A quick talking point: assuming a pure crowding out, the effective $700 tax on consumers reduces GDP by 0.5% (disclosure, the sensitivity is higher than some on the street who use 2.5-2.75 cents for every $1 in oil).

Real tobacco is worth its weight in silver right now and Cannabis is worth 10 times its weight in Silver. Both can be grown by anybody, anywhere. Granted there are risks in most (but not all) places with Cannabis, but there is absolutely no risk with Tobacco.

During hard times Tobacco has always been a top-grade bartering tool, and Cannabis will be too this time around. You can grow both plants wherever you live - urban or rural. They are easy to grow and cure - anyone can do it. Apologies for talking my book but my website will give you everything you need to know to grow your own www.cultivatorshandbook.com
