Goldman Conviction List Update: 53 Buys, 1 Sell, Apple Added Today As Goldman Top Ticks Stock

Tyler Durden's picture

One needs look no further than the recent update of the Goldman conviction list (Americas) to get a sense of how Goldman is positioning its clients: with 53 Buys, and just 1 Sell, the list is the most skewed it has ever been. That said, we are confident that going long Lockheed (the only Sell on the list) will outperform a basket of all the longs that Goldman is pitching, among which most notably Apple, which in a last ditch attempt to retain the momentum was added to the Conviction Buy list late last night, which is the most definitive factor that the stock has now topped.

....." AAPL is not a "momo stock" like NFLX or CRM. AAPL is actually very fairly valued here and future growth, as we're seeing, will be astronomical as supply continues to outstrip demand.

AAPL is a stock you put away for a long time and just let it keep growing your portfolio." .....

.... "Not true. Enterprise adaption rates for iPads and Macs have gone through the roof. The iphone is also grabbing a much larger share of corporate as well."......

....."AAPL is priced very fairly here and is relatively cheap. Watch next earnings report, which will be stellar, and you'll see over 350 in a heartbeat.".......

Harry also sold on this news immediately. So much for the long haul. When I hear this kind of stuff actually filed, it's time to leave. Margin peaks equal stock peaks.

The chart was looking very similar to when I bought at 240 so I thought I'd go with it into the holidays. But I didn't like this at all.

Yes, Harry sold so he "could get in cheaper". Then Harry bought at 300 and Harry still holds it today as it continues higher. Thanks for bringing that up though.

AAPL is the safest place, outside of PMs, where you can put your money. Look at the p/e, look at the balance sheet, look at the demand, look at the huge growth ahead.

Of course it's their top pick. They'd be foolish to choose any other stock.

If you aren't already, your name will be synonymous with the name "bulltard"...

Your name will be used in many ways, too.

"Man, my stock picks are down 40%. I got HarryWangered because I held on to these overpriced stocks too long and got really greedy."

"Did you hear about that CNBC guy who constantly HarryWangered that one stock and shortly afterwards the stock went down 30% in less than a week."

"My stock portfolio dropped more than 50% in 9 months and I feel like I'm going to pull a HarryWanger."

"Did you see me HarryWanger that pot! I can't believe it. I went all in before the gutshot draw and landed it!"

As usual, Harry - no crash will ever shut you up. Not even the tsunami that awaits..

Harry's AAPL will be surfing the tsunami with $50 billion in cash and zero long term debt.

"Dude, you see how he HarryWangered that wave?"

Classic sell signal on all those names.

As I mentioned before, look for GS downgrades or upgrades when the market is stretched in either direction, and fade that move.

Looks like many of those stocks are ready to u-turn....

I bought all the silver I could pay last week and now that I was rechecking all my sources, it seems like they are almost all sold out of silver coins :)

I think it will start to go fast from here on in the silver markets :)

OMG!  Like only 30 posts on the revelation that the criminal syndicate known as Wall Street gets long Apple...now?  And what is more, it is the criminal syndicate's king, none other than Goldman Sachs?  30 comments?

Wow, I have been working all afternoon on an essay about the ballistic comparison between 9 mm ammunition vs. .40 caliber and putting my orders in at blast'em dot com when I saw this and had to cancel my ammunition order because surely I am going to have to keep cash available to short any upward movement in AAPL shares whatever in the coming days as Apple zombies trundle through malls, that will almost certainly be closed within the next three months, spending money they do not have.

Now I confess that I have twice taken a shot at shorting this company's shares, and both times I took small losses.  But top ticking makes a very funny noise when it happens...and I think, per this story that Goldman has added Apple to the conviction buy list....LOLOLOLOL!....I heard a tick.

Now, if only I could be sure of that which I am just now seeing, Vlad Putin singing Blueberry Hill...wtf?  I think snorting coffee is hazardous in ways not yet studied, and is possibly hallucination inducing.

Abby Joseph Cohen, brilliant and precog equity analyst, has come out and stated that not only should one go long on the conviction buys, but go long with every bit of leverage one can possibly muster.

And if Abby's bullish, then I'm bullish, damnit, because Abby is one shrewd dame.

It's not like her batting average on accurate predictive advice is hovering around .112, or something like that, nor has she consistenly called the most bullest buy alerts right before nearly every market crest before crash...

...or somethin'.

I do believe we move higher from here. Lock and reload again and again...but there will be a time when there will be no time to unload.

What a farce. More restraurants closing and business's still shutting down here and people still scared. This is a recovery. BS.

And my state is bankrupt, they just will not admit it....yet.

want to see the Point/Figures right away...and then see how many are obsolete, junker-has-been companies, and so forth

...lockheed for SPECIAL investigation...what ARE they doing, what Black Budget items, eh?

When Goldman speaks...i listen...i see an assumed approximate 12% overall 12 month stock gains..that is plausible, assuming an 'old normal economy, in a mere cyclic business cycle depression'

....whereas, right off, nothing cyclical about it...a SECULAR ONCE IN 70 YEAR CYCLE IS WHAT WE HAVE..every step of which is guided/herded/engineered by Goldmans of the World...they KNOW...what "really" are THEY trading for their in-house accounts??

I have always wondered why S Jobs choose the Handle APPLE.

The Bible points us in the direction that it is the forbidden fruit from the tree of Knowledge.

I am a little vague but I don't remember that working out real well.

Now don't go junking me, it strikes me as funny, a full circle and a juicy titbit to chow down on.

Apple ......... and the World is a better place ???
