GM Head Claims It's Global Auto Market Share Has Risen- Can We Take That Back Too?

Travis's picture

Henderson says GM controlled 11.9% of the global market in the third quarter, July thru September, up from 11.6% the first half of 2009.

Can anyone say CARS?

GM's share is still down from 2008's figure of 12.4% of the global market, citing weakness in the North American markets, but other regions are performing better than expected.

I would venture China is among them, with Buick being the local favorite.

General Motors better be improving, having chopped a couple of brands, and looking to pair-off/sell a few others for sure.

All this is of no consolation of the hundreds of dealership owners who lost their franchises earlier this summer.

Does anyone want to bet on which manufacturer the Fed will tap for its auto and truck purchases? I'm thinking it won't be Ford.

More statistical BS.  The market is shrinking.  If it shrinks enough, I'm sure somebody will have 100% again.  I'm equally sure it won't be Gubment Motors.
