Or else we might alternatively view the Euro as the reasonable element, whereas the surrounding cultural, political and economic construct is itself the catastrophic ingredient.

Thus, the problem is not the Euro, per se, but the fundamental construct of the EU itself, more reflective of the fantasies and foibles of politicians than reality.

Indeed, the Red or Blue Pill?

This political analysis needs few calls of bullshit.
The German realities are different then presented here.
Sure, the provincial election got lost but as it looks now there will be a coalition of SPD and CDU; the one that worked before on federal level.
The next elections in Germany are some provincial elections in March 2011. http://www.wahlrecht.de/termine.htm
The German Banks lent som 30 billion Euro to Greece while French Banks lent 58 billion Euros; who is more vulnerable here?

Whatever. They are now "schmucks," just like we "dumbfucks" in the U.S.; only I doubt Johann-the-plumber will prove to be the same apathetic push-over.

Is this guy seriously suggesting the Euro start enforcing debt limits but at the same time allow monetizing debts?  "Hey guys, you shouldn't be borrowing money when you can just rob taxpayers."

That was my take too.  I'm so tired of it.

Nobel economists and government officials keep saying printing-and-devaluing is the solution to every problem.  The fact that it's defrauding the tax payers and creditors through a hidden tax isn't even a speed bump.  It's the popular convention, the single answer, to respond to every problem.

Really?  The sum total of all your over-educated neurons is to ensure everybody can print more-faster-better?

Their jobs - their very lives - depend on their ability to ignore the truth.

They'll go down squealing...

Apologies for OT content yet kinda related:
Schmuck is actually a jewelry store chain in Germany/Europe. Brings a new double meaning to fools buying DeBeers diamond manipulation product.

Then again Gute Fahrt in Europe is where you can fill 'er up high test.

In Budapest they have a major mall with a statue of Ms. Liberty dressed up like a hoe with, how shall i say this, a very eye-catching body with her 'headlights' on high beams (wish i could attach my pic of it here).

For precaution sake; use hushmail or cryptomail.

Whereas a US company like Goog - Gmail, closely linked to the PTB, certainly provides zero e-mail security from the US gov't intel agency boys and other assorted goons...

Seems the logical thing for the NSA etc would be to set up companies with names like 'hushmail' and 'cryptomail' to harvest all sorts of interesting stuff with a nice 'your e-mail is confidential with us' sales pitch ... tech safeguards might not be what they seem ...

Might be better off just using some e-mail service based in a relatively small 'harmless' seeming country, and just hoping your content doesn't set off the alarms when your e-mail is vacuumed up into the big 'pooters along with everyone else's.

In the American context schmuck likely means the same as "Schmock" in Yiddish; „Tölpel“ (= slob) translated from German.
