If Gold Is Getting Flushed, Greek Bonds Should Be Getting Killed

Tyler Durden's picture

If the logic on the gold plunge is that Paulson will be dumping (as we first reported), that means that GGBs, in which Paulson has sizable long cash exposure (with or without the CDS), will be the next to go. And since he can't hedge anymore (remember the whole thing about CDS speculators being branded traitors), he will be forced to sell. Sorry Greece, Goldman just punk'd you once more.

The global financial market seems like one big ball of yarn that has just been sprayed with catnip and handed to the family cat.

If this is all the downpressure they're going to put on gold, I'm dissapointed.  I'd like one more chance at $960 gold!  That would be cool.

Treasury options expire today. Coincidence? Only if you're a retard.

Look for it to happen again next Friday.

I think this is all just another shakeout.  Watch how Goldman defends themselves and the SEC comes up empty handed.  "Oh well...we thought you might have been up to no good.  I guess we were wrong."

If this were for real, the market would be down 500 - 1,000 pts.

Just another day at the office for these folks.

Goldman has been charged with securities fraud - not Gold.

The cartel is taking gold down because they don't want it to be seen as the go to safety asset - that's what treasuries are for.

PHYS is an excellent vehicle because it is considered a collectible and subject to a 15% tax on gains.  Great opportunity to buy on a pullback.

I know the reality and the market manipulation.  Phys, TLT, gold/silver coins, and energy (natural gas & oil) is how I am now positioning + cash.  TLT is short term. VXX and SRS are tempting but I will resist the urge to be pick pocketed.

Controlled market through financial reform bill and election.  How do we invest in corruption, it's the only sure bet.
