Goodbye $42...

Tyler Durden's picture

Silver is now trading at $42.10: the highest price since 1981, and ever closer to the all time Hunt Brother high, which is now just over $8 away. At this rate, and if Bolivia indeed nationalizes its silver mines, we give it a month for a new all time notional high in the metal.

Actually, folks, I'd like to point out that I was not commenting on Dick Head's grammar.  He used an incorrect homonym; the grammar used was just fine.   Furthermore, Akak's use of the comma before "and" was perfectly correct.   Note the use of the seldom seen semicolon in my second sentence.   Now, there is a scarce punctuation mark.

My quibble with you, Akak, would be the use of "intelligent" in adjectivally describing a sentence.  Sentences are simply words with no anthropomorphic aspect.   I think your sentence would have been more intelligible by using "intelligible" instead.

Yes, to be most specific, precious metals track whichever fiat is winning the moment.  This time last year, I made the call that the Euro was going from $1.35 to $1.25 in the span of a little over a month.  It hit, and I stood by gold, too, because, like I said, precious metal tracks whichever fiat is winning the moment, or more specifically, the fiat that tracks precious metal, wins the moment.  But as all fiat will fail, it matters little in the end.

Don't forget about all the social welfare programs you guys set up.  And don't forget that while you may be screwed out of the entitlements you set up for yourselves, us young ones are the ones who are really going to have to pay.  We will not have the same opportunities you had during your life.  But at least I have the foreknowledge to know that the various ponzi schemes won't be around to fail when I'm older.  I just have to pay into them now and never receive anything back.  Great deal.  Thanks for all the hard work older generations, but really we'd have all been much better off starting from scratch rather than trillions in debt.  Keep patting yourselves on the back, you meant well.

It's not as if I blame you, the trouble all started before your time as well, and I'm sure seemed like a great idea when the baby boomers were popping out left and right.  I just can't stand the attitude taken.  I took no part in forming this sytem, and never had the opportunity to object, yet I'm forced to give up 1/3 of my labor to a black hole. At least you guys had a chance.  I welcome the end of this Kensian/Fascist nightmare so we can start from scratch, rebuild and create a better system for our children.  If that chance doesn't come, I will not raise my children in this rapacious country, I will move elsewhere.

I am exposed! I am 51 years old.  In the past three years i have lived out of cars, tents and the open sky. I was awoken at three in the morning in the city of Denver by 12 law enforcement personnel inquiring why i was on the very same path that Obama would travel to the Stadium for the DNC address. Numerous guns pointed at my head, numerous questions, but no rap or record for any thing whatsoever. I was allowed to continue to sleep until morning since it was John Hickeloopers (then Denver Mayor)policy that that the homeless not be harrassed.

I worked for Obama's Presidential campaign in Henderson County North Carolina. I told my Dsistrict Campaign Supervisor tha Obama was only candy for the masses, that he was a creation of corporate advertising and that no Change would come from his election. Why would one work for his campaign one might ask? A legitimate question. In Hnderson County you had over 6000 African Americans, decendants of slaves, and a ruling ologarchy of 356 white anglo-saxon amerikkkans that had actively intimidated and persuaded the majority that it was in their best interest to no vote for ove a hundred years. I wanted the Black Chiuldren of these Families to wake up on November 3rd and KNOW that a Human Being of their own Race and EWthinicty had been elected to the most powerful office in the scam UNIVERSE. That a black man had been elected PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! That was my only motivation. I did not vote because I knew that the paradigm of right and lift, white and black, illegal immigrant vs. blue collar American was a complete sham! Still, every person of color that day was empowered! And I participated in THAT!

I am white, of catholic and protestant descent which I reject, and believe in only one thing, POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!! If we must be conscious, then we are responsible for our destiny and it has nothing to do with color, prestige or postion in a man made caste system!

It is time for us to claim our personal power of authenticity and truth and overthrow the regime that is currently attempting, quite well, to dominate the world peoples. The wealthy ARE our enemy until they prove otherwise through submission and relinquishment of their manufactured entitlements.

If necessary, eliminate them all, entitlements for the poor myASS!! Just review the FOIA request as Matt Taibbi of the Rolling Stone has so succi9ntly done. The only entitlements that exist are for the RICH. Do your homework, the truth is out there. Just because the USA govt. has spent the last 30 years dumbing down AmeriKKKa, it does not give you, Joe and Jane Q. Public the excuse to be ignorant. If you were born intellegent, and you were, you still have that intelligence to fight the Good Fight and Overthrow World Tyranny. It is completely esconced in American Goverment, Top to Bottom, from the local to the National level and it is more pernicious than ever. No employee of the government is immune, they are the enemy!

So good luck.  X and Y aren't playing into this crap.  Even if we wanted to pay for your retirement, the outsourcing of all jobs to overseas, and your willingness to participate in that, has made us unable to pay for you retirement.

The Boomers wrecked this country because they learned nothing from their parents, and had nothing to teach their children.  Every value you guys supposedly had was BS.  From make love not war, to greed is good - how much respect do you think any other generation has for you?  My parents are from the silent generation, and I'm in X, and we're in complete agreement with you guys - worthless drags on the nation.  Supposedly the boomers were the most educated generation ever, all I can say to that is Ben Bernanke is a Princeton profession - and he doesn't know crap either.

Thanks for posting, YouBet.

What you are starting to see:  The Marxists, Socialist, Progressive, Radical Left Revolutionaries in the US are taking up positions across the nation from which to launch their socialist revolution. They are taking positions in media, blogs, unions, regulatory agencies, political parties, public rallies, international forums, etc.

The unfolding economic collapse is a convenient catalyst to launch their revolution.

Contrary to what you hear on MSM, the "well armed" Conservatives (Tea Party) will NOT be the ones who initiate the coming violent revolution in the US. That bloody affair will come from the Left. History is my witness.

It is our heritage, as sons of liberty, to act in defense---not offense or provocatively. This is one of the great secrets of American strength. We were borne of decentralized armed forces, i.e. local militia. That must be, because we hold high Individualism. As a decentralized fighting force, we are weak in "offensive" and "provocative" military affairs. But, this is also our great strength. Our great strength is in "defensive" military posture. (Bravado aside, no military force on the planet, from abroad or from within, can defeat the American people on American soil.)

We just weren't built to extend military power across the globe---that simply (and humbly) runs contrary to our nature as sons of liberty.

The Socialist's revolution is coming to American soil. Sons of Liberty, fetch-up yourselves! Lady Liberty, she weeps.

Hey Rocky,

I joked a couple weeks ago when the US Mint upped the price on proof silver A-the-B Quarter sets from $32.95 to $41.95, but now, even $42/set is looking like a pretty good deal...

AGQ on options is the way we little people can have the least chance to get some FRN for physical silver before the game is over. I'd love to be all in physical, but when there is a way to leverage my position, I will take it, take the profits with the intermediate peaks, and turn it into physical. Buy the dips (lather, rinse, repeat).

It's violent, but that makes it all the more profitable (or costly).

That's too far out of the money and timeframe for me. With the volatile price action of this secular bull market, I've taken to buying 2-3 months out and either just out of the money, or just in the money. Then, I watch it close as hell. I trade in and out within the ascending channel, following the charts of traders like Dan Norcini of JSMineset.com and TraderDan.net. It's working well so far. My bacon was saved in early February after I let greed get the best of me as I erroneously expected $40 in short order at that time. So, I sold May 250 calls today as the price of an ounce of silver approached $42. It may be like last Wednesday when I sold just before the market broke $40. (Who'da thought the kabuki theater in Washington last Friday would've had such and upward effect on the PMs?) Anyway, I just waited for late Monday when the fluff of the congressional effect wore off, and a thin psychological support of $40 appeared. I kicked myself as an afterthought that I didn't daytrade a put play. But I'm near genius in retrospect trading. Bottom line was a 50% bagged in 3 days. Ok, enough. Sorry to ramble...

Battapaglia was definitely worth listening to. He used to appear on The Kudlow Report regularly.

Although Kudlow elicits nausea by flailing "green shoot" pom-poms constantly, Joe was more of a realist - at least until recently, when he also seems to have "got his mind right" along with Donald Luskin.

Still, he'll be missed.

Luskin is one of the best contrarian indicators out there.  At the bottom he was throwing in the towel; and now he is hyping the bull run.   Just do the opposite of whatever he likes.   I'll admit he's thoroughly enamored with his own spring-steel opinion, however.   When he thinks he's right, he thinks he's VERY right.
