First Wellington, Now Janus

As a reminder, Janus is the mutual fund that had the worst cash levels in pretty much the entire industry. And accelerated redemptions mean game over.

Huh?
little fish
$585 billion fund is a 'little fish'?? Damn boys...looks like we're gonna need a bigger boat...
we want to see JPM....we want a Jamie prep walk
I also would love to see a Jamie perp walk.
My personal favorite would be Stevie C.
Old grudge, I suppose.
My Vote JIM CRAMER, He even admits how he took insider info for "commish" as he calls it in his book. Bet he wishes he could recall that edition. What a PUTZ.
Lloyd, Lloyd, Lloyd, Loyd, Lloyd, Lloyd....
Tom Bailey, the founder of Janus Funds, is the type of man that most of you on this site could respect and appreciate if you actually knew him and his story.
He's a self-made Canadian that started with Boettcher in Denver and NYC, then went out on his own with very, very, little capital. He was one of the key players that made the mutual fund and 401k industry. One can only envy his exit deal with KSU.
Bailey has always treated people well. He is honorable, kind, humble, an excellent skier, a good fisherman, and has become a fine horseman late in his life. The money SAR and he spent to conserve the Mt. Sopris Ranch is admirable.
Sorry to see Janus soiled like this.
Still NMFP, THB?
They are all crooks. Go sell that Horatio Alger story somewhere else.
Lost me a bunch in 1998. I remember calling in the morning to close out and having to wait till the end of the day close. One of my first lessons in "investing" . Don't know if I've learned my lesson yet.
Your statement that he is a key player in regards to 401K's is enough to warrant dismissal of your recommendation.
The mt. Sopris Ranch !! WTF. Did he treat you well ? How much did you paid for this ridiculous endorsement ? Made the 401K "industry"; then he's a crime against humanity convictee; immediately. "One can only envy his exit deal with KSU"; I don't want any deals with the devil thank you; I've watched people dying of cancer in terrible pain for months; I'd rather that my soul was clean if you don't mind.
give me a break, HH. you are junked.
P L E A S E , mt. sopris. you don't know diddly.
baily is a pretentious ass.
hey, you want to go to bonderman's boxer party with me?
You're just going to have to settle for a pic of a tired-looking Jamie Dimon on the cover of the recent Bloomberg magazine.
UNless the check to Obama bounces, Jamie aint going nowhere, got that?
Nice JAWS reference. Fav. Quote: "...well it proves one thing Mr. Hooper. It proves you college boys don't have the education to admit when you're wrong..." Can you say, FOMC?
I wanna see paddy wagons on wall street.
I wanne see blood splats on the sidewalk.
Bankers don't contain blood. Only ice water.
But they drink it.
Money managers are not bankers.
No they suck it, like leeches...
Hey, they've got plenty of our blood in their stomachs.
Damn...almost swallowed my jelly bean..
Luv reading ZH while watching the
HFT 'putors do it to each other...
Solars are literally on fire today....burning that is.
Just like their crappy products. Waste of time, energy, materials, AND WHEN it causes your house or business FIRE, the fire department WON'T PUT IT OUT!
Not just limited to faulty wiring either, but at the very least, > 5 percent are wired faulty.
Leo last seen staggering around Toronto, puking up blood.
But in his "lucid intervals" he's investing money for other peoples retirement ! Thank God almighty my retirement does not depend on a "professional".
The shit storm cometh.
FOMC rally on the minutes as dollar drops like a rock. Always the same.
A real generational once in a life time shindig !
Yeah, it's like the thirty year's war in Europe; you wonder and wonder and hope that maybe these idiots will stop killing everybody and destroying everything, and then your children get to hope for the same thing, and still it goes on. The actual history of human beings; who are, by and large, overated chimpanzees, is not encouraging.
We must have different definitions of what constitutes a rally.
OT: the donkey kong poster always always amuses (immature perhaps, but one takes amusement where one can find it)
Are you talking about today? Because the USDX is up 0.92.
Hmmm...rallies on the minutes every time until one time it doesn't.
What the hell are you talking about, Harry Wanker?
Wow, unloading some of your gold and loading up on apple must have been a stellar play.
Got all my gold - physical and paper. Own AAPL at 300. No worries here.
Then all your rally here rally there calls are to no point because you don't trade
Wow gee youre up what, $4 on that $300 stock buy-in? Thats a fantastic rate of return percentage Harry, truely spectacular...do they have your name carved in marble on the list of Wall St legends yet?
But thats before the 1:15 rally. Wait until this baby closes on momentum!! ...wait is my chart glitched or something??
You still got all your gold Harry? So yesterday when you said it looks like a great time to dump it and buy more Apple was just a bunch of BS...see how the next day goes whether or not you say that trade was executed or not? Harry, Im really thinking about writing 'cancelled' on this $1,000 consulting fee check of yours!
Ok, you're a complete fool.
Make a call, then when it doesn't happen fall back on anything that is working. Why should anyone trust anything you say when you sell Apple the instant you hear "margin compression" then mysteriously restart propaganda slinging Apple again days later.
Please, spare everyone your input. You're like a child who never got attention, always needing attention and doing anything to get it.
At least ROBO posts the chart and makes the call after that fact. His calls are right most of the time as a result.
I don't think people will be in the mood for ipads if the Korean peninsula lights up.
IF...
wake me up IF they warm up all the Tubes.
Till then it's just theatre.
Horse hockey: you're plenty worried, or you wouldn't be saying otherwise. AAPL at 300...that stock sees 250 before it breaks 350, which means you should have a chance to cost average down on the way to 150.
Can't fathom why you are not worried about today's developments. Investigated hedge funds will dump AAPL as they get redemptions from clients who want to shift their funds.
What happened to your 'inevitable' 1 pm rally?
Was expecting the same, but even with an open admission that QE2 = dollar debasement and the FED targeting asset prices the lack of a move is somewhat unnerving.
Will reserve judgement till the EOD tho.
Yes, I thought the pop would happen immediately but today seems to be lagging a bit. Remember, any move that doesn't end below 1175 SPX is meaningless. Tested again and again and we always bounce.
Okay Harry...I'll try to remember that. Now where do I send your $1,000/hr consulting fee check to again?
Yes, the Euro drop is meaningless. Euro bond spreads are meaningless. Everything is meaningless as long as we stay above 1175. I'm sure you'll sell the moment we go below 1175, then claim to have been short since the 1220s.
Got a good chuckle out of that one...yes apparently Harry and a few others here think its the Yahoo!Finance message boards for lonely housewives.
"We always bounce---" What a moron. Another life-form who knows how to type. what a waste of electrons.
Ummm....check that Euro cross....stochastics pegged...and I mean pegged...and it could not recover even a tenth of a Euro...after this massive drubbing.
You, dear Sir, are a moron.
I say that after months of reading your comments.
At some point we all must call a spade a spade.
CB: Did I miss you in NYC???
Time waster and distraction responding to Harry's posts.
This site contains value from exchanging ideas and facts along with recognition to ZH/TD for the valuable efforts of providing such timely and relevant data.
As trolls go, he has a gift for getting flamed. Don't you guys remember when his troll career started how he said the purpose of his posting was some kind of psychological experiment? Then he toned it down, changed his icon and started at this more low level trolling. He keeps getting fed though...
Shame on us then. I feel shrunk.
We provide the narcissistic supply...
Cheeky, Good to see you back here on ZH!
Your calls have done nothing other than parrot CNBC for the last year, and when the blow ups happen you just disavow ever having a losing trade. No one is buying your mainstream media hype, Harry. I called a top 15 minutes after the new POMO schedule was announced on 11/10 in this thread. You were calling for staying long to EOY with SPX 1300. LMFAO at your pathetic calls.

Waah waah
Janus is always embroiled in some scam. This entity should have been shutdown a while back like they did to Strong funds
Watch out, the nintendo nazi's want to copyright the donkey kong phrase. (like the idiots they are).
ROFL, so why are all these firms bankrupt when they have insider knowledge? Answer, the entire system is broken. Monetarism is over, except for the people still in power practicing it.
Mutual fund timing scandal
does PIMCO do channel checks with the fed?
pisani finds the silver lining in the fed lying about targeting the dollar - he says the lying is a good thing
"does PIMCO do channel checks with the fed?"
Touche'
Sell Janus buy Netflix and CRM instead - hahaha
Janus? Again?
Pimco Pimco Pimco Pimco
If the clerk at big lots goes down then so does Bullshite Ben and his hamster master Bill Gross
Is that Janus like in "anus" that they jam us
or
Janus like in "jam us" in the anus?
They need to do raids.
Inquiries simply tell them what documents need to be "misplaced"
Jump You Fuckers! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yge311sFhC8
All this "wrist slapping" won't result in any convictions. The SEC won't bite the hand that feeds them.
who's next Franklin? oppenheimer? Fido?
Jail time is too good for these scumbags, I mean financial executives.
It's long been time for heads to roll.
Wellington, Janus, Citadel... its all just the lead-up act till we get to TBTF.
My worry is that by going after the bigger ones its all just theater. By going after so many at the same time the systemic risk card can be played and no-one can be punished but the FBI looks like its done its job
This is all big theater to make 'the too big to fail' even bigger, by busting up these funds and moving over the assets to TBTF.
BINGO...systemic risk justifies more bailouts.
There is a method to the madness...many raids at unpredictable times and places...people get paranoid and talk...if pieces get put together and the big farce gets put down. If the prosecution is successful, this could be one of the biggest and most complicated criminal case's ever...lots of plea bargaining ahead...
TBTF banks? nonono...
TBTF banks are as pure as a wind driven snow.
They will be turned into order to nail the kingpin of the caper: Waddell & Reed
pffffffft,
a few small names at mid-size firms get thrown under the bus...move on, nothing to see. all just theater to entertain the shat upon masses.
Meanwhile, TBTF asks, "what time is the next asset bubble, I don't wanna be late".
Oh, for Christ sakes, if this isn't the most elaborate effort of pulling off a dog and pony show.
The industry will get slapped with some bullshit fine and we continue as usual.
lol, we are down to two schools of
thought on this fraud: There is the Harry Wanger bull school:
"i know how to trade this fraud" and
then there is the Phuck it bear school: "I don't want anything to do with this fraud".
I'm just happy, bull and bear alike, we can all agree it's a complete
fraud.
I agree!
Agreed. I don't watch the economic numbers anymore, or watch anything but the PM prices for when to buy more. It no longer feels anything like a "market".
This is all a charade. Part of the USGVT attempting to shut down private capital so private capital stops crowding out their facist end game.
Bill Gross and PIMPco are the biggest insiders around. They are too big for perp walks tho.
Take down ALL the mutual funds...just don't touch GS or JPM
Yes, that is a good way to re-allocate 401k accounts into UST only or bankrupt defined benefits accounts. No options available.
Not sure what good
inside information is
in a market that's
40% overpriced and
led by an insolvent
sector. Kind of ironic,
ain't it?
touche'
Oooo I think I have a few grand in an old Janus IRA, maybe I'll roll it over somewhere else just to help them on their way down
Pssst....i've got an inside scoop...the banks are still insolvent.
Keep it under your hat:)
Looks like GM is going to close above $33. Day 5 is tomorrow...
Janus sucks.
Cheeky, Good to see you back!
