I guess the article was correct then.   We don't work in 1 hour time frames here.

When you have a manipulated market, a blatantly manipulated market, do technicals have any meaning whatsoever?

Well, um  ...  yes, because most market participants have no idea what moves are caused by manipulation, and will not alter their technical analyses based on a suspicion of manipulation.  Thus, they will use the technicals no matter what, and therefore they are still meaningful.

no, sorry, the situation with JPM has been bandied around the fringes of the mainstream media to the point that anyone buying a gold contract certainly knows what is going on...

i mean, we're talking about our government being complicit in outright theft and manipulation. so my thought is here, the folks buying at this point....well, they know -- having seen the government crew in action -- they know this move is doomed to failure.

the folks selling....they have faith in the magical printing abilities of Benny Boy.

to pretend that people don't know and this market is moving by "natural force"....

give me a break.....and blagovich didnt intend to sell that senate seat, right?

hello? grownups here.

Technical analysis is about the morning after.

That's not the kind of stuff you want to be listening to during the party.

I have been thinking the same thing "a manipulated market cannot have technical analysis"

The people manipulating this market may be using the technical analysis to make it look like we are in a bear market, so technical analysis then shows we are in a bear market.
