Oh no! Did ZH just jump the shark!
According to some, about 100 times already. Apparently it is a headline that sells no matter how repetitive.
LOL. I wouldn't want it any other way around here. And unlike Happy Days, shark-jumping only helps the ratings.
Have you ever given any thought to what you would do with yourself if one day the markets suddenly became free and fair, price corresponded to value, and the global economy found itself on a sustainable course to prosperity?
<shudder>
On that day, Tyler will sell the operation to CNBC.
Hardly! The breadth and depth of contributions on ZH -- by Tyler, contributors (including contrarians and shills) and commenters alike -- is second to none. You just have to be alert and use critical thinking skills to weave your own reality, as you see fit. This is not the 6 o'clock news!
The better your critical thinking skills (ie. BS radar), the closer your reality will be to the truth.
Or, 'Nuke the Fridge'?
Hell, they are just playing catchup to our markets. Before to long every market will be as manipulated as ours.
60 DMA. Interesting number. Not 50 or 55, 60. Strange. Stange little people they are.
Yao Ming not so small, nor so strange, put up big & interesting numbers too...
Just the right size to see a Bushy buzz-cut Ford-class nuclear fiat-top on the horizon coming to pick up my Walmart Hummer.
some cash markets are traded from sunday to friday (ie. there is 6 days of data rather than the conventional 5 per week);
5 ---> 6 = 20% increase ---> on these charts a 60 dma can be used;
the same applies to 100 (120) or 200 (240) ... dmas
Are you referring to the futures market? Because that's only open half the day on sunday, hence the 55DMA. I still don't understand the reasoning behind the 60.
moving averages aren't as clever as you or me: whether there is half a day or even just 1 hour of data, this will be interpreted as 1 day with its own OHLC and the candle will be drawn accordingly and the moving averages need to be increased by the same ratio (ie 6 days of data per week not 5, an increase of 20% so a 50dma becomes a 60dma and so on).
i became aware of this when looking at non-futures charts that only have 5 days/week and noticed that my own 50dma (on a 6 days/week chart) did not match theirs; increasing it to a 60dma gave a mirror image;
it's not 100% the same because if there is a big move during sunday, then your 60dma will reflect that but it is still a much better fit than a 55dma because as far as moving averages are concerned there is no such thing as a 1/2 day
It's historical apparently. On the abacus, 10s are difficult, 9s easy. Therefore 9s and factors of 9 are more consistently Chinese.
This was in Minyanville yesterday on account of the last Chinese rate hike being 0.25, as opposed to the norm of .27 ...
Taiwan punching to new highs:
China still lagging.
Got anything besides a 5 minute or 5 day chart on any of your gay stocks, Robo-penis?
What's up with the Haterade?
The graphs he posted are relevent to the article, and they are posted on a blog that follows financial events.
It is this crucifixion of anyone who dares to think a different thought that has made this country into the bland, lifeless mass that it is today.
Dollar falling hard and futures are flying! Looks like a big week setting up. 1200 is a given tomorrow with this dollar action in addition to stronger corporate earnings and decent economic data.
The right hand washes the left hand. Rinse. Repeat.
told you - other govs will copy ben and co and lying timmy; fraud by example; look what clinton did for honesty
Invented the "HerMonica Humidor"? Hums like a kitten and keeps em' moist. Smoke 'em, if ya' got em, men.
Capitulation time? Time to bend over and lather up.
Repeating mantra since March '09: NEVER underestimate the replacement power of equities within an inflationary spiral.
Is it just me or does that piece display the rythmic pentameter of a fortune cookie?
What's good for the goose...
<crying> Somebody's manipulating the market! I think it was an Asian gang or something! I saw someone, he looked Asian and he...he was speaking another language. I'm pretty sure it was ...Asian! <crying>

Thank you for posting this ZH. Although I don't agree with the author's view (which is common in China from what I understand), this is a very interesting perspective.
