German-Listed Apple Shares Now Down 8%

Tyler Durden's picture

AAPL Bid/Ask:  EUR 233/249.85
Last EUR 239.5 down -20.7  (-7.96%)

And it was just yesterday that we ridiculed the Goldman brain trust for pushing everyone into the world's biggst hedge fund hotel, Apple, which is held by over 190 hedge funds. Don't look now but Nasdaq futures are about to get reacquainted with gravity.

I don't think he'll stay blocked up for long, given the last round of health scare with Mr. Jobs, but if it's a long-term sayanora, then it'll offset the Verizon launch. The "wonder twins" at the FRBNY (form of a block purchase) like fruit too much for the effects to last.

Call me naive, but unless a special apple board meeting was convened over the weekend (I doubt it but I don't know for sure), then this piece of information must already have been known by some people before the close of business on friday; which makes the release of the news on a US bank holiday almost criminal (well, at least if you are long the stock/nasdaq); maybe someone who has access to option trading tick data could inform us of any 'out of the ordinary' option activity on aapl/ndq right before the bell on friday?!

Perspective people. Yes, Jobs is an amazing innovator and visionary but the company has so many "Jobs'" products in the pipeline that it will be fine after a brief pullback.

It's only down 6-7% in Europe. That would put it at about $320-325 max pain in US. That will be a buying opportunity right before blowout earnings. AAPL traded in this range a couple of weeks ago. Not a big deal.

What this shows is the ultimate lack of depth to Apple. Much of it is illusionary froth, and Jobs is a big part of that illusion. But with the current inviolable market pyschology of buy the dips, it would not surprise me to see AAPL plunge at the opening and slowly recover tomorrow.

You know it never surprises me anymore that animal spirits are nothing more than drunken pigfest of stupidity and greed.

Yes greed is good, but pigs get eaten.

That is what happens with no succession plan, the old farts at Apple are done and hte youth there are like first generation inheritors which means they are essentially riding coat tails.and the spendign the family firtune on chicks, beer, and wine.

What's the saying? The money is gone by the 3rd generation, well here we go in the corporate world. Shame though.
