FX Heatmaps: Epic Unwind

Tyler Durden's picture

The market is practically pricing in the end of Europe. EUR is imploding, with the only currencies worse than the EUR are the PLN and the HUF. Time to buy that Budapest castle you have had your eye on for some time.

Everyone storming into the USD

And for all those still long the EURJPY, you are in our prayers

Ya have to love how all the CNBC market touts were falling over themselves yesterday into the close about "the strong rebound, Euro found stability (for 2 hours), the market is righted, buy buy buy. Where would you invest? Everywhere. Go long and I'll throw the Hail Mary!

The JCB has to be shitting themselves right now. They can't BUY enough Euros to stem 110 now. No freaking way unless the Fed helps.

OIS and LIBOR are going to blow out along with USD/GPB & GPB/YEN.....

This event could be a direct challenge to the CBs ability to hold the economy of the world in their hands.

So how would you like to express the losses from the decades of malinvestment - would you prefer even more inflation and penalise deposit holders.

Caviar we are now in a zero-sum game  - there is no surplus to smooth over all the holders of capital.

I am always amazed at how fast things happen and then the next day it feels like slow motion when things calm a bit . I don't think there will be calm tomorrow but I have been wrong so many times before . This is like a gigantic novel with every tiny detail being thought out then finally the plot moves . Problem is I don't have any idea what chapter or page this is. the last ? the first?

Someone just woke up W.Münchau apparently

who throws many stones at the financial-transaction

tax, which I thought had been abandoned on the

Euroland battlefield:'Pseudoproblemen Spekulanten

http://www.ftd.de/politik/europa/:kolumne-wolfgang-muenchau-pseudoproble...

He does have a point with the underlying populism

of these measures, creating the impression of a safety

shield for the Euroland, powder for the masses

while the currency gets shredded...

Is there any possibility that the Germans didn't know the effect their announcement would have on the markets?  Did they tell the other finance ministers in Brussels beforehand or did they hang them out to dry at the very moment the FinMins were meeting in Brussels?

I wish I went to Europe now than last August with girlfriend. We went to Greece, Spain, and Ireland. Ironic is it because we went to nations that have debt problems. It was like 1.6 $ to 1 Euro. Now it is below. Geee I wish for a cheap "Roman Holiday."

Euro will be around as long it is above 1USD>1EU. Why? Just an intuitive thought that 1 to 1 is a mental point of no return because EU market its currency as a stronger than dollar since 2001.
