Guest Post: New Hampshire Man Lights Himself On Fire To Protest America's Decline
From Simon Black of Sovereign Man
New Hampshire Man Lights Himself On Fire To Protest America's Decline
Late last week, Thomas James Ball reached his breaking point. Driven
to desperation by a system that bankrupted him and destroyed his family,
Ball walked up to the main door of the Keene County, New Hampshire
courthouse, doused himself with gasoline, and lit himself ablaze.
Hardly anyone seems to have noticed.
Conversely, when a 26-year old Tunisian man lit himself on fire a few
months ago after police confiscated the fruits and vegetables he had
been selling without a proper permit, it launched a wave of revolution
across the Middle East.
People were shocked into taking action… protests and riots swept the region and one regime after another crumbled.
Rather than sparking an “American spring” and shocking US citizens
into taking their country back, though, Mr. Ball’s act of
self-immolation seems to have been largely ignored. There has been scant
coverage (and scant is being extremely generous) of Mr. Ball in the
mainstream media, and what little coverage there is generally discredits the man as a troublemaker.
This is how the system’s gatekeepers have been so adroit at
maintaining the status quo– by suppressing dissent, marginalizing the
detractors, and distracting the populace with meaningless, irrelevant
drivel.
Mr. Ball left behind a lengthy missive prior to his suicide, which
covers a range of topics from political corruption to why the family
court system in America is utterly disgraceful. He was, to put it
mildly, a staunch advocate of violent change, and it’s clear he hoped a
great deal of others would follow in his footsteps to literally burn the
system down.
(Ball even left instructions for how to make a proper Molotov
cocktail along with specific vulnerabilities of police stations in his
area…)
Perhaps the most interesting part of his final post, however, was the
observation that the United States is no longer a nation of laws; Ball
described what he calls the ‘second set of books,’ which is essentially
the collection of policies, procedures, and protocols that courts and
executive agencies rely upon.
This includes police departments and other ‘enforcers’ across the
country that come up with standardized responses to take judgment out of
the equation. TSA agents, for instance, are only following procedure
when they fondle children at airport checkpoints. Even the guys who
drove the trains to the concentration camps were just following
procedures.
Ball argued that the nation is now ruled by such procedures, even in
such institutions as family court where judges (by policy) pass the buck
down the line to mental health case workers.
His anger and desperation for this system, which tore apart his
family and bankrupted his finances, led Ball to light himself ablaze at
the local courthouse in a state whose motto is “Live Free or Die.” Ball
chose the latter.
The next day, life went on in America. There was no shocking
front-page cover story or award-winning photograph to spark a national
debate… let alone propel droves of fed-up citizens to flood the streets
demanding change.
Rather, the New Hampshire courthouse cleaned up his charred remains
and meticulously scrubbed the floors to eliminate all trace of the
event. 24-hour news networks ran a quick blurb in their scrolling
tickers amid more important coverage of the Miss USA beauty pageant and
President Obama’s Father’s Day plans.
In other words, business as usual… suggesting that if there is, in
fact, going to be a fight for the soul of the country, it’s a long way
off, and many more degrees for the boiling frogs who are stuck in the
pot.
My assessment of this situation, however controversial it may be,
remains very clear: the great faceless enemy that opposes us,
irrespective of our country of origin, is the institution of government.
Over time, this institution has inserted itself into nearly all
aspects of life, such that a man cannot so much as enjoy a pint of beer,
discipline his children, ride on the train, go to the doctor, open a
bank account, apply for a job, go fishing, or watch a sporting event
without the heavy hand of government being involved.
This is a beast that feeds on citizens; the more it feeds, the larger
it becomes and the hungrier it gets. Of all the solutions out there,
including armed conflict, civil disobedience, self-immolation, active
democracy, etc., the only one that truly destroys the beast is starving
it– take away the feast of productive citizens and accelerate its
collapse.

If parents cant work out a divorce agreement then the courts will get involved. I am more afraid of the courts than most here because I am intimately familiar with how they work.
You can let a witch doctor decide custody or provide testimony for all I care. I hate it when parents cant work it out themselves and i make a tremendous effort to help them when i am able......because i know what is in store for them if they cant agree.
If parents cant work out a divorce agreement then the courts will get involved.
No, once again wrong. Your justifications are based upon a Godless society w/o morals.
God already made MAN the head of the family. His decisions regarding the family are final. Feminists don't like it, tough. Marriage is for life!
God made woman from man's rib because he meant her to be a partner, not a servant. He did not make her from a man's heel.
Yeah, that's half the story. Why did you leave out the part where the male is the LEADER?
If your definition of Leadership requires a leash, you are doing it wrong.
That's the point of the article.
The fact that the "Second Set of Books" may be elusive....but that they in fact do exist.
Government and public servants are being directed everyday to follow the second set of books.
Why?
Because the population has been dumbed down, bullied into submission, and brainwashed into believing that constitutional laws are being followed....and that their fellow Americans would not be so bold to take license of discounting the proper protocols and disregarding the laws they have obligated themselves to uphold.
Too much flouride and lithium in the water supply. Too many designer drugs like prozac and valium. Who really knows...but the majority of America has "checked out" and could really care less about what's wrong with the landscape of their country.
I've had these conversations before with law enforcement officers....they are told by their superiors to try and get away with as much as they think they can get away with....as long as people are too stupid to know any different. I'm guessing the same goes for the judicial branch of govt. as well as entities like CPS.
My contention is that this was all unnecessary. This man (Mr. Ball) seemed to have spent alot of time and energy planning his last hurrah/exit. Had he dumped that much time and effort into his ****ed up life...I'm guessing he'd not felt compelled to "burn out" and would've faded away to try and exact some measure of happiness in the "trenches" of starting over.
I couldn't comment on what went down with his child without actually being there to witness how the situation devolved into a happening that ripped the rug out from his life and started the snowball rolling downhill.
I'm more interested in focusing on the issues that I believe deserve attention.
!. Why this hasn't received media coverage? (I have a good guess for that already)
2. Why such a large portion of the population could really care less?
This ZH forum is not a large place (audience). It's a subject that has many here fired up (I'm happy there are still groups of people that are not completely zombified and obtuse about these subjects)
Unfortunately....we are the overwhelming 'Minority' at this point in time.
Nice article
and that non-reaction is precisely why we will fall as a nation.
This is quite a story, and I admit it has stirred me up a bit. First bit of info in the story, A four year old child licks? kisses? her Fathers hand and he strikes her so hard he draws blood! sorry defenders; this is the act of a deranged person! As a consequence of that act, which was quite likely the last straw in a series of brutal irrational acts witnessed by the Mother, she calls the police and her and the children's torment is over- they didn't want him back, possibly Mother and the children are relieved because he is gone for ever! I'm sure had I been brought up as his child I would eventually have burned him in his bed, you fellows who enjoy your Bible given rights to torture children, remember...Children grow up, and they may come to visit when you aren't quite so omnipotent!
Come on - don't stop there. Make up some more crap to bolster your argument. Why not throw some sexual allegations in there too. Make him a tax cheat and a shoplifter too. And tell me how he cheated on his wife. Don't stop there - I'm sure you'll feel better if you tell us how he probably beat his puppy to death - or stomped on some kittens.
I have six and seven year old kids who come back from visitation from the father with bruises the mother photographs. The kids sometimes are sucking their thumbs and peeing on themselves for a week. The courts have never done a thing to stop visitation in those cases.
There is an extreme reluctance to prevent visitation by the father in the court system. I can only imagine what it must take for a court to finally end visitation.
And where are your pictures from this incident? Let me cut you a break - I'm a father, I am divorced, I have children - that should be enough for you to convict me of what ever crime you want and punish me how you see fit based on your pictures.
And what state/county/city do you "practice" in - same one as this guy right? If not - you might as well start throwing allegations against me and tell me what the pictures of my kids look like.
Facts - who cares? You're a woman right? I was watching the Caylee Anthony trial - you're just like her right? You're a woman - right? I saw the TV - you're probably just like her. Why aren't you locked up right now? I don't know why we even let you see pictures of children!
I can't believe what you and the rest of your kind have turned this country into. I litterally cannot believe it.
So what is your history with the courts? Have you been denied visitation?
Fortunately i am still on my first wife, and our second girlfriend!
Monotony would not have suited either of us!
See? You're already passing sentence on me - and you know nothing.
Are you pissed that Tyler isn't posting your articles? So pissed you hijack this post so you can try to push your own agenda? Quit beating around the bush and just give us the crap you want to spew so we can be done with you.
Or get back on topic and discuss "anything" that has to do with this article.
If you are divorced you have a history with the courts. There was no judgment involved. You seem overly sensitive on the issue.
I was merely.curious since you seemed upset. If you had been denied visitation or felt you were treated unfairly then it would fit in the topic of the thread
You guessed wrong again - how often are you going to guess wrong before you realize you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.
nothing better than a dead thread to start my day.
Your divorce case was filed in the courts. That is what I mean that you have a history with the courts. Even amicable no fault divorces are a court case and get filed. See...you are too sensitive.
Wrong again - you're fishing so that your assumptions don't sound so stupid - and you're coming up empty. You're throwing out fake sympathy in order to try to get some details so that you can continue with your assumptions in hopes of regaining some credibility in your own eyes. Manipulation at it's "finest". Too sensitive? Missed again.
None of which has anything to do with the original post.
All of which has nothing to do with this case.
Correction. I have six and seven year old clients, not my own kids.

If you really are part of the Family Court system, then you know how to stop it immediately.
Have the wife claim (falsely) that the father touched the kids sexually and he will never, ever see his kids again.
I do not believe what you are saying. Bruises and pictures of bruises would have ended visitation.
Maybe in other jurisdictions but not where I am. Perhaps it is worse in other states. The courts are so jam packed no one wants to re open a previous custody and visitation arrangement.
come on, lets deal with this for what it is.
This man had issues relating to a domestic dispute. Any cop on the beat will tell you stories of crazy acts of people in similar situations. His death was not a political statement on issues discussed here. Rather it was an attack on how courts deal with many issues regarding family law.
I'm surprised its taken this long for a copy-cat burning and am now wondering if Washington security officers will begin to keep extinguishers handy.
This is a shame for this man and his family. I would be careful if I was a divorce lawyer
No kidding. It is really hard to get that burnt pork smell out of the carpet.
Who is John Galt?
Who is John Galt?
Who is John Galt?
I wonder why it is so difficult for so many responders to seperate their opinions of the guy from the issues he raises? I can only guess that many dont want to look at the issues he raises, issues that involve tens of millions of Americans. And thanks to Tyler for posting an important, thought-provoking story. One wonders how many events there are like this, and the guy who flew his plane into the IRS builting, which never get picked up. Thousands, I suspect.
He doesnt raise anything new.
Case law and administrative procedure help fill in the gaps of legislation that nobody thought of at the time the law was written. Provided it is within some judges interpretation of the constitution it will stand. The benefit is this provides clarity and predictability.
We all know courts make decisions that are imperfect.
We also have his one sided self serving statement. Too bad we cant have the whole case file.
Also never go to court on your own. Get the best lawyer money can buy.

Get the best lawyer money can buy. Wrong.
Get the best JUDGE money can buy. This is America.
The bottom line Americans are still to comfortable no lines to get gas. No food, drug shortages once that safety net goes then let's talk maybe Americans might just get pissed off enough to storm the '' Bastille "

Most of my friends and family have no clue what's going they don't care. They give me crap about caring as to what's going and for being Un-American. They say who care doesn't affect me and that's what it's '' ALL '' about until it affects everyone. Nothing will happen, they watch their reality television shows and their sports and they walk around like Zombies ... The whole damn thing is sad and sick. We can only hope this lame game will come to an end soon ...

Where are all thr ACLU attorneys when a father wants visitation rights ! Where will the ACLU attorneys be when they come for your silver or your guns ? "Any government big enough to take your kids......is big enough to take your stack !"....Monedas 2011 I just wish this guy had a few drops of Timothy McVeigh's blood in his veins ?
Cant we just all encourage the crazies to target bankers and senior bondholders and boards of directors of bank holding companies and senior management?
Why does it have to get so complicated? I mean I wouldnt cry over a few judges here or there, but we gotta stay focused here guys.
Koch Brothers.. and the like.. if the Lobby Whores get in the way.. or Law Enforcement.. who works for the Lobby Whores who work for the Koch Brothers.. then it is what it is..
Ok I cant defend the cock brothers, but the rest seem like a waste of good ammo.

Who has time to notice anything unusual?
he isn't the only casualty of these shenanigans
Simon Black simply doesn't get it. The problem with gov't, is with WHO CONTROLS It. Bankster and TPTB, corporations, etc own it. Not the people. So in his mind gov't is the problem when it is just following orders? What about the people giving the orders TO gov't.
It's HOW GOV'T is used, not GOV'T itself.
Simon Black would have us fix the situation, by just removing the gov't element letting us free to be screwed directly without recourse by the same assholes that sullied gov't. Great insight there Simon 'forrest gump' Black.
Take GOV'T BACK...not drown it in a bathtub. These idiots couldn't hit the broadside of the barn with their piss.
Simon Black, forgetting the basics, as usual.
Gov't can be both necessary and wrong when it's corrupted. Gov't IS necessary, but what's wrong and what's been corrupted MUST be replaced. Another black/white thinker than can't process nuance, advocating retardedness over wisdom. When I commented on the self-immolation thread here I said there were these 'burn it all down' thinkers. Simon Black, you are one of those dipshits. Congrats, you are on the softer side of the spectrum including self-immolating dipshit who believed believing sophistry and fascism was the way back to good ol American values.
Fuck BAD gov't
But we need a gov't.
We don't need TPTB monetarists that RUN GOV'T.
Get rid of monetary ideology, and rout it from gov't, and you'd find gov't would run immensely better, and be far less prone to create the injustices, that Simon and I could agree on.
Nice sophistry Simon, instead of actually attacking the problems directly , the best way is making it so ineffective it collapses and a hundred million (more or less) could die? (which is funny since they are quite easily to identify...how do you put on your shoe? well simon black would say...we don't need no stinking shoes...even though the shoes are right in front of him) What a damn fool. No more black/white thinking using sophistry to MISS the point.
The 2nd set and passing the buck NEEDS to be changed. SO instead of focusing on THAT, which EVERYBODY should agree to, instead we must drown gov't in a bath tub? So if I need to fart, I should go find a butt plug? How about farting. Great thinking there.
Simon Black is completely wrong, and needs to get his head out of his ass. Fight the banksters, use gov't legally to route them (Glass-Steagall is a great start). But first idiots like Simon have to understand that that is the way it's done, it is achievable, and we the people have the power to USE GOV'T to redress our grievances. We just have to collectively use it on an individually committed basis about specific grievances, with ideally...specific solutions. Good thing specific grievances and specific solutions are already invented, and in many cases were once our laws (that were deregulated...because deregulation sophistry believing is the key to everything).
The self-immolation guy was an idiot believing sophistry who because he did, he came to the wrong conclusion (obviously so) and advocated violence instead of actually trying to change things. Because mindless violence beats using gov't to redress our grievances.
Simon Black and Self-Immolation Guy are just fucking stupid. Wake up dumbasses. Sophistry is your baby bottle, and if you don't choose to give it up, you'll always be a sucker for it. You'll never be free, because you are a fool, fooled by sophistry. Yeah self-immolation guy wanted us to pay off fraudulent bankster debt and advocated violence to achieve what amount to BANKSTER's getting their wishes.
So I say again, thanks to self-immolation dipshit for bringing us to attention to the '2nd set of books, and passing the buck', after that, good riddance. You were a part of the problem, and Simon Black's thinking, still is. Wake up Simon. Reality to Simon. Take specific action, don't 'drown gov't in a bathtub' damn everyone else in the process....to achieve some banksters wet dream and pay off the fraudulent debt. Nice inverse solution. Are you really paid by banksters? Free thinking people wonder.
FAIL!
Violence does work! ask a dead Lobby Whore what they are voting on for their masters next session? LULZ!!
Condemned murderers get visitation ! When a parent is denied "supervised visitation" that is cruel and unusual punishment ! This guy wasn't convicted ! It's "kidnapping" by the state ! Even if they have to put a screen between the parties.....a parent shouldn't be denied supervised visitation ! Certainly not in this case ! Where are the fucking ACLU attorneys ???? Monedas 2011 Two wrongs maybe don't make a right.....but it may be a deterrent ? Monedas Brainstorm Timothy McVeigh Alert : If he had killed the social worker.....then he could have seen his daughter on death row for 20 years then on appeal would have been granted a life sentence, a reversal or at least a painless death ! http://trololololololololololo.com/
I have a feeling your forms are soon to be stamped..... look above or below depending on your settings for my most recent post.

Welfare recipients have the decency to go away after they get their bennies.....do drugs, make more babies, whatever ! Government employees rip you off then hang around to get in your face and fuck with you ? Monedas 2011 What ever happened to good taste and refinement ?
When will all public employee, retiree, entitlee, contractor compensation and benefits be subject to the same rigorous accounting that corporations are subject to ! Omit their names and social security numbers for privacy (they are public officials ?) but not their titles ! Freedom of information ! Taxpayers have a right to know ! They are more intrusive with us !? BTW that little girl in my Avatar is my daughter Elizabeth at 4 years ! I haven't seen her in 9 years ! I'm under a no contact order ! I was never tried or convicted of anything ! I was and am a loving, devoted father ! I just happen to be white !

You are not alone.
It looks more and more like it that an Atlas Shrugged style defense against the thugs is upon us. I expect fully in line with the novel, roulation on the top of the pyramid to accelerate, panic and violence to grow, similar like with the fall of the Roman empire. Let's see if this guy has the rethorical skills to collect taxes for us. No? Then this guy. No? Throw him in the Tiber. an actor? No? Try some change: a black foreigner, a woman, a transsexual, a penis twitterrer, a robot (the patriot extension was already signed by a robot) No? No ?
I read that in the US 10 lawyers are educated for every engineer. In China 10 engineers for every lawyer. Lawyers are just panderers to the incarceration and enslavement machine. They are the prelude to real physical battle.
You need at least a hundred lawyers to equal one semi-competent engineer.
A town that doesn't have enough work for one lawyer, can always keep 2 lawyers busy.
As the root of all that is wrong in society, we devils incarnate (psychiatrists) I have to agree with this man on one item I dont think he twisted or distorted
"Judges use mental health professionals like a ten dollar whore."
Juvenile and family court judges refer everything to counseling. It is a disposition and the judges also have a second set of books to avoid jail at all costs for what are often jerry springer type issues.
I laugh when i see some of the referrals. I have to deal with them because my one day a week i work in a clinic with medicaid, medicare, and indigents is the only place that will accept these family and juvenile court referrals.
I have parents and kids come in sometimes for pretty silly stuff like bob dabolina pointed out in a post. All of them are just going thru the motions. Some of them are brave enough to tell me that this is stupid and they wont get anything out of it.
I often smile and agree, which surprises them, since they were primed for an argument.
"About the only thing you will get out of this is to be more careful next time," I say. I also say," you chose this option over the other option you were offered. I agree with you this is just an alternative form of punishment. Just be more careful next time, ok? Now you know what happens!"
Then I stamp their form so that payment will be received for services and either medicaid or indigent funding will pick up the bill as they see a poorly trained counselor who hasnt a clue what the person really thinks about them! Apparently the psychiatrist stamp is critical even though it is merely a rubberstamp. The person wants " therapy" rather than face the wrath of the court. It would be most unkind if I denied them their wish!
The people that have money and can afford attorneys get the VIP treatment. I never see them. Their cases are handled "on an individual basis" privately and discreetly.
Dont go to family court or juvenile court without a lawyer and the money to propose other options to the judge. If you have crap insurance like medicare and medicaid, or no insurance, then you "voluntarily" agree to see me and I get to stamp the forms.
This part of working with indigents and those with poor insurance doesnt interest me, but it comes with the territory. I have to laugh at the silliness of it all that the new high priests in our society are the social workers. I am relegated to stamping the forms in these cases.
It is probably a lesser sentence to see a social worker for ten visits than go to court, spend a lot of money, and have the case drag out interminably, and burn oneself, although it is a close call.
All you brave internet warriors will not fight the system. When your turn comes I will be stamping your forms too.
Sounds about right. All bureaucracies care about is that the paperwork is in order.
God help you if the paperwork is not in order.
That is the truth, my rodent friend.
Death to ALL Lobby Whores!
Death to ALL the Lobby Whores Owners!!
Re-Instate the Constitution of the United States!!!
But JW I am just the rubberstamp.
The client would hate me if i refused to certify their case for therapy. They volunteered for torture by social worker rather than roll the dice in court.
Who am I to deny them their free will?
No you won't. I rank a few notches above you in the "system." Despite department policy, the police were outside discussing how they understood that they couldn't get away with arresting me because, well, I knew better as an attorney.
I had an expensive lawyer and I fought. And I prevailed even against the weight of your bullshit system. Nothing can ever undo the damage people like you caused and enabled, to kids who were innocent.
Who should be burning right now are people just like you.
Trav....you must not have read my post....some people like you get VIP treatment. It is only the poor or those without connections who volunteer for " therapy" so they can avoid a potential greater cost and risk.
If they prefer punishment by social worker and volunteer for it they would be angry and upset if I didnt rubberstamp the case and let them take what they believe is the easy way out.
If you are poor and caught in the system then volunteering to see a therapist in the medicaid and indigent clinic is probably the easy way out.
I used the family court lawyers ! Every month they changed attorneys ! They were nice but I realize now they would not rock the boat ! They made the inference that I rejected unification services because I didn't pick up a paper from the social worker (Oh, by the way, they lie !) one week ! My attorney told me to not take the stand and vehemently deny it ! I never got the reunification services I asked for after they didn't offer them ! Well, this probably isn't the place ! I have to believe Child Protective Services do some good and necessary work ! I also no there are some horror stories of unspeakable injustice ! I am just one of many !
You are right.
The social workers will lie sometimes.
All the forms are so voluminous and complicated and one is filed here and the other filed there.....it is amazing that people somehow most of the time get it right....often after the third or fourth try.
Sure you'll be stamping my forms, who wouldn't? We are all ten dollar whores now! Everybody has to live right? Welcome to modern life!
"No Long Faces" - Dr. Ron Paul
Kick their sorry asses in from within. Use your brains. Get after it.
I too was astonished to find the cacophony of silence regarding Mr. Ball. I wonder why the MSM found this to be such a non-story. If he had torched a cat or a random bystander he would have gotten more coverage. But burning oneself is a non-event? It’s almost as much of a non-story as the guy who flew his airplane into the IRS building a year or two ago. Why the silence? I’d love to see the “2nd law” set of policies and procedures the MSM outlets use to determine “any event that illustrates anger at the Great Leader must be villified, belittled, or ignored. Any analysis of why they are angry must be stricly avoided.”
I was disturbed at the common response that some of the ignoranusus of this board had about "hit little girl, end of story." Ok, Ball probably had some anger issues and hitting his little girl was bad, bad. But there's a much bigger story at work. A bloody lip is not good. But put that into the context of one's life and it's an insignificant issue. That little girl is going to get knocked around a lot harder over the duration of her life and she must learn to deal with other people. And loosing her father and having a helpless and hysterical mother is likely to prove far more damaging than some slightly brutal parental discipline would have.
You will notice that there is a systematic effort to destroy every element of power that's not .gov. Your farms and small businesses are smothered by taxes and onerous rules. Even the big businesses which seek to whore themselves out to .gov are finding this devil's deal to be untenable and are increasingly treated like the whores they are. Nuclear power has died due to the latest scare. Other inherently safer designs and approaches are not on the radar, pushed off the table by the One Big Scare. State and local .gov have long had their hands tied with unfunded mandates. I leave it as an exercise for the readers to find other examples.
But overt oppression is not the worst of it. The most insidious element of this annihilation of power is the use of borrowed money to buy obedience and silence. You give a man a fish if you wish to prevent him from learning how to fish, not because you actually give a shit about his well being. Look at what this has done to your own family. The American culture has let the concept of family wither. In our "roles" as children, we have no need to take care of the parents because Uncle Sugar and insurance will do that for us. We can ignore a duty and look after our own self-involvement instead. As parents, we do not need to care for our children either. We will not need to pay for their higher education because the EZ money fairy will do that for us. Nor do we particularly need to foster the good will of our parents or our children because we can take care of ourselves, and they can take care of themselves. All of this pseduo-independence has a foundation of EZ money. It has destroyed the bonds between family. A powerful tribe of people who were once able to fend for themselves is now little mice feeding at the trough. Unable to survive without a constant supply of feed pellets, they worship the farmer who feeds them, never questions his motives, and would certainly be unable to understand them even if informed of them.
At the core of the annihilation of the family is the attack on the parent-child relationship. Raising children is a difficult thing to do. There is also a very murky boundary between using reason and using force. The fact of the matter is, that children are new human beings and they are trying to figure out how to accomplish their goals. Obedience to law and morality is an abstraction that they don't get. All they know is what they can and cannot get away with. A strong, but loving father who sets an example but cannot be fucked with is considered by most people in today's world to be a barbaric relic of the past. A brutish caveman who only knows how to beat and terrorize his women and children. If that monster is neutered than all will be good.
But if children do not have the threat of retaliatory force from their parents, then they learn that the parents do not count. The parents do not provide them with their livelihood, nor can they harm them. Therefore they are unimportant. What guidance or leadership can such a parent offer then? How many out-of-control teenagers have you ever seen that are being “raised” by single mothers?
Retaliatory force at the hands of parents, most of who care about the child, is a last resort, but it must exist. Retaliatory force is a large component in the world of dealing with other people, and all children must learn how to deal with it. In a world where retaliatory force has been smothered, guess who has it all and is not afraid to use it?
who created this nanny state? Women combined with dickless guys vainly trying to get laid by them
Another excellent reason for taking out the social worker ! At least your predicament will get some air time ! I think a lot us don't approve of the imolation protest ! If he was willing to pay the ultimate price.....he could have got a lot more for his money (his life) than a black stain on their doorstep ! He made it too easy for them ! He kind of wimped out in the effectiveness department ! Monedas 2011 On the other hand, maybe he lit a fuse to a time bomb ? It is a case that haunts your conscience and maybe snowballs ?
The fruit stand self-immolator had resonance because people had been hungry. The first world never gets hungry... not in big enough numbers to acheive sympathetic resonance.
EVERYONE!
Just be quiet, know your role & pay your taxes.
That is all.
Feminists, in my opinion, were created by the Federal Reserve. I takes at least two incomes to make up the purchasing power of the dollar.
Ball may not be the poster boy to rally around, who else comes to mind?
The future is now be prepared.
eh...women worked their asses off during WW2 as many of the men were deployed fighting. Then, when the war was over, they pretty gladly reassumed the feminine roles they preferred.
Nowadays, with this risk-free structure men have created, why bother with a man? Sure, men's function is ever-present, police, fire, the power lines in the middle of a storm, oil rigs, coal mines, construction, all the work women can't be bothered to do. But there are "men" atop this pyramid who find riches in using women as a voting bloc. And lots of ball-less scumbag men who think they are scoring brownie points and will get some pussy by knuckling under to everything women say.
The good news is that patriarchies outbreed matriarchies. The "conservative" population proportion is growing, because the libs are too dipshit to have kids. Look at birthrate trends all over the world. Eventually, it comes to violence and more men=win.
It would surprise me if you weren't divorced at least once. I am not surprised you had a close call with the police. Narcissists sometimes miscalculate, even intelligent ones.
However maybe you found a woman with stockholm syndrome or a bible thumper.
You just don't strike me as the bible thumper type, or the kind of guy who would really like a bible thumping wife.
I would love to get an MMPI on you. I think I know what it would say already! Your world is fairly black and white. Things are either right or wrong and there is not a lot of middle ground. You may have got in trouble with alcohol before. I give fair odds that you may still drink more than is probably good for you. You are fairly rigid and inflexible in your thinking style. You probably hated art class if you ever had to take one, although you might possibly be an admirer and supporter of the arts, probably only out of professional calculation to improve your standing and not from any real love of the arts. You seem to have a paranoid way of viewing the world, which is probably useful for an attorney.
You may be self employed. I can't see you sucking up to get a job in a big firm. You might have tried at one point before you realized who you were. If you did try the big firm route at one point it didn't work out for you. You might have even been a former policeman or had policemen in your family. It is a similar personality style. Also that of a veteran, but I suspect you didn't join the army because you had other options and came from a higher socioeconomic class. You might have attended a conservative type church in your youth, but are probably not a regular churchgoer now, unless you have children living with you, then you suffer through it.
One attorney friend of mine wanted to take the MMPI just to see what it said. He was partly shocked, but admitted it was probably true, even the parts about deeper sexual issues.
I can usually predict what the MMPI will say about someone after a one hour interview. It is similar to doing a physical exam and having a good idea what will show up on the lab testing.
I sometimes like to try to hone my skills and see if I can get a good guess after just a few snippets of information. Did I get any of them right?
Nah, you really conducted a superficial analysis. I don't meet the NPD criteria, bruh. Nice try, but typical of what armchair analysis will get you. I hit on 3 or 4 of them, but who doesn't?
Alcohol? ROTFL...I barely drink. Never liked bein sloppy like that. You really don't understand me and I don't fit your little profiles. Art class is fun. Was never a cop, no cops in my family. LOL.
How do you know I even make law my profession? See, this is the problem with your entire line of work- you ASSUME details to fit what you conclude ab initio. You're attempting to back into a conclusion that you've already made by misinterpreting facts and flat out making up the others.
This is why psychiatry is a joke and dismal profession. You didn't even bat your weight in this analysis.
Hey I usually get an hour with someone who is telling me everything about themselves.
I get bored with that. Too easy.
I now try to do it blindfolded. Need more practice.
No - Trav is right: "you ASSUME details to fit what you conclude ab initio"
You've left too much evidence of such in this one single discussion. My guess is that you never find out enough after the fact to see how wrong you usually are. And continue to insist how right you've been.
I've never insisted I am right. I am willing to bet he fits a profile that I see often.
I see all these people thinking he is some kinda hero for bitchslapping his daughter and burning himself.
I merely pointed out that the odds are that this is the tip of the iceberg. You haven't seen these cases and the family court from inside.
Out of hundreds of cases I have seen not a single one was an issue of "one time abuse" when the ultimate result was a suicide.
Why do you assume he is so innocent without having the facts. Those two data points, bitchslapping your four year old kid until her lip bleeds, and a violent suicide, have never been seen in isolation. They have always been the tip of the iceberg.
Selective with facts. Articles also stated he was found innocent and the he had no history of violence. Isolation? The two events you call 'datapoints' are separated by 10 hellish years.
Your pseudoscientific psycobabble is getting old.
This event was noticed and is still being actively discussed on an anonymous online forum: The Psycho-Exwife.com, a highly successful blog and forum that was devoted to helping spouses ( both men and women) affected by high conflict ex's and their inevitable journey through the iniquitous family court system. However, the blog itself--although completely anonymous--was orderedlast week to be taken off the net by a family court judge who threatened that the author would be incarcerated and lose his child custody if he continued to publish it. (The blog was discovered by his seriously alcoholic and disturbed cyber-stalking ex, who recognized herself in it--though no one else could). Although this judgement was a First Amendment violation, the author complied and took the Blog off the net, in fear of losing his children. The forum continues, members-only. The judge further ordered that all traces of the blog be eradicated from the internet, including cached versions--an impossibility. Thus the author is still at risk of being jailed and losing custody, having already lost his civil rights. I never thought that writers in the US would be forced to go underground, writing what amounts to samizdats.
He should have refused. They rule by fear. You have to overcome it to defeat the Nazi's.
I wonder if the deceased's wife and her attorney and the social worker and the court pricks are high fiving, having a few drinks and yukking it up ? I'm ready for a big shake up ! These so called public servants better start acting like servants if they know what's good for them ! We gotta flip this country upside down ! Monedas is pissed ! 2011 I want the collapse so all their civil service retirements become worthless ! They're raiding the people savings, 401Ks, home values, job opportunities ! I'd rather see revolution than to live under these sick, bloated tyrants !
Oh, so you're ready for "a big shake up" huh? Tell us all, tough guy, about how that's going to play out. Thumb-dick assholes like you like to talk a bunch of shit when you're in your parents' basement, but when push comes to shove you're first in line for the handouts and giveaways.
His wife is probably relieved that a fucking lunatic, with the inclination to set himself on fire, no longer has access to her children. Read the paper once in a while, asshole. Dicks like this guy slaughter their own kids every single day in this country. Pieces of shit like you are the first to holler about the politicians who need to "do something" about it.
Fucking armchair revolutionary...why don't you go back to playing "Call of Duty" and spare us your wisdom?
Tyler, I respectfully disagree with you that government is the problem. Government is at the mercy of the same evil that all of us are. The founding fathers declared independence from them. Andrew Jackson ran them out when they tried to sneak back. They came back again at Lincoln trying to divide our great nation, and even in failure succeeded to get revenge on his life. They finally took control in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act, and the one man who tried to turn the tide for us is on the last US half dollar that is worth its weight. The current government needs some serious reform, but isn't the culprit in this.
It's not the food stampers 44 million strong ? It's not 60 million government workers at all levels ?
The current government needs some serious reform, but isn't the culprit in this.
Oh, yes the Government is the culprit. Please don't post on the thread again...you don't understand the issues here.
There you go JLee, gotta silence all opposing viewpoints, right? Fucking nimrod.
???
wow...
I was referring to Basel BIS which runs the Federal Reserve and most every other central bank. The government served the people well before 1913, before the welfare state, and deliberately incompetent fiscal policy, but it has been hijacked. Some may feel they are responsible, but that is not looking at the big picture. Government is an arm, corporations are an arm, but banks are the head. The people who have been put in charge of it are only there because banksters finance them. And yeah, everybody is in on it. All I'm saying is get to the root of the problem.
SilverDoctors.com's take on the matter.....
www.silverdoctors.com
No one has a problem with "The Second Set of Books" that constitute a standard set of publicized procedures for carrying out lawful activities by various government agencies. The problem is that many volumes of "The Second Set of Books" are purposely hidden by covens of sniveling bureaucrats precisely for the purpose of carrying out illegal and unconstitutional measures. I'm amazed that no one commented that The Second Set of Books doesn't allow prosecution of bankers and other elites. You won't find it written anywhere, no matter how many times you successfully sue the government and gain access to their hidden records via discovery. But you can see it in action day after day. Perhaps it is in "The Third Set of Books," which is conveyed only by telephone calls from high office. I want Hank Paulson in jail and claw backs of all the bailout monies under a fraudulent conveyance theory. Then do bailouts for everyone using John Hussman's non-inflationary debt-for-equity swaps.
Nice to see that everybody here has reviewed all the evidence in the case before coming to the conclusion that there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that maybe, just maybe, this guy was as full of shit as a Christmas goose and a fucking loon to boot. After all, nothing says "rational" like setting your own ass on fire.
What an interesting story. I wrote something of my own in regards to it and would like to share...
