How The CIA Will Manipulate Public Opinion In Germany And France To Support Continued War In Afghanistan

Tyler Durden's picture

The latest stunner from the CIA and the Obama administration via Wikileaks. To wit:

This classified CIA analysis from March, outlines possible PR-strategies to shore up public support in Germany and France for a continued war in Afghanistan. After the Dutch government fell on the issue of dutch troops in Afghanistan last month, the CIA became worried that similar events could happen in the countries that post the third and fourth largest troop contingents to the ISAF-mission. The proposed PR strategies focus on pressure points that have been identified within these countries. For France it is the sympathy of the public for Afghan refugees and women. For Germany it is the fear of the consequences of defeat (drugs, more refugees, terrorism) as well as for Germany’s standing in the NATO. The memo is a recipe for the targeted manipulation of public opinion in two NATO ally countries, written by the CIA. It is classified as Confidential / No Foreign Nationals.

Full report demonstrating the level to which US foreign policy has collapsed. Perhaps someone can forward this to the Nobel peace prize committee?

A false flag event, courtesy of the CIA, in any given european country should do the trick.

Bob's picture

Agreed.  A simple PR campaign is really too subtle, too ethereal a tool for them.  They don't seem to really understand people except at the mercy of garrote wire or such.

People gotta die for them to really get inspired.

alien-IQ's picture

And this is precisely the type of "project" in which the handy work of a little known but very powerful company comes into play...

Look into a company called "Strategic Communications Laboratories".

I'm sure we've all experienced some of their work...but if they did their job well, and they usually would have never known you were being...worked.

Problem Is's picture

" A simple PR campaign is really too subtle..."

Obummer likes to try "bipartisanship" before he says okay to the drones...

And by drones, I don't mean drones on and on like Lies-man...

MarketTruth's picture

100% agree on false flag. Worked for Hitler to get everyone into war and works for the USA many times to pass unconstitutional laws, invade privacy and start wars with others.

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

Just white-out all the other country names and substitute in the USA and see how the report reads. The best place to run a false flag is home, sweet home.

Segestan's picture

Just another opinion, but this 'report' reads like self promoting propaganda for the Obama administration, ....planted  propaganda.

tip e. canoe's picture

perhaps it's planted propaganda targeted AT the administration.

maybe we should call and ask them?  their phone #'s are on the left hand side.  got a payphone nearby?

BlackBeard's picture

No wonder they're watching that website LOL

Yawn.  Is Wikileaks run by adults or 14 year olds?

Problem Is's picture

Is the CIA run by 14 year olds or senile 84 year olds?

Big Red's picture

Sorry that  I can't be stunned by such innocuous information.

Better that more people realize that when you hear about a "Color" (insert Green/Orange, maybe the latest is Red...) revolution/opposition in foreign lands, figure that the CIA (at the least) is funding that "noble" opposition.

Crummy's picture

It's cool, I'm not a foreign national.

"The memo is a recipe for the targeted manipulation of public opinion in two NATO ally countries, written by the CIA."

by the use of 'manipulation' you mean-a that somebody does something-a that's not to his-a benefit, hence he was fooled to do it.

this is not clearly demonstrated that the war on the barbarians is not a benefit to these fellow fascists.

the barbarians have no history like europe. that's an insult to intelligence.  oops, i mean-a, that is intelligence.

i keep-a forgetting that history and thinking is the same.

If they fry the skin off some more afghanistan babies that should do the trick.

Ah, now I get your avatar...

Sorry. I couldn't stop myself.

lots-a you know.  what the afghan men going to fuck, then?

How is this at all different from the advertising/marketing done by corporate America?  Selling people food that isn't nourishing, fizzy sugar water as a lifestyle expression, etc.

This is a pure play of American values -- manipulate people to profit from them.

mouser98's picture

that was my thoughts as well.  personally i believe that the CIA is capable of much more than managing PR, but i think most of that stuff never makes its way onto paper.

Hephasteus's picture

The only thing that I want to know is exactly what the CIA is at the center of.

Crummy's picture

That's not egg on their face...

"Appeals by President Obama & Afghan Women Might Gain Traction"

i've offended enough people on this website for 1 day, so no comment, but Dave Chappelle would have a field day with this section:

Not sure how many of you are aware, but when one applies to work at CIA s/he has to take a test whose purpose is to find out if you posses any sadistic inclinations. If you don't you fail the test.

This is not a joke.

Bob's picture

Very plausible.  Narcissists and sociopaths we've got plenty of room for, but whatcha gonna do with the psychopaths in government?

Equal opportunity and representation, right?

Gimp's picture

Did'nt Mr "Hope" say during his campaign he was getting us out of Iraq, Afghanistan and closing Gitmo???

Dope with no Hope.

Mr Lennon Hendrix's picture

Yeah he said "take it to the bank" but I do not trust his bank!

The CIA is the enforcer of the oligarchy. It is inept, it is filled with bungling idiots, but it has a secret budget. The CIA cannot boil water without scalding itself. It does not even have enough sense to check someone for a suicide vest in a war zone but, it has a secret budget. If we depended on the CIA to save this country, we would all be dead as a result of them trying to save us. The CIA does not have to plan, it has a secret budget. The CIA deals in drugs when the secret budget does not cover all of the expenses. They did not even have enough sense to know that on a sunny day in downtown Dallas, people given notice of a special event would be carrying cameras to that event. Every success of the CIA has been an accident.

no structure profoundly flawed does not collapse in nature; therefore, you must be wrong.

please revise your statement.

Don't know if you are right, but my experiences working with them were less than impressive.

don't you get it yet.  you play the game, you get nice tits in your face for life.

Secret budget is right! $2.5 trill in '04 and then again in '05.

and no word of details of WHY we are there or any such goal

i guess the red team is just the propaganda team

Spin baby spin.  I would hope this country considers how to rally others in the world to its side.  You know that others who  oppose the USA just because we are The Great Satan are using propaganda against us.  Wars are fought on many fronts.

Whether the CIA is inept is another question.  I bet the CIA is trying to do it in-house.   The CIA should tap in to the marketing minds of our international conglomerates like P&G, Kraft etc.  They are already trying to sell in those markets.  We already have the best and the brightest working on selling the Europeans goods, why not toss in a war or two, too.

MsCreant's picture

Or outsource it to India or China.

mouser98's picture

the official CIA might be meant to be viewed as inept...  the real CIA is another matter.  i would posit that they are way ahead of you, and have been for many years.

the grateful unemployed's picture

the recent US Russia disarmanent treaty is probably more important to the EU members. The tension concerning the gas supplies, the problem in Ukraine, can all be put to rest if the two superpowers sign this treaty. we should assume that the missiles dick cheney pointed at Moscow have been dismounted. Afghanistan may be the price, but really it isn't much of a war, al-qaida has moved on, the taliban isn't our enemy. the CIA wants the Pakistani nuclear arsenal, and they put up Bhutto but the deal blew up. there are other puppet leaders to be appointed. the real question is how they will bullshit the pakistani people into ignoring the strings that support the candidate. this is a red herring. CIA leaks classified document, how about the one where Bush and Obama discuss policy every day on the phone.

Rick64's picture

how about the one where Bush and Obama discuss policy every day on the phone.

 Have some info?

Mr Lennon Hendrix's picture

Oh, and which Bush? GHWB (Magog as he is referred to by fellow Bonesmen) or Jeb?
