Futures charts
Starting as of this evening; everyday I will provide futures charts for the night owls. Since many of you do not have access to a Bloomberg terminal or a retail trading platform I have found the idea of providing futures charts valuable. I will post only the most significant indexes, currencies and commodities without going into individual stocks and ETFs. The point of this is, beside the aforementioned one, to paint a clear picture before the next trading day opens. So I hope you find this valuable. All futures can be seen by clicking on the link provided below the charts.
Equity Indexes
Energy
Metals
Agricultural commodities
USTs
Currencies
You can monitor all other non-listed futures here. Good night and pleasant dreams.

Thanks a ton for the goodies, Cheeky! A veritable gold mine... pun intended.
sorry to barge in with an OT CB, but methinks that many space monkeys would enjoy this video, and this seems like the best home for it:

Good show Cheeky! Good Show!
I guess you are feeling better if you are out saving the world! Or I should say I hope you are feeling better and all is well with you and yours.
You are a fantastic sport Cheeky! I like your humor, I like the fact that you give a fuck about people you don't know and I Love the fact that you care enough to share... even with people you dont know, once again.
Rock on Cheeky!
Wow ... so much love on this site!
Thx Cheeky.
Thanks this is good. Also for you all that are moved a good site is finviz.com. Free for now, and then, who knows. Handles good technical and fundemantal stuff. Be wise.
Cheekman where's the refresh button...Thanx
Damn.... sugar looks sweet
Excellent!
Thanks!
Thank you Cheeky.
Cheeky, I hope you are asleep by now. Next time please include the CJIA.
Great stuff.
TY very, very much, Cheeky!
thanks Cheeks - for the non-financial, non-traders types around here that still want to be informed for macro economic/ political reasons, thanks..besides, these days, charts are info-tainment and I don't want to have to turn on CNBC....
Thanks CB! Much appreciated.
Cheeky your my hero! I was just thinking
this morning that I wish for more info and
less essays...
Hmm... it looks like everything but PM's is in
"wait and see" mode.

Does anyone here get real-time data for VIX futures (the underlying for VIX options)? Any recommendations as to data providers?
Sumo
I once bought several contracts of VIX 20 call options with around 80 days until expiry. A couple weeks later the VIX moved from 18 and change to 25 and change and I barely broke even. VIX futures are apparently not traded much and do not follow closely the cash price. Also in further study of the charts I noticed a significant time lag between the VIX highs and the S&P lows Here is a chart that shows that http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$SPX&p=W&b=5&g=0&id=p1070464203 Hope the link works, as I have never posted a chart here before. There was some experienced option trader that was going to explain why the time lag and why the Cash VIX does not more closely follow the futures. Maybe Deadhead, Andy or Cheeky could address this topic at some point....BTW miss Deadhead and Andy lots...where are you guys???
Thanks for taking the time to do this CB - much appreciated.
Apologies in advance to all affected/offended, I need to get this into the consciousness...
Got to get the word out on this.
Deepwater Horizon Control Solution, version Deux

Updated, gentler on the eyes, with a lot more information. Please post at as many places as you can, e-mail to your buddies etc. Times a wasting.
To all the snarlers from last time, thanks for taking a look at least.
Not farming for Ip addresses or anything of the sort. Just trying to reach an informed audience, from where it might leap into a meme-esque public consciousness and to the right eyes/ears.
I'm serious and so is the problem. If the oceans go, no gold, no s&p, no forex, no SHIT.
For the thousands who did visit from this site, thanks for stopping by, do so again and if called this time, spread the word. Incredibly hard to reach people on site or at BP etc., especially sitting here in India.
Keep the faith but know that this poor black swan (literal) is beyond sad.
Thanks. You can e-mail me from the site for friendly words of advice and encouragement.
ORI, good of you to release more info of your idea. like your trim-tabs homeopathic approach. agree that the gulf/carribean is indeed a very sensitive part of pachamama, maybe analogous to the inside of ones wrist.
with that said, the chances of TPTB even coming close to understanding the earth in such a way is about slim to none. methinks there's a much greater possibility that they'll let loose a nuke on the wound before it's all over.
sorry to be the pessimist, nevertheless, your efforts may not be in vain either/or, if it helps another understand the biosystem in an alternative way. maybe mama doesn't care if we take from her, as long as we do it with respect & gentility.
Thanks for the good words Tipe.
I know it will be a battle to get heard, but as someone once said... I can feel it, something's a coming.
Will keep at it. Oil drum had a few very positive responses too.
Slowly but surely.
ES acting strong in early am (now recovered to 1155.50). I think this moves to rally through 3:00pm Wed .. maybe holds to 3:20 ... then I think it will break as people remember last Thursday.
Why do sugar and natural gas have similar trend lines?
Now I have a palladium/lean hogs spread on. Does that mean I am addicted?
Seriously, nice work cheeky - much appreciated.
great thing. I hate the fact that I am stuck not trading when the big boys do all their manipulation. this is the real advantage they hold over the regular folks.
play futures on CME like they do. mimic their moves and you too will have 100% success trading ...
Nat Gas & Sugar look to me to be possibly better bets than POSSIBLY over-priced precious metals at this point.
Would the CHF be worthwhile as contrary indicator? Or the DXY?
Euro trying to bump over 1.2700. I know the Euro is toast but methinks there may be once more decent spike to piss off all the Japanese housewives.
I want invectives -loads of them - charts are a bit boring without a personal touch and you dear Sir have a way with words that cannot be beaten. Now to the chase, if you are ever down under (depending on your perspective) a long cold beer will always be available. Birds of a feather so to speak
Thank you dear Sir. If i ever find myself Down Under Foster's on you. That said. I can easily make this an open thread discussing futures since these charts which i post here update on a 1 minute basis although its just a pasted .jpg. I fucking love finviz.
Slow Clap to Cheeky. Its great to have that kind of overview.
You can see in the equities that we touched on the regular session lows, a popular place for stops, and reversed hard north. The 50 day should be taken out easily tomorrow along with the 20 before sellers come in again (just my prediction of how GS thinks). Too many people got short on the bounce off the 50 in the regular session and GS is going to punish them.
If you make these minute charts we can use your post as an after hours commiseration site for all those west of the Rockies
yeah i fucked it up a bit there, using weekly charts. the next post is with minute charts.
I thought you went to bed?
no man. cant sleep. dont know why. tried to swim the insomnia out, but its a no go. im pirating kick-ass right now and that should lull me into la la land where bailouts work and are not bigger than 1 million dollars.

May 12 (Bloomberg) -- Blackstone Group LP, Thomas H. Lee Partners LP and TPG Capital are in talks to pay more than $15 billion including debt for Fidelity National Information Services Inc.,
david has been busy.
velo, you have a way of picking needles out of haystacks. nice find. i remember someone posting somewhere here recently about centralized consolidation of capital & information. don't remember much of it, but i do remember Fidelity being ranked in top 3.
info is the new black
No lull for the wicked! Keep charting ... gold just hit 1242.1
just saw that too.. wowzer, with silver popping too.
thanks a zillion CB, hope your dreams are unrelated to this rubbish when they do come. (images of leo's soccer team girls come to mind...)
cheers
Wowzers 100 point swing in the futures since shortly after close. We officially have a helicopter and a Concorde flying around the airspace of the Western world air dropping fiatscos at every irresponsible bank. Next sto the plug the Gulf oil leak.
Thanks for sharing the charts. When I got to the health club, Dow futures were -78. Right now, they've moved all the way up to +36. So a pretty big swing.
I think about what would happen if a financial collapse were to actually happen. People like me would be screwed. I have diabetes. Good luck getting insulin if there is a complete breakdown. So while some of you are praying for doom, I hear little about helping other people. If the only thing in your life you value is your precious shiny gold bars, is that really a life worth preserving? Just something to think about. If you say only the strong should survive, then that's fine, but then you are no different than any other mammal. That's really disappointing if we haven't evolved as a species beyond our own self-interests.
PLease make sure to yell, "ZeroHedge!" when you come onto the ranch. There'll be plenty of time for community.
You could help humanity and sacrifice yourself to the volcano in Iceland, since you believe you are going to die anyway.
....or help yourself and figure out how to live without insulin shots.
Couple of things. Even if we have any but the hardest of SHTF crashes, you're still gonna get insulin. IF... you have a means to pay for it. I have a daughter with health issues that could get dicey if the SHTF too bad. Therefore I buy gold. Not to sit on a mountain of shit I don't need, not to revel in wealth, but with the thought that a coin slipped here and there might get her to the front of the line if need be. Do I feel sympathy towards the little girl and her family waiting in line? Yes. But that is where the "survival of the fittest" you mentioned comes into play.
I'm a construction worker. Not a GS exec., or a Haliburton VP., assuming the world owes me a free pass to the front of the line. But in the last decade when things were GOOD, I still drove a used pickup even though I could afford a new one. My wife and I only go out to eat a few times a year. Basic cable. We grow most of our vegetables, make jellies, pickles, sausages, wine, can, freeze and cellar etc. And what else???? Buy physical gold and silver with the extra we have over. So, if living mostly within ones means, and having a little foresight means that I am no different than any other mammal, so be it. I will feel sympathy, but not guilt.
As to humanity, have some faith. It will begin to reappear. Some of us never lost it in the first place. Some of us will find it when we realize that simply owning gold isn't necessarily the answer.
Well said. There are plenty more of us out there too. Just not the most visible.
In my experience, and most others I'm sure, the overwhelming majority of people I have had the privilege to meet have had hearts of gold.
+1. Here's the final truth: If I am fortunate enough to have extra food, and you are truly in need, I will GIVE it to you. If I don't have enough, all the gold in the world won't buy it.
I believe the true depth of American's humanity will show itself when times get tough. Gold will only have value in a barter economy if there is something to trade it for. If you want to eat my food, a day in the garden weeding, or a morning spent chopping firewood so I can pull weeds, will get you more food than an Eagle.
