   My Bethlehem Steel keeps the tarnish off the silver and my REALLY REALLY valuable Chrysler shares wipe the tears from my face when I laugh my ass off at your inane posts!!!

The average price of gold in 1979 was $304, so what's your point?

I get it, you don't have one.  Keep on blathering!

Looks like the Chinese are really going to want their money after all

Let's offshore the Federal Reserve to raise their own army so we don't become collateral damage

Gold would have to drop another $300 before I feel dissapointed, but if that happens most likely the AUD down down and that means I probably end up ahead AUD-wise in anycase.

This gold is pretty good insurance.
