Good morning, worker drones: This Week In Mayhem
by Project Mayhem

Special US Dollar edition!!

LAST WEEK IN MAYHEM

Economic:

1) Vampire Squid steals $3bn; said to award it's henchmen record bonuses; Who says crime doesn't pay?

The idiot criminals at Goldman Sachs continue their looting of the country, with a profit of $3bn stolen with implicit government blessing and support. Hmmmm What's the word I'm looking for... The merger of monopolistic private enterprise and the State? Whatever you want to call it, there is a man from Italy who approves...

This man approves of your government!

Dylan Ratigan explains "how Goldman Sachs pulled off the amazing trick of making $3 billion in three months time, while the entire financial system collapses, foreclosures are at a record and unemployment skyrckets, and the US dollar collapses.

2) Goldman Squid Operative Hired as SEC Unit COO

Meet your new SEC Enforcement Squid, Adam Storch

The Securities and Exchange Commission hired a 29-year-old former employee in Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s business intelligence unit as the first chief operating officer in the agency's enforcement division, according to people familiar with the decision.

What Is The Rationale Behind The SEC's Hiring A 29 Year Old Goldmanite As Its COO?

While one may or may not have feelings about Goldman's tentacled capture of various regulatory agencies, the most recent news out of the SEC that it would be hiring a 29 year old former Goldman Vice President Adam Storch as its COO, questions the rationale behind this move.

Geopolitical:

1) War in Craptakistan escalates; major offensive initiated by CIA branch in Islamabad against well-armed Pakistani rednecks

Yes this has been predicted by TWIM for quite some time now.  Stay tuned for death and destruction!

U.S. Marines with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment take cover after receiving indirect fire during a patrol in the Nawa district of Helmand province, Afghanistan, Oct. 8, 2009. Marines are conducting security patrols in order to speak with residents and identify their issues and concerns. The Marines are deployed with Regimental Combat Team 3, whose mission is to conduct counterinsurgency operations with Afghan National Security Forces in southern Afghanistan. "Your papers, please!" - Refugees in S Waziristan

You win a Kalishnakov if you can find the PredatorDrone

The Pakistani army has said it has pushed deeper into South Waziristan as it battles to wrestle control of the region from the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

On the offensive's third day, the army said it had captured important strategic heights in the mountains

Up to 100,000 civilians have fled the conflict zone, according to the army.

2) Global revolt against US Dollar intensifies ; ZH staff dismisses reports as 'conspiracy theory'

a) Russia and China attempt to sink USS Failwhale ; US threatens to halt exports of securitized bond waste, world shrugs

A week ago the world was split into two camps: those who said Robert Fisk was an idiot and that anyone who believes him is a tinfoil hat wearing paranoid sociopath, and those who said Robert Fisk was brilliant and that anyone who does not believe him is an unimaginative, unintelligent, conservative boor. Yet nobody tried to confirm or deny his data. Today, Russia's Prime Minister and de facto viceroy Vladimir Putin finally made it clear that the presumably insane Fisk was not making stuff up.

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/putin-prepared-avoid-dollar-chinese-commodity-transactions

b) Latin America plan US Dollar replacement ; Chavez threatens to eliminate poverty by sheer force of will

Leftist Latin American leaders have agreed on using a new intra- regional trading currency, dubbed as Sucre, instead of the US dollar.

Bolivian President Evo Morales, who hosted leaders of the Bolivarian Alternative for Latin America and the Caribbean (ALBA), said that the "document is approved."

During the seventh ALBA summit, the leaders agreed on the currency reform as well as approving plans to impose economic sanctions against the coup leaders in Honduras, AFP reported.

c) Harper expresses concern as US Lol-dollar approaches parity, eh? ; Americans continue to make jokes at Canada's expense

Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper reiterated today he shares Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney's concern that the recent gain in the country's currency could slow the rebound from a recession.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=a4KFj5CJczBM

d) Iran to drop dollar completely from foreign exchange ; Ahmadinejad sings farewell lullaby

"Since October 2007, Iran has received 85 percent of its oil revenues in currencies other than the US dollar and Tehran is determined to find a substitute for the US dollar for the rest of its 15 percent of oil revenues, the report added."

http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=108867&sectionid=351020102

"The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) announced this week that it plans to exclude the U.S. dollar from Iran's foreign exchange reserves.

In line with this plan, Iran has informed Japan that it should use the yen instead of dollars to pay for the oil it buys from the Islamic Republic."

e) TIC: "There are not enough inflows to support the dollar"

We will provide a much more in depth analysis of Treasury TIC data, after today's monthly update, although a preliminary view provided by Jay Bryson at Wells Fargo has a conclusion that is not surprising at all: "there are not enough inflows to support the dollar." Yes, that pesky trade deficit continues wreaking havoc with the currency-stock market imbalance, and the sad conclusion is that as America becomes increasingly isolated from a trade standpoint, and the dollar keeps its downward trajectory, the stock market will rise. How that can be indicative of a stable economic turnaround is open for debate.

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/preliminary-view-declining-total-capital-inflows-and-adverse-dollar-impact

f) Global Central Banks Join The "Short Dollar" Bandwagon

"The IMF's Q2 COFER data show that central banks are increasingly reluctant to accumulate USDs. EM central banks appear much more aggressive than in the past in shifting out of the USD into other G10 currencies. This makes it likely that USD pressures will mount as, increasingly, the currency's buyers of last resort are reticent buyers." - Barclays Capital

I second it, global warming hype and organized global terrorism hype (based on 9/11 - not counting the responses to occupation blowback) are hoaxes designed to bring us into a world government - two sides of the same coin based on fear (real or promulgated - Henry Kissinger quote).

The data on global warming from NASA has been found to be incorrect due to a mistake in the calculations (the information Al Gore used for his movie and Nobel prize) and after adjustment the claims fall apart (they are in fact wrong, there is no question the science does not support it).  We are actually cooling and it's based on sun spot cycles not human based activity.  Al Gore stated to Europeans that the bill would be the first step towards world government.  This is a tax to be paid to the UN, and one of the stated goals is that it transfers wealth from the developed world to the developing world.

No American without a vested interest would vote for this (Goldman Sachs and Al Gore stand to make billions on global tax credit exchanges) as it would increase the cost of many of our utility bills and make our businesses less competitive globally.  You would only vote for this if, let's just say, you were from a less developed country like one in Africa.

this could be potential market mover, but considering that fundamentals don't matter, and the sector in which CAT operates will have MASSIVE governmental funding via the bailout, and all the liquidity present in the market and how retarded are those who trade i really don't see it happening. And i believe that call was derived from Armstrong cycle theory with a 6 month delayed variable attached to it.
