I haven't had as much fun since the mid 1970's when I spent three years watching the last stages of the grand final round of the "World Hide and Seek Championship". The "hider" was eventually found in a cupboard, in a disused attic of a medieval monastery in a tiny village in the mountains of Corsica. The "seeker" had searched the world over for many years. Going from Siberian swamps, the Australian outback, Mongolian yak herder camps, cliff top villas in Cape Verde he sought high and low. (Riveting television it was. The best three years of my life.) He had to beat the twenty-two year mark set by his competitor. Monty Python's Flying Circus featured an annotated version of this epic sporting battle. Those were the days...
