FOX News Creates Fraudulent Video to Discredit Ron Paul
As Paul Joseph Watson of PrisonPlanet writes:
In a shocking act of mass public deception, Fox News attempted to skew Ron Paul’s 2011 CPAC straw poll win by representing it with footage from the previous year’s CPAC event, at which Mitt Romney supporters had loudly booed the result, another example of the continuing dirty tricks campaign being waged against Paul by the establishment media.
Congressman Paul replicated his 2010 victory over Mitt Romney by defeating the former Governor of Massachusetts for a second consecutive year at the annual CPAC conference.
However, before anchor Bill Hemmer introduced a segment concerning the story, Fox News played a clip of the 2010 announcement of the poll results, during which Mitt Romney supporters had loudly booed Ron Paul’s victory, passing off last year’s footage as representative of this year’s event.
Hemmer then proceeded to state, “In the end he was the winner, probably not the reaction he was hoping for,” describing the reaction as “mixed applause and boos,” before directly asking Ron Paul if he knew who was booing him.
Now, watch the video:
Robert Wenzel comments:
This is the most incredible act of news media deception ever caught in smoking gun style. This video is a must view, and notice how the FOX anchors set up the lie and Bill Hemmer, the anchor interviewing Congressman Paul, brings the LIE right into the interview, in a further attempt to dilute Paul's victory.
These boys are scared, really scared. Get this video clip out to everyone and let people know what is going on.
Did FOX News [sic] and Bill Hemmer just have their very own CBS/Dan Rather moment?
Update per Mediaite (ht Cleve Meater):
...Fox News claims it was completely accidental. Mediaite received the following statementfrom Senior Vice President of News Michael Clemente:
“We made a mistake with some of the video we aired, and plan on issuing a correction onAmerica’s Newsroom tomorrow morning explaining exactly what happened.”
Update2: Paul Joseph Watson compiles FOX's track record with respect to Paul, providing no fewer than ten eggregious examples. A sampling:
Was it another “mistake” on behalf of Fox News to exclude Paul from a January 6 2008 presidential forum event because they saw the prospect of anti-war opinions being voiced by the most conservative member of the House as a “threat”? Was it a “mistake” for Fox News to claim that their own May 2007 presidential poll, which Ron Paul won, was unreliable, because online Paul supporters had skewed the result, despite the fact that the survey was conducted via cell phone text messaging and no online votes were taken? Was it a mere “mistake” for Fox News host Sean Hannity to deride the Texas Congressman’s runaway success in the text messaging poll as nothing more than “Paulites” flood voting, when in reality only one vote per cell phone number was allowed? Hannity’s contention that Ron Paul supporters were “were simply dialing in over and over again” was nothing more than a brazen lie intended to dismiss the Congressman’s widespread popularity. No one at Fox News bothered to correct Hannity and no retraction was issued. Was it another “mistake” when Fox News started editing Ron Paul’s name out of Associated Press stories they syndicated before the 2008 presidential campaign? (ht ShankyS)

Fox News Senior Vice President Michael Clemente issued the following statement: “We made a mistake with some of the video we aired, and plan on issuing a correction on America’s Newsroom tomorrow morning explaining exactly what happened.”
So... Anyone know if they ever issued the correction? Not that it matters (damage done).
But the point is, this "mistake" shows just how potential Ron Paul’s candidacy is this time around.
It has become obvious how dangerous Paul has become to the establishment. Case in Point: Monday morning's weekly political analysis on National Public Radio this week centered on disputes in conservative politics, emphasizing speeches at CPAC held this past weekend. The commentator (Nina Totenberg if I remember correctly) mentioned several potential presidential candidates by name and their comments but neglected, throughout her entire discussion, to mention that Ron Paul had won the straw poll. And as everyone knows, the most important news from CPAC is always the straw poll results.
The damage is done, yes, but the greater damage has been incurred by Fox. Fox already is suspect primarily because of its ownership by Murdoch and by its continuous support of the extension of American Empire through wars on sovereign countries, which Dr. Paul opposes. Fox programs featuring personalities such as Hannity and Colmes and Palin and O’Reilly all have one common ingredient -- support of war…
Fox may be an “alternative” to left wing media but no one can dispute that Murdoch’s network is the war network; it is for war.
The retraction chiron will be in subscript font, in #7F7FEF over a #7F7FFF background. It will scroll by at about sixty characters per second.
That's the standard fox game ... air a complete lie ... and then say "my bad" we'll correct it later. Do you think the average person remembers or how many watch the show 2 days in a row to catch it? c'mon.
Can't find the video on FoxNews website. Anyone know how we can make this go viral?
Fox News is the worst, all they have going for it is gussied-up whores who flash vag, and an audience so stupid theyll believe anything as long as the break in shows a flag and plays dramatic 'patriotic' music.
I find this to be amazing - they have now devolved into eating their own, get the popcorn!
Are you saying that Paul is one of the so-called conservatives supposedly adored by Faux News? Most of the idiots on there wouldn't know true conservatism if it slapped them up side the head. And if you are saying that, you're way out of the loop on the hatchet jobs Faux News perpetrated on Paul during the 2008 election.
also, there should be no "shock" that the media lies... fox proved that it is perfectly legal almost a decade ago:
Appellate Court Rules Media Can Legally Lie.
By Mike Gaddy. Published Feb. 28, 2003
On February 14, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information. The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast.
On August 18, 2000, a six-person jury was unanimous in its conclusion that Akre was indeed fired for threatening to report the station's pressure to broadcast what jurors decided was "a false, distorted, or slanted" story about the widespread use of growth hormone in dairy cows.
The court did not dispute the heart of Akre's claim, that Fox pressured her to broadcast a false story to protect the broadcaster from having to defend the truth in court, as well as suffer the ire of irate advertisers. Fox argued from the first, and failed on three separate occasions, in front of three different judges, to have the case tossed out on the grounds there is no hard, fast, and written rule against deliberate distortion of the news.
The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdock, argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves.
In its six-page written decision, the Court of Appeals held that the Federal Communications Commission position against news distortion is only a "policy," not a promulgated law, rule, or regulation. Fox aired a report after the ruling saying it was "totally vindicated" by the verdict.
Amazing. Thanks.
here is the story, worth watching:

Amazing, but not surprising from Faux news.
People love hearing others parrot their own beliefs instead of shutting up and getting perspective from more than one source.
Even more amazing is the constant drum beat of right wing media of the evil "liberal media", when Fox and Rush are the ratings champion. Never let the truth spoil a winning spin.
I sure hope that Jon Stewart/Colbert pick up on this one. Let hilarity ensue.
No way will they touch this. They bow to their corporate masters on things like this. They will do nothing that could in anyway help Ron Paul. Their silence will be notable and noted.
I am a little more optimistic.
Stewart has had Ron Paul on a couple times and treated him with respect.
See here - http://www.google.ca/search?q=daily+show+ron+paul&num=10&hl=en&safe=off&...
I am not giving a pass to anyone in media, but The Daily Show has more actual news coverage in 22 minutes than Faux has in 22 days.
that'd be good for Ronny if he became a political football between left and right media, the publicity would make him front runner come election time
dont forget, ron paul is a high degree freemason. if you sit down with a chess player, it is important to gague how many moves your opponent can think ahead.. does the establishment fear ron paul? no.. no they dont.. this is all hegelian drama playing out.
So, what? I am not an expert on the American Revolution, but as far as I remember most of Founding Fathers were masons too.
Technically speaking, if he [Ron Paul] were not a mason, it would have been more troubling. This would mean, he wants to scrap US as whole. Without Masonic Order meaningful and effective politics in the US (and any other "democracy"/"republic") is impossible.
True, that's been alleged (the high degree freemasonry), but no membership in CFR, Bilderberg group or Trilateral Commission. So, it's a start.
"..but no membership in CFR, Bilderberg group or Trilateral Commission. So, it's a start. "
Now THAT is a change I can believe in.
If it looks like he's making any headway in the beltway, it will suddenly be discovered that he is a member of the trilateral commission and a practicing satanist and a child molester.
at which point Fox will fully embrace him as the new presidential candidate..
"...ron paul is a high degree freemason."
Supporting documentation, please.
here is some:
http://aftermathnews.wordpress.com/2008/04/22/ron-paul-and-freemasonry/
I am not interested in some bullshit site, as there are many like this one.
You stated that Ron Paul IS a Freemason and a HIGH DEGREE one, at that.
Show me some documentation where Ron Paul STATES that he is a Freemason.
His Father was a Freemason and Dr. Paul has stated that he RESPECTS the organization. Many of our parents had beliefs to which we do not subscribe, but respect their views.
Put up some CREDIBLE documentation and not just a bunch of CONSPIRACY sites.
dude, it is a secret society.. you have to put on your thinking cap, think like a hegelian.
Yeah, but still. My Grandfather and Father were Masons, but the only time I've ever been in the temple, I helped carry a couple tables inside. Does that make me one too?
my father is a lifetime member, and it doesn't mean shit. My grandfather was high in the temple in his region, as well, however, I do not believe freemasonry gets very serious until one is very high in the ranks. other members are there to provide funding, much like taxpayers to our federal mafia. they have no idea about a 'grand conspiracy', but are rather networking and raising money for the childrens' hospital, etc.
..it isn't about Politics or the Media anymore, this train is already well off the rails. The Administration can be as corrupt a they want- they've already lost control.
Well on the plus side (for FOX) this discredits the widely held belief that FOX carries water for the far right.
deleted comment, wrong post response.
Why? Ron Paul isn't 'far right'
I believe the farthest right policy RP has is "anti-abortion" based in his religious beliefs. But this is also a man that refused to partake in congressional prayer session because he believes that it is divisive and goes against separation of church and state. He is anti-war/U.S. Empire/Military Industrial Complex which most associate with the far right and neo-cons. Does not support welfare to Israel (another neo-con belief) or other sovereigns. Is an Austrian economist (unlike the big money, big government GOPers for the past 30 years or more dating back to Regan at least) proposing savings and capital growth over deficit spending, debt creation or money printing (digital fantasy zero conjuring).
If by far right you mean into the fascist spectrum then no completely the opposite. Dr. Paul is against corporatist influence and kleptocracy. Also he's for currency competition so that the people have a choice over the money they can "legally" use. Additionally he's against the Fed and the insidious "inflation" tax which hurts the poor and minority populations the most and creates bigger unrest through increasing poverty than most any other monetary theory or policy.
Also unlike the far right Dr. Paul is against the "War On Drugs" (a war on most drugs but the big pharma that actually donates to political campaigns) which also impacts the poor and minorities mostly, imprisoning many for minor offenses when white collar criminals who steal billions and trillions are walking around free (with their heads still intact).
If by far right you mean the opposite of socialism then yes.
http://www.atlasshruggedpart1.com/
'nuff said.
What he said. Well. +1
ditto. +1776.
Well he's far-anti big government which amounts to sitting on both shoulders of Satan as far as the rest of the MSM is concerned.
I'm not sure what "far right" is supposed to mean anymore but I know what far left means and RP is the reverse of that in pretty much all areas that really matter.
Huh? Your post is jibberish. Milestones
An "always fair and balanced" political hatchet job.... clearly Paul is seen as a big threat to the corrupt establishment behind both FOX and the GOP. For starters he's been the only sane voice on economics and Govt spending, Fed money control and waging costly murderous wars abroad (that's alot of enemies!!!)
It's a shame FOX descends to such politically motivated muck raking given they've been the only conservative voice amongst a sea of Marxist red flags that is the corrupt to the core US media.
Democracy ...after all...it is all about who controls the media....
This automatically defaults to those that can pay the most....
This is why it is imperative to only conduct government office ...democracy issues.... solely on the internet ....free of charge....
The system of "control the media" control the country ....it's time has passed in the day of the internet ...as have paper based media....
Just look at any Latin democracy...and draw your own ...common sense ..conclusions....
And just look at how FASCIST the USA has become....
$Trillions lost...ponied on the backs of the unborn great grandchildren of the middle class....and to date...no accountability....
In the USA....you have money/control...you own the law process as well....
Trillions tranferred to the few....via fraud and collusion....and no one held accountable....
Enough said....
Fox's very existence is solely reliant on who can write the biggest checks...
In laymen's terms....FOX News are just a bunch of money whores...they walk the streets every night....looking for pay....
I cancelled my cable t.v. a few months ago now for this very reason. CNN, MSNBC, FOX ....... it's all propoganda . I do miss DYLAN, tho. But, I can find him on the net when I need a refreshing pick-me-up.
Me too. Got sick of the auto insurance and iGadget ad's. Very liberating. Still got the rabbitt ears for Letterman and the local news. More stuff (crap) over the air now with the digital TV, and the web has it all.
remember the john prine song:
ok, i do not remember the exact wording but that's close...
you are close, here is the chorus' to Spanish Pipedream
Chorus:
Blow up your T.V. throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try an find Jesus on your own
Repeat chorus:
Well, I was young and hungry and about to leave that place
When just as I was leavin', well she looked me in the face
I said "You must know the answer."
"She said, "No but I'll give it a try."
And to this very day we've been livin' our way
And here is the reason why
We blew up our T.V. threw away our paper
Went to the country, built us a home
Had a lot of children, fed 'em on peaches
They all found Jesus on their own
And don't forget the chorus of this song, very applicable to Faux News, which Prine opened at last years Bonoroo:
But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
Any yes there are a few of us old hippies still out there...:-)
I am an old woman, named after my mother, my old man is another child thats grown old. Just looking for ONE THING that I can hold onto. To believe in this living is just a hard way to go.
Ron Paul is making plenty of headway among at least two former Fox News viewers.
No surprise. We were given the choice of two lemons in 2008.
interesting. thanks.
I don't think this rises to the level of the Kennedy assassination...
If you listen to the Old Media at all, you deserve what you get.
I happend to see the interview with RP on TV. It was confusing at first. But this makes sense. Not that it should be a surprise. In the end though, it won't matter. He will be kept out. No matter what it takes. And if he does manage to make any head way, I would guess its a sure sign that the end game is closer than we think.
Integrity, Dignity, honestly, perhaps Fox believes its own sell when it thinks that common pets don't have any of these.
"Fake but accurate" what a bunch of boobs
