Government Betrays Americans Again, Prepares To Drop Bank Levy To Win Support For Fin Reg

Tyler Durden's picture

Goldman off to the races as 3 reports confirm that the captured and bribed congressmen and senators are about to drop the $19 billion bank levy in order to win the support of Scott Brown and others who demand that banks gradually lose every expense item from their P&L over time, and have revenue translate to net income. We anticipate more such 11:59th hour horsetrading, as the entire already worthless bill is reduced to one ply toilet paper for Wall Street's CEOs.

That video is very scary.

Sorry Newt, there is no conection between the failure of our economic system and the "need" to abolish the separation of church and state.

yeaasssss. time a some "real change we can believe in."  As Muhammed Ali blurted out when "litte man" Joe Frazier starting clobbering "Muhammed's" ass "I thought you was washed up."  And of course while pouning the crap out of that "pretty white boy" Joey Boy retorted, "you thought wrong."  Needless to say "Muhammed" never could speak without a stutter ever again.

"They" are not only no longer trying to hide it any more but the bribes are now being announced on CNBC.

This reminds me of Roman Senators taking bribes on the front steps before walking inside to vote. It was accepted practice and it eventually became honorable and even polite to show you had the means to bribe a Senator.

Well, I got to have a nice big old shindig and invite all these fine fine gentlemen out to the homestead for a bite to eat, some good music, and some fine entertainment later back of the old woodshed.

The music will be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tqxzWdKKu8

and there's nothing like a nice piece of hickory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1Et4t2r8Sg : out back of the old woodshed.

I know we are powerless.  But we are not powerless.  See what is happening and say nothing with your mouth, but everything with your eyes.

It is not the action.  It is the intention and the memory.  Subtle is much better than actual, they will destroy themselves as they fight over fucking each other.

Pretty poor thinking and a flawed analysis.  You are correct on stating it is a shakedown, but the banks cannot avoid it.  The govt. has the big guns.  The banks did not destroy anything.  It was the borrowers who will not repay their debts, and who are told by their govt. that they are not really responsible for their decisions to borrow, who have screwed the great system.  FNM and FRE are carrying out the policies of Barney and Barry and Nancy and Harry and are broke.  Banks did not do that to them.

Sure enough, the banks are innocent bystanders.  Nobody knew that approving originating loans with no oversight and passing on those embedded risks to unsuspecting investors would cause so much havoc to the financial system.

Puh-leeze.

"who have screwed the great system."

You are beyond pathetic and contemptible.  You are either a wannabe bankster, or even more contemptibly a (and probably poorly paid at that, because you are certainly not part of their "A" team.)  shill for them.

If banks did what most of the people in the world would like them to do, (and what they should be doing) then we would not be facing the very unpleasant problems that we are facing today.

Banks should not be gambling. Ever. Banks should Never be allowed to gamble.

Banks should be a place where you can put your wealth and it is safe and secure. That you trust.

I'll bet that there is not even one single person (at the moment you can't include yourself, shill) anywhere in the world today that believes that they know of a bank that they can put their wealth in and believe that it is secure. A bank that they TRUST.

Unfortunately today there is not a bank, or government, or country anywhere in the world  that people look towards as what the standard should be.

A functional healthy society requires a functional healthy banking system. We do not have a healthy or functional banking system and consequentially our societies are not healthy or functioning well.

Either we the people wake up and MAKE our financial systems serve our societies or we lose the fight and the Banks(ters) insanely use our societies (and you and I)  as just another tool to manipulate in pursuit of their profits.

Or until they blow it all up, which won't be long if we can't stop them.

So far, stopping them is only a Pipe Dream. We're losing.

Wake up Shill. You are being used.

The baby boomers destroyed themselves and their progeny.  They decided the government knew best how to plan for their retirement and blindly accepted social security as sustainable.  They sat idly by as administration after administration raided the SS fund.  They did nothing as their money was inflated away.  They decided the government knew how to educate their children better than they.  They didn't take the lessons of their parents to heart.  They are the corrupt politicians/leaders throwing the future into the shitter.  They deserve NOTHING.

It's not that tough.  Financial reform has gotta be all or nothing.  The bank tax is stupid because it's basically a "fund" that guarantees future bailouts.

Right.  And it also makes a bailout more likely to be needed.  And when it is, it'll be a lot more expensive than what they've paid.  Besides, that money will be spent on other unrelated crap anyway.

They should tell them bailouts are over, forever.  Then they might care to manage risk properly instead of shifting that burden to regulators and ultimately taxpayers.

The markets liked the bill yesterday. Now that there is uncertainty from Brown, Byrd death and Feingold saying "This bill does not do enough" there is concern that it will be toughened.

That is why the banks are down, that is why the markets are being held hostage again and that is why Ben was at the White House this morning. The global economy and political structure is now subject to the daily market gyrations of the U.S. stock market.
