Fried Calamari?

Tyler Durden's picture

The weakness in leaders is spreading, with the chance of fried calamari by market close creeping higher by the minute. Watch out for those fishing boats.

Not to worry... Merrill Lynch will come out with a "triple dog dare" buy of GS to keep the interest levels high.

I felt compelled to put in "A Christmas Story" reference to keep in the spirit of the holidays...

I've said this before - look at the price of LQD and HYG since 9/30 - pretty much flat.  These shops are going to need a bond rally going into the new year to post decent revenues this quarter, since Q2 and Q3 revs were largely on the back of marking up their fixed income inventory.

I go out about 1PM for lunch I drive by Mariner HS in my neighborhood. There is a fleet of school buses leaving the school EMPYT. I have to get behind them breathing their pollution and watch them wasting gas going back to the bus barn EMPYT. I know those same school busses will have to go back to the same school EMPTY to pick up the kids when school lets out. I called Fox news today because they have been covering school bus issues. I told them, can't they just stay at the school and wait for the kids to let out? They told me they go back because of overtime issues. I told them, couldn't they just use one or two of those buses to take the bus drivers back to the bus barn and then bring the bus drivers back to the school where most of the buses are when school lets out? They told me that's a great idea, can we contact you for an interview? I said absolutely. We can save the tax payer up to 50% on fuel costs and up to 50% on wear and tear right there.

how about have the bus drivers do dual time as janitors/maint instead and they can stay there.   i don't undersand why those of us in private industry (non-unionized) must wear multiple hats,  while government (and union members) employees can only scratch their collective asses with their left hand at the top of the hour.

....and this should be required reading for every single student in America.  That way they will know they are pre-fucked and not have any misconceptions about the "American Dream".  Unless of course daddy or mommy works for the squid.  At least then they will know how they got born on third base although they'll surely still go around saying they hit a triple.

It's been in the collective conciousness for years. Here it is being expressed back in the standard oil days.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a0/Standard_oil_octopus_...

Now it's expressed in japan in 2 ways. Hentai tentacle sex porn where tentacled monsters rape teenage girls and people eating kalamari to show the squid that we have teeth. Japan is even more in the conciousness of the dangers and pervesions of monopoly conciousness than other countries as "Obtaining a dominant position" is the japanese way.

Might I add that the Japanese also manufacture the finest squid jigs on the market. Wouldn't it be ironic if it is the BOJ who put GS on the hook so to speak. Maybe ZH could sell squid jigs with their insignia on the jig.

Consumer credit like last month (or month before) is driven by securitized pool runoff. On the nonrevolve side the government has its hand out has the finance companies refuse the great deals in autoland. Enter GMAC, which I assume is now under the gov. catagory

let's think about this a second:

could it be that some of the squiddies think that they might have to take their bonuses in stock to save them from the lampposts?

if so, could they be shorting their own stock as a hedge?
