The Gods are laughing at the impotency of Central Banks worldwide; BP could potentially be named the "first sign of the apocalypse" and the rest of the World is not in good shape either. Enclaves of reason and intelligence are small, and there is only so much of them. The lunatics which chair corporations, committees and other positions of power are reluctant to engage themselves into anything that would disrupt the status quo and put at risk their bonuses and/or their summer homes. So there is nothing smart, witty or humorous to say about any of that. Charts are for monitoring purposes only and do not in any way represent the true nature of things.

Well to be fair, the article says the well is to be at a depth of 115 feet, not 5,280 like the one that blew up. I think we're still gonna need oil, unless this BP disaster turns out to be an extinction event.

babe, you should be feelin some eruptions yourself. the real unemployment rate is 19%, the u.s. is still fighting 1, 2, or 3 wars that were supposed to be over by now, british pretroleum now has an office in the west wing, goldman sachs seems to own the senate, and the fed reserve is priniting and distributing tons of benjamins to who ever they want, with no accountability, plus the bilderbergs are meeting tomorrow so that mister roc a fella and about a hundred of his buddies can give out marching orders to their puppets because they know how to run the planet.

In the libor piece (http://www.zerohedge.com/article/worthlessness-libor#comments) there was a bloomberg quote:

“There’s a lot more certificates of deposit that get issued instead of interbank lending, because they’re eligible if you want to turn them into cash more quickly,” said Keeble. “The whole structure has changed.”

Is this a reference to CDs being acceptable collateral for loans from Central Banks, or something else?

I think those CDs are used as a collateral in repos. 

But dont hold me to my word since im not sure; its just that seems like the most logical explanation. I really dont have access to that kind of info; so it would be better if you direct that question towards Tyler, or go to Wilmott.com and ask some of the people there [ since most of them are quants working on WS I think they should know more].

 

Mou will not be welcomed well by the Madridistas since they will not approve of his style. Dumb Madridistas always want to see 15 goals per game. Real Madrid = Harlem Globetrotters. But he could easily be the next Vincente del Bosque [probably the best coach Real had since 1960].
