House Set to Pass Patriot Act Extension TODAY on Second Try

It appears that the Patriot Act Renewal that failed last week is back...

From the Hill...

House set to pass Patriot Act extension on second try

House
Republicans are poised to pass an extension of the Patriot Act on
Monday evening after a procedural snafu sent the measure down to defeat
last week.

Republicans
will meet at noon and begin debate at 2 p.m. on an extension of
Patriot Act surveillance. A vote on the extension is expected Monday
evening.

The
measure was defeated last week when Republican leadership attempted to
force it through on a fast-track procedure that required a two-thirds
majority. Monday evening's vote will require only a simply majority and
is almost certain to pass.

The three key sections of the Patriot Act that are up for renewal are:

1. Covert access to electronic data without any due process or oversight.

2. Searches of private property without notice.

3. Government access to private business records.

4. Roving wiretaps without true search warrants.

If you value your 4th amendment rights, I suggest you get on the phones and call your reps.

Head over to ContactingtheCongress.org to get your reps contact info and tell them you do not want your rights to be violated anymore and have had enough.

It already passed. The gestapos have their license renewed officially, although they do not need it as they do what they like regardless.

Called my congressman, Republican. Phone boy, on questioning: "Most folks that are calling, are saying they don't want this passed." Yet, last week the mindless minion did vote Yea, and I suppose he will again.  I honestly don't know who supports this shit!?

Emailed about 100 people the alert.  Thanks for the heads up.

If people would use their brains for 5 minutes they would know that these laws aren't for terrorists but for us to stop dissent when the economic implosion happens and all these promises made aren't kept by the govt..  If Osama bin Laden and his network of terrorists was this prolific, they would have won years ago.  They aren't, he's in a cave (or as some say have died) in Wazirastan trying to coax idiots to attack us.  They have no true command and control network anymore.

As the Egyptian revolution just showed, bearing arms may not have any bearing on being successful against a dictator.

That's the problem - people either have rights guaranteed by the Constiution or they do not.  Its not a multiple choice question.

I can believe in point 1 without further investigation.  But not in points 2,3 and 4.

It is slighly less conflictual than 4 and much less than 2 and 3.

It can be performed without people knowing about it.

Common now, you are all skeptics - it's not called "the land of the free" for no reason after all.

Although they could be referring to money for big banks.

I find it ironic that the party supposedly against intrusive government...(the Republicans)...are the very ones trying to pass this thing.    ....(we need to oust both parties and start over).

The Big Brother infrastructure is securely in place. No act of Congress is gonna change that. If the the American equivalent of bread and circuses (i.e. food stamps, American Idol, and of course, Snooki) fail to pacify the unwashed masses, Uncle Sam has other means at his disposal. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/top-secret-america/articles/a-hidden-...

Sure, they'll continue doing it but they will walk on us as much as we let them. The path of least resistance...  Gotta go make some calls now.

The more they grow the less meffective they become. Mind you, by effective, I mean fulfilling their anti-terrorism mandate.

Now, if the objective is to quelch any legitimate atempt at changing the political establishment/system by covert surveillance, harassment and intimidation, then...you have a point here!

The Agency in question, and the Act are unconstitutional, and until I see it Amended they DO not have the right.

No it wouldn't. If they need another false-flag attack to crack down on civil liberties, thats par for the course.  The globalists need their police state infrastructure in place while they continue to plunder main street and inflate our savings to zero.

Hugh, I couldn't agree more.  The question remains, how long until the people of the United States wake up and decide they've had enough of it?

Egypt woke up only after the QE based monetary push inflation drove food prices to the point where hunger drove them out.

Does the US need a similiar catalyst or are American's on average just simply too illiterate about what is being done to them and too well brain washed to see the simple truth.

Most people I know are not even vaguely aware of the history and nature of false flag operations or the key role of agents provacteur.

yet, its all there.  Just Google "history of false flag operations in America" or go to Netflix and watch "Loose Change and American Coup".
