Because, like, the Fed shockingly did not say it would not monetize debt ever again, here is today's case of FX intervention courtesy, not of China, but the trading floor at 33 Liberty. If only that USD-CNY peg did not mean that Bernanke's assassination of the dollar also would lead to a destruction of the renminbi...

USD - anyone surprised by this probably should head over to www.disney.com

EUR - the ECB sure is regretting telling the world it would be prudent and sensible now...

and the JPY, which is about to break 81 and cause another parliamentary overthrow

From the looks of it, it appears tomorrow's news should send the markets on a fast and furious downtrend to take out the bottom uptrend line and smash right on throught the multi-month neckline as well. I will be watching with great anticipation as the bull capitulation begins.....

The upside of the fixed exchange is that helicopter Ben can help the U.S. government pay back the Chinese and others with Monopoly money. Furthermore, American consumers can buy real products with relatively fake money because the Chinese have agreed to a fixed value. It will be interesting to see how far the Chinese will follow us down this path essentially screwing their own people.

The Chinese have tethered their cruiser currency to our battleship currency. If we sink, they go with us...along with many others. The current currency devaluation wars are all the foreign ships of state agreeing to sink their ships simultaneously, lol! That's why you buy commodities like gold, oil and corn! Let them sink and come up with something better than fiat currency.

And of the 3 (gold, oil, & corn), there's only 1 that I can take possession of, store it, and pull it out 6 months later and it hasn't rotted and I can put in my pocket and run.

So as much as 'the other' commodities may rise, they have no comparison to gold in portability, storability & universal trade ability.

OK, I can't eat gold, I get it - but how good is that corn gonna be after 2 years in storage, hmmmm........ Just Sayin
