As Iran Is Loading Fuel In Its First Nuclear Power Plant, Israel Warns Reactor Use "Totally Unacceptable"
As has been widely anticipated, Iran is currently in the last stages of preparation before pushing the On button for its brand, spanking new (and 20 years in the making) nuclear power plant. As Reuters reports: "Television showed live pictures of Iran's nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi and his Russian counterpart watching a fuel rod assembly being prepared for insertion into the reactor near the Gulf city of Bushehr." Yet despite Russia's guarantee that it would collect spent rods that could be used to make weapons-grade plutonium, Israel is not taking this development lightly at all, and as Jerusalem Post reported earlier, warned that "It is totally unacceptable that a country that blatantly violates
decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the International
Atomic Energy Agency, and ignores its commitment to the
Non-Proliferation Treaty charter, will enjoy the fruits of using nuclear
energy," according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Yossi Levy said. Which in turn has prompted Ahmadinejad to warn that a strike on Iran would be answered with "harsh and painful" response. All in all, just another Saturday in the middle east.
Yet that's not all, as Iran now seems intent on seeing how far the already frayed nerves in the region can stretch (and recall that recently Gulf states announced that the military option may be the best strategy for the region).
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad chose Saturday to tell a meeting of university professors of plans to shoot satellites to altitudes of 700 km, then 1,000 km -- certain to add to Western concerns about Iran's development of missile technology.
"Once this target is realized, placing a satellite at a geosynchronous orbit of 35,000 km will be easy," he was quoted as saying by ISNA news agency. "This will be done within the next two or three years."
Long-range ballistic technology used to put satellites into orbit can also be used to launch warheads.
Iran launched a domestically made satellite in 2009, but only to an altitude of 250 km. Washington called that a "provocative act."
As for the whole reactor situation, even with ever increasing jawboning, Israel was very careful not to provoke or incite Russia:
The Foreign Ministry was pointedly making no reference to the Russian involvement in the reactor, an apparent effort not to say anything that could in any way complicate Israel's relations with Moscow.
The US State Department said Saturday that they do not consider Iran's Bushehr nuclear power facility a proliferation risk, AFP reported.
“We recognize that the Bushehr reactor is designed to provide civilian nuclear power and do not view it as a proliferation risk,” State Department spokesman Darby Holladay told AFP on Saturday.
Yet just in case there is escalation, Iran made its feeling known that WWIII would follow promptly any incursion, which he nonetheless did not expect to occur.
As the opening of the Bushehr plant took place on Saturday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Qatari newspaper Al-Shark that if the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities were attacked, the response from Teheran would be "worldwide" in its scope.
"Our possibilities would be limitless and would encompass the whole world," said Ahmadinejad.
Ahmadinejad discussed Israel, stating that the Jewish state would like to attack Iran but understands that the Islamic Republic is a "fortress that cannot be destroyed" and that the Iranian response to such an attack would be "harsh and painful."
"I don't believe their American masters would let them attack," Ahamadinejad added on Israel.
The weeklong operation to load uranium fuel into the reactor at the Bushehr power plant is the first step in starting up a facility the US once hoped to prevent because of fears over Teheran's nuclear ambitions.
In other words, the world is suddenly back to relying on the rationality of two people both in possession of launch codes, and a hope that both are familiar with the M.A.D. doctrine. In other words, stability rules. Surely, this is precisely the environment for stocks to surge to 36,000 on 3-4 shares traded, as the New York Fed "prices in" global thermonuclear warfare. Absent fireballs sprouting everywhere tomorrow, the likelihood of the delayed POMO reaction on Monday to send stocks well above the 50 DMA is suddenly all too real.
Below is a look at Iran's reactor, courtesy of Reuters:

Truth be told, my bailing consists of support by way of donations and buying multiple copies of his books. And attending his lectures and other appearances when he's in the neighborhood. He does all the hard work, I just throw some dollars his way.
Hell, either I spend money on him or the strippers. The strippers get old, Geopol never does.
Merci camarade ..
CD, As John Houston said in the movie China Town,,
Whores,,Ugly Buildings,,and Politicians become respectable if they last long enough..
I've been junked,,,thank god, the merciful..
At one time on Zero Hedge, receiving one or two junks was a sign you were ruffling a few feathers and scratching at sensitive cognitive dissonances. Now that ZH has become an event in the blogging world and is popping up on all kinds of radar screens, even the lowly psyops operatives can garner a dozen or so junks without even trying.
You're just gonna need to reach down and try harder if you're gonna garner the 50 junks required to signal success by disappearing into the ZH junk yard. Once there, one must tap the Akashic field if they wish to read the words of the junked.
Keep trying. Maybe you need a flashy face book page to pop back up on the CIA/NSA radar screen. I have faith you'll go out in a glorious flash crash of your own making. :>)
I tend to agree..With the exception of all knowledge hived within the ZH Akashic. Or did I get that wrong?
Cheers CD
wear your junks as a badge of honour, - if youre not getting junked you're nobody or saying nothing interesting.
I didn't want you to feel neglected ;-)
Badge of honour RR!
Being unfamiliar with the phrase “flight forward” (used twice in section III), I did a bit of checking. Judging from Wikipedia, it seems to be a translation of the German phrase flucht nach vorn – “responding to a danger by charging on rather than retreating”.
While the idea that an attack on Iran followed by a blocking of the Straits of Hormuz would lead to oil rising in price to “$500 or $1000 per barrel” seems reasonable, I worry about the contention that “US-UK financiers” could profit from that, given the pain that such a price rise would inflict on suburbia.
You assume that the US-UK financeirs would be ambushed by such an event, but actually they would be well, forewarned, and positioned with their assessts to profit from such a rise in oil prices.
The pain on suburbia is of no consequence!! Any more than the looting of $24 trillion..to escort the zombie banks into wondering, bonus, pointless existence..
Danke , du bist Flug Weiterleitung an die Wahrheit ..
Well, I can only hope the military wont be duped again into a bad war. There
are a lot of General Officers who still believe in the old US of A, or am I being
to naive?
I have heard though the grapevine that the comander in chief is no longer.
I can not back that up though. I can only pray.
Maybe our military is waking up to whats going on in this country.
What I should have said, and what I really mean, is that I want to think that an attack on Iran will not occur since policy-makers realize that due to suburbanization, America would suffer more than, and lose power relative to, Europe, Japan, Russia, & China.
I suppose that I should finish reading Paul Kennedy’s The Rise & Fall of the Great Powers to get a clearer understanding of why empires don’t learn from history but instead over-extend themselves in ways that resulted in the downfall of earlier empires.
Kennedy's "The Rise & Fall of the Great Powers" is a bit dated now, but it ends interestingly by predicting the end of the Soviet Union and warns of American imperial overstretch.
Major Points:
-There is a detectable causal relationship between economic power and the status of the nation that holds it within the international system.
-This work is essentially the relationship between economics and strategy
-Power is always relative to the power held by other states in the system
-Kennedy is not looking at causes of war or trying to explain Kondratiev economic waves
-Differential growth and technological and organizational innovations eventually cause changes to the international scheme
-No state has ever held a long term monopoly on power – not the Habsburgs, not the Metternichian European equilibrium, not Victorian England, and not the US & USSR
-In the case of the Habsburgs, the other powers barely held their material costs below their material expenditures to prevent the empire from taking over (72)
-Michel Morineau claims that France and Britain had roughly similar financial position until 1783 – does that refute Kennedy’s (and Ertman’s) claims?
-Uses Lenin’s Law of Unequal development to show that economic power eventually translates into political and military power
-Europe emerged because of a developed market economy, a plurality of power centers, and lack of cultural and ideological orthodoxy. This system was subsequently destroyed by the Great War.
-Timing is everything
-Michael Mann points out that alliances, not just individual governments fought and won/lost wars. Kennedy appears to characterize these battles as individual Great Powers
Mann wants more on alliances and ideological sympathies. (though this addressed in Kennedy’s thesis) He argues that American decline must be seen within the context of the West’s decline in general as an alliance system with America at its core.
-Not sure why Kennedy chose 1943 as his cut off on periodization – wouldn’t 1944 (Bretton Woods) be more appropriate?
-Is this a Whig interpretation of history? I believe it is.
Conclusion: Economic and Military strength is interrelated and the balance of power in the world is constantly in flux. Over the long term, major changes occur. In the interwar periods powers can grow and decline. He predicts a shift in both total economic output and military spending into the five power centers. He predicts Japan & China leading the way into the future. He predicts a debate about military expenditure going forward.
as always geopol, a post so full of information and truth, it needs to be read carefully, paying attention to every detail - much respect for the time you take to write them (let alone the research the knowledge base towards connecting the dots).

But the bandit theocratic state of ISRAEL is another Middle Eastern
"...country that blatantly violates decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and ignores its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty charter..."
isn't it?
Israel has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty, so it is not bound by that document. And I am not aware of any directives that either the United Nations Security Council or the International Atomic Energy Agency have given Israel. Such directives would have to be given first before Israel could be accused of ignoring them. Have they been given (I don't know)?
OTH - Iran has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty. And the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency have given directives to Iran that Iran has ignored. Israel is simply pointing to Iran's behavior as support for Israel's contention that Iran cannot be trusted. I think the Non-Proliferation Treaty does not bar Iran from generating electricity from nuclear power - so Israel is probably on shaky ground pointing there.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that the major threat to a stable and equitable Middle East arrangement is Israel. Were I Iran, I would feel intensely insecure too...
Iran does not feel insecure. It certainly does not feel threatened by Israel. And the Middle East was not stable and secure before 1948. Study history.
mr. P i would have to disgree with you on your points that 1.Iran does not feel insecure and 2. does not feel threatened by Isreal.
1. Iran is surrounded by hostile western forces. There is the occupation of iraq on their western border and the occupation of afganistan on their eastern border. Im pretty sure they dont think it is just a coincidence that they are literally being surrounded. They naturally see themselves as the "end game" the real goal of the disasterous neocon "democratisiation" of the ME. This makes them feel insecure.
2.It is common everyday rhetoric for Isreals military, political and religous leaders to openly discuss and promote the merits of a military strike on Iran. These threats by israel make them feel threatened.
"Iran is surrounded by hostile western forces."
No they are not.
The implied premise of your statement is false. Western troops are not massing on either border. In fact, on one border the last combat brigade just left Iraq. On the other borders you fail to mention are Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan & Turkey.
So, no, they are not surrounded by hostile forces.
A bunch of paranoid fanatics in Tehran may think they are surrounded but those are actually the people of Iran many of whom have realtives who were murdered last year simply for marching in the streets wanting a fair vote tally.
Personally, I find it a remarkable twisting of logic that atheist's, leftist's, communists, "progressives" & anti-Semites can defend a morally & ethically bankrupt theocracy (as Iran is constituted today) while whining and sniveling about the mere mention of God or Jesus before a high school football game here in America.
I'm unsure if all here at ZH know what the penal codes are under any Islamic theocracy that is Iran today. But I am sure that the raping of women by prison guards before their execution would not be condoned.
Junk away bitchez...but know I speak the truth.
You should invest a few bucks in a World Map.
Color in all the countries where the U.S. has forces/bases..
You sir, are an idiot..
You sir have reading comprehension problems, derived no doubt by your graduation from a government run school that sometimes cannot even spell the word school and erases errors on test scores that allow brainless idiots like you to move on into business & government.
Look again at what I responded to;
"Iran is surrounded by hostile western forces. There is the occupation of iraq on their western border and the occupation of afganistan on their eastern border."
Being surrounded implies, well, surrounded. It is there in his own words bozo.
World map?...LOL...ignorance is bliss.
So your saying Turkey, Pakistan and Turkmenistan (which are northwest & southeast & directly north respectively on ANY map) are "hostile western forces"?...ROTFLMAO!
What kind of "world map" have you "invested" in junior?...LOL.
Edit........
Nice diversion from Iranian penal codes & prison guards raping women inmates before they are put to death though...well done...almost.
I'm sorry, I'm unable to fix your interpretation of information.
I stand by my original observations. The only defense I can think of is a repeat of my first statement, and description of you, therefore, we can go no further.
You can, however, resort to in depth personal attacks designed to elevate every one's perception of your views. Ohh wait you did that.. Ok.. I guess we're done.

If that last post was for me, and I am correctly translating - all is well. I have been pinging with sonar - like a dolphin.
That's just flat rediculous. For Israel to criticize Iran's compliance with the NNPT is laughable. Israel is one of the few states, the US being another, that are not even signatories to the NNPT. These people are shameless and the recipients of their propaganda quite ill informed, stupid or both.
Israel is not simply criticizing Iran. It is pointing out that Iran cannot be trusted. The proof offerred is that Iran is not abiding by the Treaty it signed (at this stage, that is an incorrect statement) and that it is not obeying the directives of the United Nations Security Council or the International Atomic Energy Agency (a statement which is true).
So far as I know, Israel is not a party to the treaty nor has Israel been given directives which they have ignored.
"Directives they have not ignored"?
What about withdrawing from occupied territory? How about being asked to stop firing missiles etc. into Gaza, or Lebanon?
You don't have to have a formal "directive" to be required to stop attacking others, lying and blaming everything under the sun: How about Mordechai Vanunu, etc.: covering up their own nuclear program? Common human decency and respect for others' opinions alone would dictate that.
The subject is "directives they have not ignored" with regard to nuclear activity. Your response has nothing to do with the subject being discussed. Israel claimed that Iran can not be trusted and offered what they thought was proof for their claim. Either the proof offered supports Israel's claim, or it doesn't. That is the subject your comments need to address.
First, If you had read the IAEA document (either the Feb 18th one or the May
10th one) you would know that the ISrael has - YET AGAIN - embellished the
IAEA's statements. It's like Richelieu, but with a lack of finesse that
means it only works on retarded folk or those who have no mind of their own.
For those who are interested - the actual cite (the source document
rather than some Pravda style agitprop 'interpretation') can be found
in Section E "Possible Military Dimensions" of
http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Board/2010/gov2010-10.pdf -
which makes abundantly clear that the reason these folks want to bomb
Isfahan and Natanz is because the Iranians haven't responded quickly
enough to demands for things that the IAEA does not have juridiction
over (e.g., heavy water) but which form part of Iran's SUPPLEMENTARY
(and voluntary) Safeguard Agreement.
Second, Israel does not officially have nukes in the eyes of the world precisely because it does not want any directives.
Third, Changing the argument to: "has Israel violated decisions of the U.N. directed against Israel regarding nuclear issues" is as sleazy and diversionary as is it irrelevant to the hypocrisy and chutzpah of Israel's statement.
Here, here!! According to RichardP, only if you meet my criteria may we speak of any violations by Israel of U.N. obligations and its decisions. Blow it out your ear RP. Milestones
Arraya, I have posted somewhere in this thread in support of what you just said. My comments on the subject of this thread are neither in support of Israel or Iran. My comments were directed at other comments that addressed issues that are not the subject of the article at the top of this thread. That is, certain posters are claiming that Israel has said something that the story at the top of this thread does not support.
Debate what was actually said, not what we make up about what was said.

"It is totally unacceptable that a country that blatantly violates decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and ignores its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty charter, will enjoy the fruits of using nuclear energy,"
Just when I thought I was unable to be shocked by hypocrisy, especially from Israel, they come out with this statement. When the UN tells Israel it should do something, they say it is biased as no authority, then it claims that Iran should listen? Israel refuses to sign the NNPT and is a nuclear rogue state, but they have the gaul to tell Iran, who has signed the treaty, that they aren't in compliance?
dejunked because you obviously know how to think, and write clear statements, which is more than your anonymous "critic" can. . .
would that more would pose your questions to the world. . .
Can you give me (or point me to) an example of something the U.N. has told Israel to do regarding nuclear issues? This is a request for info, not a challenge.
Also, in your comments you claim that Israel is saying that Iran should listen to the U.N. But nowhere in the statement you quoted does Israel say that Iran should listen to the U.N. Rather, Israel says "it is unacceptable that someone who violates the decisions of the U.N. should enjoy ..." Big difference here. Has Israel violated decisions of the U.N. directed against Israel regarding nuclear issues?
fuck big difference and "nuclear issues" - why should they be able to pick and choose which isues they consider important and ignore other resolutions themselves?
Israel saying any other country cannot be trusted IS the height of hypocrisy,
I meant the big difference was between these two statements:
The poster claimed that Israel made the first statement, when in fact they made the second statement. Big difference.
firstly, this has been a realy civilised thread. well done everybody TD would be proud.
Mr P i respectfully think you are missing the point here. The hypocrisy is that in the above article Isreal expects other countries to follow UN resolutions while they themselves do not. Whether those resulotions are about borders, nuclear issues or nursery rhymes is irrelavant. If israel wants Iran to abide by UN resolutions then so should they. They could start with resolution 242 which Israel has been in noncompliance with since 1967.
Hedge, I'm taking the Israeli comment as a finger in the eye of all of their critics. Bebe knows it will have no effect. But they put up with all of those nonsense UN "resolutions." So fight back how they can.

Can you please provide an instance where you contributed your own, well-supported ideas, opinion or analysis of a topic, as opposed to splitting hairs, intentionally obfuscating and injecting meaningless, distracting minutae? RichardP, your continued presence here is a waste of space-time.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Worthless post I know, but I just had to show support for it.
Iran fires up Sparky, adding one more reason stocks should drop. The initial response in indices doesn't really matter as this adds that much more tension to the spring.
Please. Allow Israel to do or say anything they require to defend themselves and their conquered territory. The only say the U.S. should have in the matter is, no more checks, no more aircraft, aircraft armaments, and no more 'visits' to Vashingtn.
Is there any populated area on Earth that has not been conquered? By the way, how about that 60 billion Dollar weapon sales to Saudi Arabia. see following: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-12/u-s-sale-of-fighter-jets-helico.... It seems that the U.S. is creating enough anxiety on all sides.
Stop ALL foreign aid and military support NOW. Off my back, moochers.
How's that going to stop Shoshana Cardin?
The only thing that will prevent a total meltup of the Market Indexes is if Whore Street gets nuked directly.
Oh wait! There are regional exchanges. Yeah! That's right.
Those exchanges would have a total thermonuclear meltup of they got wind that Whore Street had been nuked.
Sorry, no way to prevent a total meltup...ever!
Israel will jam a MOP down their throat. Detonates from underneath collapsing in on itself. The immediate area is contaminated, structure base compromised..game over...limited release into atmosphere, if any. They will wait until fuel is fully loaded..that way the area becomes useless.
Maybe enlist some of the BP engineers to help? Milestones
Papa,
My money is on one or several months run time. This is a PWR, right? Generally neutronics not so good for Pu generation, the Pu gets burned up as it is produced. Eventually reaches steady-state for a power level, some operating profiles can improve a bit. Stay time (in-core) to reach maximum Pu is like 5-6 months, again core-design dependent.
Then the spent fuel rods need to burn off a bunch of half-lives of the really energetic stuff (in the swimming pool) before they can be handled and the Pu chemically separated. That is like a couple of years.
We all saw this with DPRK and that qwm Albright, who, after sharing drinks and dancing with Dear Leader proclaimed "they never processed fuel rods when we were in charge."
My thoughts: it is a long time before Iran gets weapons material this way, like 4 years or so. Lots else will happen in the interim. Among those things are UF6 separation will give them plenty of U235 to play with.

don't you dampen my dawn airstrike explosion sitting happily in my mind!
"Following the tested model of the Kippur war/oil boycott of October 1973, the US-UK financiers would bid up the price of oil to $500 or $1000 per barrel, thus creating enough demand for dollars to soak up much of the dollar overhang and prop up the greenback, at least for a time." At, $1000/barrel you won't be putting gas in your car, you'll be putting it in a safety deposit box - that is those that could afford it. Why don't we burn dollars, that will get rid of the overhang. Only a banker could dream up that scenario, I mean they've done so well, already.
I have reached a point now that One country screams intolerable, unacceptable, aint happening, not right! etc etc etc etc.
The other (Iran) just keeps right on doing what they are doing. First a bit of juice for the cities on crap uranimum, then a medical reactor then something else then .....
How long must one wait for this to resolve either in a Mushroom cloud or a complete and utter decpitation of a Iranian Government bent on pushing ahead stubbornly in face of all the things that have happened in the last few years or dozens of years.
I feel that no one has the balls to do anything militarily now. And that is a shame.
I am holding Russia to the agreement that they need to move the spent fuel out.
This is going to drag on for a very long time. If someone does get out and hit em, hit em where they need the things to make weapons grade material.
Hell, Iraq has managed to bomb that very nuclear plant in the old Iran/Iraq war back in the 80's and to see it back up and running must make the Iranian thuggy president feel very warm and fuzzy inside.
Can you be happy for Iran that they are finally getting their power plant running? I am, so long as Russia rides herd on disposing the spent fuel. Can you imagine what it must mean to the Iranian man-on-the-street, to see evidence that his country is slowly joining the modern age? And please note that all of the articles on this issue have some form of statement from the U.S. government that they do not see the firing up of the nuclear electric plant as a violation of the non-proliferation agreement. This is a non-event. The uranium enrichment facilities are a different animal altogether.
Of course I am happy that they can get a Nuke plant going for the electricty. One by one many countries are being dragged into the modern age.
I have said before and will say again, the enriching and constant boasting by Iran of bigger and more accurate missiles to deliver a bomb probably all the way to London and thence to the USA Mainland someday.
The Iranian people have fought in the past and were crushed and I think perhaps if we can have a different government, one which will participate in the world rather than trying to whip the Islamic people into a war fever with a constant drumbeat of military stuff... things WILL improve.
Israel on the other hand, they have made it very clear that things are NOT the way they would like them to be and probably will do something about it one way or another. And when they do, it's going to be done right.
I am not going to abandon Israel.
Yes I hold Russia responsible for the spent fuel. Unfortunately they hold the Gas lines to Europe and can turn that off at any time.

Well, as I thought--two other geezers. Who in the hell is the GRP All Stars? I liked that version as well as Herbbie's original tract. I seen the handle of John Coltrane, so there are other aliens out there among all the rockers.
My handle came from the title of an album and title cut from 1956 by Miles called: Milestones
Same as the Cuban missle crisis. We are evil muther fruckers bent on taking over as much power as we can until stopped.
It's simple. Stop them now before it gets worse. The big "O" though is really a zero and won't do it. Bush would have bombed them, done whatever was needed. He understood.
wrong, but yes it is simple, mind your own fucking business and stop bombing countries thousands of miles from you.
difficult concept for your type of Yank, granted.

Bush would have bombed them, done whatever was needed. He understood.
Bush continued to read "My Pet Goat" for seven minutes after being told, "America is under attack." If the attack had been submarine launched nuclear missiles America would have been toast before Bush got up from the desk.
And of course, he was warned of the attack a month before it happened in the August 6 PDB but he did nothing except tell the briefer "OK, you covered your ass," before continuing with his vacation.
I have yet to read anywhere at any time credible evidence tht Iran is capable of taking spent materials and refining it into weapons grade. At best folks in the know admit such capability is years away. (if they try at all)
Second I would ask... when is the last time Iran invaded another country? And who has invaded two of Iran's neighbors without provocation while occupying or bombing or maintaining bases in several more?
Now, who has the slightest bit of credibility in terms of who can be trusted not to invade another and who is the only one involved (Iran Russia US Israel) that does not posses nuke weaponry?
We are listening to the same nuts in Israel and US who led us down so many paths of errorism before. Can we stop now?
Never. Or not as long as the Zionists and their accomplices among the gentiles control the U.S. government, its awesome treasury, and those in turn are controlled by jewish bankers, investment hegefunds run by them.
"It is totally unacceptable that a country that blatantly violates decisions of the United Nations Security Council ( Israel ) and the International Atomic Energy Agency ( Israel ), and ignores its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty charter ( Israel ) , will enjoy the fruits of using nuclear energy." So...he/she/it is saying Isreal will never power up using nuclear energy. Thanks for the info.
LOL, I enjoy Israeli hypocrisy. The bullshit that comes out of their foreign relations spokespeople comes only from special cows that cry big, round tears. It's not surprising, though, when you consider the fact that the bullied often grow up to be bullies themselves.
Are you claiming that Israel has made a commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty charter? Are we supposed to take you seriously?
You are right Dick. Israel made certain in November of 1963 that no American President or administration would work to unveil the ambitions of Israel..
Ok Richard let's put it this way: let's play change of words by respecting the logical consequenciality of the sentence.
"It is totally unacceptable that a country that blatantly violates decisions of the United Nations Security Council ... , will enjoy the fruits of using occupied land." I think now you should catch the vast amount of magnitude of hypocisy that statement is filled of?
In an ideal world, it would be possible to go back in time and club ol' Bobby Oppenheimer over the head just hard enough to completely derail the Manhattan Project. However, since that option is off the table, it's only a matter of time before almost any nation or rebel group with sufficient resources and connections will be able to obtain a nuclear device of some scale. That's the problem, folks...you can kill a person, but ideas are a bit more wily. Besides, I find it far more likely that our stupid social, political and economic abstractions will be our undoing than a nuclear holocaust. Had to emphasize that part, just so no one gets the idea that I'm trying to be the next fucking Kreskin or anything.
Halas, also Fermi should be gunned down and parhaps Einstein itself as well... and I don't know if it would suffice.
Awesome. I'm torn between which is funnier...
Is it this from Tyler? "Surely, this is precisely the environment for stocks to surge to 36,000 on 3-4 shares traded, as the New York Fed 'prices in' global thermonuclear warfare."
Or this from Levy? ""It is totally unacceptable that a country that blatantly violates decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and ignores its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty charter, will enjoy the fruits of using nuclear energy."
Oh wait, I just realized...Levy's SERIOUS. That clinches it--the latter quote is funnier.
the ME is very rasicst place, to much discrimination going on, i have the feeling that rasicsm is invented by Arabs and Israelis
All bs and bs again.
The footprint of Russia's "business men", criminal oligarchs, in Iran is huge.
Yeltzin and his gang of oligarchs sold everything that could be sold, amongst these top level scientists, to everyone who paid a fair price, and one of the buyers was Iran.
Next, Putin's image was built after Marshal Wyatt Earp versu Billy the Kid.
Putin Wyatt Earp kept Billy the Kid G.W. Bush out of the city limits of tombstone.
His second face , the Putin behind the law-and-order Marshal, is Godfather of oligarch mafia.
The plain and simple truth is: Iran is full of top performing Russian defensive weaponry
Iran has full access to Glonass, the Russian GPS .
Israel CANNOT attack Iran. They don't have even a 1% chance.
...not exactly...Russia has been dragging it's feet for years on a deal for S-300 anti-aircraft missiles.
"BUSHEHR, Iran, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi hailed Russia's move on Bushehr nuclear plant fuelling and expressed hope Russia's next step would be the delivery of S-300 missile system to Iran, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported on Saturday.Iran struck a deal with Russia in 2007 to buy the S-300 systems, but Russia delayed the delivery of the anti-aircraft missiles.Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said in the June meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy that his country will freeze the missile sales to Iran in the light of the UN sanctions, according to the Elysee Palace."

ah yes did he say so ?
Putin the oligarch fighter ask a Russian citizen, living far away of Moscow about his opinion on Czar Putin...
The public opinion has recently turned against law-and-order Putin.
The wildfires... Putin had laid off around 50,000 rangers
beginning in 2004 and why so ...well because his oligarch mafia friends wanted to shoot anything that moves in those forests around Moscow on occasion of some wild sex&drugs hunting parties and didn't want to be bothered by any law and order buddies and Putin obeyed.
The thoroughly honest Marshal versu the US cowboy shootist image still sticks.
It’s no secret that Russia has its difficult problems with a shadow government and banker-industrialists oligarchs—such as Russian/Jewish oligarch Oleg Deripaska upon whose vast interests (aluminum, autos, pulp, cement, power generation…) one in every 100 Russians is economically reliant)--continually pushing for a financial monopoly.
Few national leaders have taken as strong a position against these assaults as Vladimir Putin. Say what you will, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn revealed an historical, communist-devastated Russia that the world had never seen and while rebuffed in the West for his efforts, Putin alone celebrated his accomplishment.
Solzhenitsyn, a devout Christian who was disgracefully snubbed by Washington when he took up temporary domicile in the U.S., actively supported Putin’s assertive foreign policy. And on June 5, 2007, Putin signed a decree conferring the State Prize of the Russian Federation for the humanitarian work of Solzhenitsyn and personally visited him in his Russian home to give him the award.
According to accounts, the two men shared a vision of Russia as a restored state, a state that would play a central role as a respected nation in the world community. Isn’t it time the rest of the world allows that to happen?
Putin said of Solzhenitsyn: “His activities as a writer and public figure, his entire long, thorny life journey will remain for us a model of true devotion, selfless service to the people, motherland, the ideals of freedom, justice and humanism.” Yes, Solzhenitsyn had spoken out against many of Putin’s policies, particularly not removing the immunity from prosecution enjoyed by Russia’s parliamentarians, but he was free to speak. Solzhenitsyn died August 3, 2008, in Russia where he returned after becoming disillusioned with what he considered the spiritual vacuum of the materialist West.
Haven’t the New York bankers done enough to the Russian people by providing the seed money for Lenin’s communist takeover? Are they never to be satisfied? Are we now to have more wars, fiat-paper financed by the central bankers?

The Zionists have a plan, as the quote below demonstrates, and soon enough the Americans will learn the details.
The demise of global communications security: The neocons' unfettered access to America's secrets
By Wayne Madsen
"U.S. intelligence sources report that the one Israeli who is considered an extreme threat to U.S. national security is former prime minister and current prime minister hopeful Binyamin Netanyahu. Not only has Netanyahu visited convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard in his North Carolina prison cell and advocated strenuously for his release, but he was once overheard by an ex-CIA agent as saying to a group of his supporters, "Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away." Considering the damage the neocons and their Israeli facilitators are causing for U.S. national security, Netanyahu may soon have his wish."

"This jet, before it heralds death for enemies, is the messenger of salvation and dignity for humanity," Ahmadinejad said in his speech marking the unveiling of the drone in a hall at Tehran's Malek Ashtar university.

Israel-firsters (jew and non-jews alike) have bankrupted America.
NO MORE WARS FOR TERRORIST ISRAEL. The "wars" are not meant to end, but rather to occupy territory (at US expense) for Israel's benefit.
OK you got me.....sorry.....I didn't think there was anything they hadn't broken....agreements....treaties......bones...(I am being kind here) so I exclude Non-Proliferation. I beg your pardon. Anything else they haven't broken? If there is another blip in their track record please let us know.
The Lockerbie bomber release isn’t enough appeasement.
The compassionate peace loving muslims will pray over the ashes of the WTC murders, not exult in Islamofascist triumphalism.
The same prayer the muslims will utter in their new mosque, Allahu Akbar is the same one the terrorists screamed over and over in the horrified ears of their victims as they drove the planes into the WTC but that’s ok.
This mosque is not an abomination and will assure "peace in our time".
The Iranian bomb isn’t really a bomb and it’s not being built and they don’t mean any of the bad things they say about Israel.
Mahdist Shiite totalitarians are benevolent.
Israel can always retaliate if they are hit with a nuclear bomb.
The winds of war are blowing.
"The Lockerbie bomber release isn’t enough appeasement."
This I might concur with, on the other hand it seems that Israel itself made many appeasements of that sort when releasing palestinian prisoners be it in exchange for IDF-soldiers or some political deal of some sort.
"The compassionate peace loving muslims will pray over the ashes of the WTC murders, not exult in Islamofascist triumphalism."
Exactly: the compassionate peace loving muslims pray over the ashes of the WTC murdered (I think you wanted to write murdered?), it's the estremist warmongering islamofascist who exult in triumphalism. At the same time its the compassionate peace loving catholics, hindus, muslims, juws and whatever who pray both for the innocent victims of the WTC and for the victims steamed over by the triunphal march of democracy throughout every border of the middle east.
"The same prayer the muslims will utter in their new mosque, Allahu Akbar is the same one the terrorists screamed over and over in the horrified ears of their victims as they drove the planes into the WTC but that’s ok."
Gott mit uns was written on the belts of the SS gasing jews and every "lessen" nation in Europe, so what?
"This mosque is not an abomination and will assure "peace in our time"".
The first part of the sentence is a truism, the second depends upon the good will of all men
"The Iranian bomb isn’t really a bomb and it’s not being built and they don’t mean any of the bad things they say about Israel."
There is no bomb in Iran as there were no WMD in Iraq and they, as any other nation in the World, are entitled to their opinions, if you wanto to sanction the supposed evil aims of whichever person according to your personal set of value, you are questing for a "minority report" style of world: there are good doctors to help you out of this situation.
"Mahdist Shiite totalitarians are benevolent."
No, quite the contrary: they are like any church fundamentalist. Is like to say all Catholic are mad because there is the K.K.K.
"Israel can always retaliate if they are hit with a nuclear bomb."
If my grand aunt pissed oil I'd be reach now... or else, I don't know of Pakistan having a possibility to hit Israel with its nukes, do you?
"The winds of war are blowing."
This certainly is: you might start holding your breath some...
Regards
You are funny. Especially comparing the Mahdist to Catholics. Or is it to the KKK? It's a bit muddled but thanks for trying.
You talk about your family like that? One thing is certain, Pakistan is worth bringing into the conversation but let's wait a decent periond of time until the US humanitarian effort winds down so you don't hit yourself in the face with an egg.
Now try presenting a thesis and not a revue. My meaning is perfectly clear. My form is highly effective and appropos. Yours, not so much. But still, I think I get it. Everything is everything. Profound.
L'inglese e' molto difficile, no, Luigi?
Be talking to ya.
Non direi che è molto difficile: difficile è parlarlo bene! E purtroppo non è il mio caso. Complimenti per il tuo italiano :o) (I'would'nt say it's difficult, it's difficult to speak it really well, and halas that's not my case.)
Most fortunately my family has no mad men in it (AFAIK), so I don't need to speak that way about it. The reference to Pakistan to counter your argument aboute Israel nuked is just to poit out that it is the only islamic nuclear power in the region, and it happens to be a staunch ally of the USA and a foe to Iran, as well as almost all other islamic states in the region.
I have no thesis to present, I just wanted to comment on your lines since their meaning was indeed clear and found myself in almost total disagreement, as I hope to have shown in spite of the effort required to follow my writing.
Regards
I wonder why there are so many Jewish bankers? Answer: Bacause they excel in areas of human endeavor. How could one half of one percent of one percent of humanity win about forty percent of all Nobel Prize? Answer: Because Jerusalem is the apple of God's eye and the Jews are his chosen people.

Total number of Jewish Laureates: 49
You realize, Francismarion, that if you want to take credit for Nobel prizes won by "Jews", you logically have to take credit for some of the worst mass murders, traitors, thieves, manipulators, warmongers and profiteers the world has ever seen.
If you count the Kristols, Cohens, Kagans, Madoffs, Milkens, Boeskys, Lanskys, Krauthhammers, Kaganovichs, Yagodas, Berias, Morgenthaus, Rothschilds, Trotskys, Mandelsons, Perles, Rosenbergs, Pollards, Feiths, Rachmans, Staviskys, inter alia, you would reach a number much in excess of 49.
Preferably, you should keep your ugly racism and supremacism to yourself. Other people may feel motivated to pay in kind.
Ugly racism is alive and well on ZH ...I'll cite your name "Shylockracy" as an example. It is obvious that most of the bigoted rants I've seen are directed AT minorities - particularly Jews. To say that there is any negligible amount of pro-Israel "Jewish supremecist" talk on this blog is simply disingenuous. I'd prefer that you keep your ugly racism off this site so we can actually get back to what made ZH interesting to read - historical analysis and macroeconomic commentary, of which you are contributing neither.
You forgot Dr. Ruth Westheimer... just another aspect of the leading edge of Jewish intellectualism using America's children as throwaway experiments.
The smallness of your effort almost escaped me. Is that all ya got?
If you are suggesting that Dr. Ruth, now a “historian” and the modern face of Zionism, is not the final expression of negative Jewish impact on civilization…you would be spectacularly correct. If I am anything, I am accommodating. So I’ll just add a little more here. Thanks for asking.
Let’s begin with the Bolsheviks.
“The Bolshevik Revolution,” said a leading American Jewish community newspaper in 1920,” was largely the product of Jewish thinking, Jewish discontent, Jewish effort to reconstruct.
Winston Churchill, pointing to the crucial role played by the Jews in Bolshevism in an essay published in the February 8, 1920, issue of the London Illustrated Sunday Herald, warned, Bolshevism is a “worldwide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality… There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews… With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of the leading figures are Jews….”
A public opinion poll conducted in 1990 found that three out of four Soviet citizens surveyed regarded the killing of the Tsar and the family as a despicable crime. – The Nation, June 24, 1991, p. 838
One isn’t supposed to say it, but America sealed her fate when under the Clinton Administration “the White House, the Senate, and much of the American media” (and now the Legislature and ambassadorships and soon to be the U.S. Supreme Court) as the Israelis put it, is “in our hands.”
This statement came from Israeli columnist Ari Shavit in an article reprinted from the Israel newspaper Haaretz in the May 27, 1996 issue of the New York Times while reflecting sorrowfully on the wanton Israeli killing of more than 100 Lebanese civilians that April . Bill Clinton, “the lover of peace,” had raised no protest when the Israelis drove 400,000 innocent Lebanese out of their homes in “retaliation” for rockets launched into Israel, wounding one Israeli.
It is no surprise that Mr. Copley, in this chilling bellwether presage of the fate that is engulfing America, equates the damage done in the U.S. by the Obama and his Jewish-occupied Adminstration to that of the damage done by the 1917 Russian Revolution.
For Bolshevism is largely a Jewish product.
Summing up the situation at the time, Israeli historian Louis Rapoport wrote:
Immediately after the Revolution, many Jews were euphoric over their high representation in the new government. Lenin’s first Politburo was dominated by men of Jewish origins..
Under Lenin, Jews became involved in all aspects of the Revolution, including its dirtiest work. Despite the Communists’ vows to eradicate anti-Semitism, it spread rapidly after the Revolution—partly because of the prominence of so many Jews in the Soviet administration, as well as in the traumatic, inhumane Sovietization drives that followed. Historian Salo Baron has noted that an immensely disproportionate number of Jews joined the new Bolshevik secret police, the Cheka… and many of those who fell afoul of the Cheka would be shot by Jewish investigators.
The collective leadership that emerged in Lenin’s dying days was headed by the Jew Zinoviev, a loquacious, mean-spirted, curly-haired Adonis whose vanity knew no bounds.”
Robert Wilton, correspondent of the London Times in Russia for 17 years, in his foreword to Les Derniers Jours des Romanoffs, listed the members of the [Bolshevik Party’s] Central Committee, of the Extraordinary Commission [Cheka or secret police], and of the Council of Commissars functioning at the time of the assassination of the Imperial family.
“The 62 members of the [Central] Committee were composed of five Russians, one Ukrainian, six Letts [Latvians], two Germans, one Czech, two Armenians, three Georgians, one Karaim [Karaite] (a Jewish sect), and 41 Jews.
“The Extraordinary Commission [Cheka or Vecheka] of Moscow was composed of 36 members, including one German, one Pole, one Armenian, two Russians, eight Latvians, and 23 Jews.
“The Council of the People’s Commissar [the Soviet government] numbered two Armenians, three Russians, and 17 Jews.
“According to data furnished by the Soviet press, out of 556 important functionaries of the Bolshevik state, including the above-mentioned, in 1918-1919 there were: 17 Russians, two Ukrainians, eleven Armenians, 35 Letts [Latvians], 15 Germans, one Hungarian, ten Georgians, three Poles, three Finns, one Czech, one Karaim, and 457 Jews…”
Effective governmental power, Wilton continued, is in the Central Committee of the Bolshevik party. In 1918, he reported, this body had twelve members, of whom nine were of Jewish origin—Bronstein (Trotsky), Apfelbaum (Zinoviev), Lurie (Larine, Uritsky, Volodarski, Rosenfeld (Kamenev), Smidovich, Sverdlov (Yankel), and Nakhamkes (Steklov). The three Russians were Ulyanov (Lenin), Krylenko, and Lunacharshy.
Said Wilton, “The other Russian Socialist parties are similar in composition,” and he gives the composition...
@geopol
As a UK citizen I agree with your analysis on the Euro attacks coming from the US & UK banks but any attempts by any UK elite to get in bed with USA regarding an attack on Iran I think are doomed to failure.
Times have changed here and even though we have a conservative government their focus is on purely on auserity at all costs. They are talking about 25-30% cuts in military spending which will be coming in within 18 months. The trident renewal program at multiple billions cost is to be funded directly out of the military budget instead of seperate funding.
David Cameron is no poodle like Blair. He has already shown some independence of attitude which is needed to save the UK long term.
There may be a lot of talk and bluster coming out of the UK as well as elsewhere but when it comes down to it there is no money to go to war, the public will will not stand for it after Iraq and Afgahnistan.
The way Blair & Labour lied about the WMD to get agreement for war has left a lasting impression with the British people and they won't buy it if attempts are made to demonise Iran.
So the US of A will have to go and find a new poodle sidekick to help them fight their wars.
Shylock, your hatred is exceeded only by your display of an inability to rebut an argument with substance.
If I was really trying to impress anyone with Jewish humanitarian achievements I would have named ALL the Jewish Nobel winners. Google it.
THAT is impressive to anyone whose blindness has not led them into the ditch.
But I guess you can retreat into your list of Jewish bad guys. Let's start with Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God. Proceed to Cain. Proceed immediately to Cain. Do not mention Abel. Do not consider grace.
Shy-buddy, if you want to respond with an effective argument, you must either disprove one thing I have said or present a counter-example. Naming any number of Jewish bad guys does not detract one iota from the astonishing (to the open mind) disproportion of the Jewish contribution to improvement the human condition.
Can you name any other group that comes even remotely close?
Can't be done.
The Jews deserve our utmost respect, not only for their humanity but for their contributions to humanity.
The Jews deserve to keep their homeland. The US must remain a resolute ally to Israel. Peace must be made by sane people on the basis of equity and cannot be extorted. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Firstly, my moniker is Shylocracy, as in the rule by unscrupulous money-lenders with a psychopathic lack of empathy and a unique conviction they are doing God's work, even when they enslave, pillage, start wars and murder.
Now to your point, of course I cannot present a factual argument against your unfalsifiable premise that you are God's chosen and that therefore I should submit to your social engineering, profiteering, corruption and warmongering. I can only argue, again without proof, that if your God commissioned you to carry out this plan, well, he is rather like a psychotic lower entity resentful of anything that might be might be truly beautiful, human and well, godly.
Now back to your crazed supremacism and hatred of humanity:
Yes, actually, much more impressive to world history: Chinese, Hindus, Germans, Japanese, Assirians, Sumerians, Persians, Hitites, Mayans, Arabs, French, English, Scots, Italians, Romans, Portuguese, Spanish, Indo-Aryans and many others.
In your crazed racism, you do not realize that throughout history "Jews" have only thrived and persisted thanks to the special protection given to them by Christian and Islamic rulers. It is true Christians countries have expelled the Jews some 79 times in the last 1700 years, but this should be no surprise for a "people who shall dwell alone" and whom the mere thought of eating food touched by Goyim is abhorrent.
In any case, it is not up to me to wake you up to the fact that Zionism is the biggest enemy of the Jews, and that the demise of Zionism will most likely lead to unspeakable suffering to all Jews, even those who did not participate in that great crime. We have come to a point where Zionists like you can no longer define the parameters of legitimate discourse, as it was the case in Western as well as Soviet "democracies" throughout most of the XXth Century. You have lost your monopoly on victimisation, and as the ruling caste of the American Empire, you will have to be able to stand criticism in a civil and decorous way or be jettisoned as unfit for the privileges and responsibilities derived from power. You just cannot be a Ruler of nations and keep the cosyness of an Iron Age tribe.
The Jews took the Negev desert and turned it into a garden by spraying it with a tar-like substance to stabilize the dunes and then planting it.
Compare and contrast.
At Shylockracy,
At first I thought your indiscriminate listing of ethnicities without explanation revealed the poverty of your thought process. Particularly since your effort was clearly (unsuccessfully) intended to answer my post. You did not list any modern achievements, nor adjust for humanitarian application as I did. And you completely overlooked the most salient point of my argument, the statistically miraculous disproportion of population size to achievement.
Especially laughable was inclusion of Sumerians (ziggurats and clay tablets, I suppose).
Then you launched you tirade against the iron-age tribe and I understood. You cannot assert a logical positive position because your whole thesis is based on an irrational motive, hatred.
Jews in Europe were expelled how many times, shoved into ghettos how many places, subjected to pogroms at the cost of how many innocent lives and yet almost in the same breath you say they were a protected class?
You cannot rebut with facts or logic because there is no rebuttal. Your logical mind must accept the reality that the Jews are a chosen people. Their history is proof. Soon we will all see that with perfect clarity.
You have some learning. But based on your postings I have read, I believe you fallacies are the product of a spiritual deficiency, not intellectual.
It is not too late. Fall on your knees. Repent. Ask for the forgiveness that flowed from the body of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary. Seek God's face. He will hear you. He will forgive you. He will restore you.
Take your anti anti-semitic rhetoric and stick it where the sun refuses to shine. America is supposed to be about freedom; and yes, that includes hating war mongers, peace mongers or whatever floats your boat.
In your case, you hate freedom. That's your right; but I wouldn't flaunt it.
You cannot rebut with facts or logic because there is no rebuttal. Your logical mind must accept the reality that the Jews are a chosen people. Their history is proof. Soon we will all see that with perfect clarity.
What is happening soon - that we will all see the Jews as God's chosen people, Francis? Is it some sort of event?
Answer to your first question, Yes. Answer to your second question, Yes.
I possess no hidden knowledge, I have simply accepted what is offered to all.
When will it be? Read the Holy Bible.
What will it be? Read the Holy Bible.
But the right of Israel to exist does not rest solely on the Scriptures.
The largest part of my argument on her behalf is based on law and logic and secular history and America's national self-interest.
There is no logical argument that can be made refuting my argument. Most here do not even understand what an argument is.
They are more interested in hyping videos that purport to represent Israeli misdeeds, to the neglect of the context they occurred in.
Some misapprehend the historical events and actors that have brought us to where we are.
Others are simply raging haters.
I wish them all well but I will not spare them a rigorous examination and explication of their effort's defects.
Actually, Francis
It's you who seem to be the raging hater. you seem to hate everybody that does not bow down to the divine supremacy of some iron-age, penis-mutilation cult.
It reality, Nations, countries, religions and races do not exist. They are merely a human abstraction or concept, if you will. Kind of like our economy that as everybody so befuddled about(concepts that are breaking down). Evolutionary biologically speaking we all derive DNA from a couple that was alive 175,000 years ago in africa. So, in reality, we are all the same tribe. Still some want to dehumanize others who they think are different. Let me give you a little hint. Groups of people that take painstaking steps to prove they are separate from all of humanity are not doing the world any benefit.
As far as I know no one wants you to become a Jew. As a Christian I venerate the roots of my faith and seek to share it. The rest is up to you.
As a Westerner I discern the differences between the Islamic sharia law and a modern code of secular law in a Western nation, Israel, for example.
Each of these sets of laws is the product of a particular civilization. Do you believe in laws? Do you believe in civilization? If not, we have no common ground. Rest assured, they are real. A tribe must have both.
One of these sets of laws forces women into a subordinate position, punishes non-believers and oppresses minorities. The other is based on Judeo-Christian ethics. The differences are profound.
If you believe in laws, which is more humane, sharia or secular western laws? Remember, you do not divide people into nations, races or religions. So whichever you choose will apply to you. Be sure you understand the difference. You can't say one is ok for someone else but not you, because, remember, you make no distinction between peoples. If it is good for someone else, it has to be good for you.
Choose carefully.
Since you believe there are no nations or races, religions or countries, I have tried to speak only in terms of culture, although it is difficult to describe different cultures and their artifacts without using some terms that challenge your premise. But I hope this helps. :/
— Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. Present in New York City on 9/11 and London during the 7/7 subway bombings.
That doesn't sound like him. If he thought it, he's too smart to say it.
But I'm sure no one would create a false quote, would they?
That's why the strongest argument is the one based on logic and demonstrable facts, not heresay.
That's why you don't get it, Shy: The old methods of propaganda don't work here. They are exposed for what they are.
Your irrationality on the subject at hand, cannot cope with a rational debate. Hate is not an argument.
Keep trying, though.
I'm not working for Bibi.
Uh huh. First cultures which subjugate women are older (less westernized) cultures. Usually they are economically weaker - and when people are economically weaker their rights are usually taken from them (read: women forced into comprimising situations). Islamic tenets if anything, from the outset gave rights to women. So women are venerated in Islamic thought, and in no way a subordinate position.
Punishes non-believers. Uh huh. Hardly, under an Islamic state non-believers pay tax (called jizya) and so do Muslims (called zakat) 2.5% is automatically not yours, it is for society. If you want to say punish - why don't you speak about the debt bomb/tax bomb that is imploding western civilization right about...um ...now.
Again on a facts basis, the gulf of your understanding of about what Islamic thought says is evident. "The differences are profound" is absolute hog-wash.
The most malevolent disaster force for inequality imo is interest. It is literally the modus operandi to take down a society. If the US people owned their central bank and curtailed their spending they would probably have no need to pay taxes. Instead we have injustice of the highest order.
"President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad chose Saturday to tell a meeting of university professors of plans to shoot satellites to altitudes of 700 km, then 1,000 km -- certain to add to Western concerns about Iran's development of missile technology."
First nuclear reactors... now satellites... we have to stop these people before they fully develop cable-TV capability.
Thoreau, Shut up is not an argument.
To the myth that the US invaded Afghanistan unprovoked: The Taliban domiciled Alqaeda after 9/11,
To the myth that the US invaded Iraq unprovoked: They were in violation of a cease-fire, shooting at US planes; WMD? TBA.; Arming and supplying Palestinian terrorists attacking Palestine; Bombing Kurds.
To the myth that Iran is not aggressive: road-side bombs killing our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan; agents stirring up Shiites in Iraq and Afghanistan; arms sent to US opponents in Iraq and Afghanistan; arming Syrians and Hezballah against Israel; sending shock troops to Lebanon; arming Venezuala, sending agents to Venezuala to prepare attacks against US; building nuclear weapons in contravention to its IAEA commitments.
It is a war. It won't end if we just pull back.
Closing your eyes will only make it worse. Make your views known to your representatives. America must not run. A moment's peace bought at the cost of a greater threat is like borrowing money to pay for groceries and gas for the car. Wake up!
It is true, the Taliban domiciled Alquaeda after 9/11 and they were even ready to hand them over: maybe this is the true reason why G.W. and his administration invaded started the operation, to prevent this to occour?
If the US invaded Iraq because of chease fire violations I expect Lebanon to invade Israel any time soon... As for WMD, do we all recall mr. Colin Powell statements before the war and his statements after the invasion? Just to name the first example coming to mind...
This is not to say that both Saddam Hussein and Ahmadinejad aren't nuts, it's just to say that it is not our business to mix in the respective's nation internal problems.
The only myth about Iran is that they are "building nuclear weapons in contravention to its IAEA commitments" I expect your Colin Powell like conversion on the way to Damascus once some President will say "mission accomplished" (not that it would be that piece of cake like the 24 hours of Baghdad race the invasion of 2003 was, i fear)...
BTW one cannot fail to note that you blame on other rogue states the same actions the USA have done countless times to impose their own agenda to the world... oh! I forgot! We are the good guys! How stupid from me...
To the myth that Iran is not aggressive: Arming rebel faction in Yemen to attack central government and Saudi Arabia.
Public opinion is changing, as evidenced by this interesting article by Gilad Atzmon:

JR: I am glad you stopped beating up on that little old lady, Dr. Ruth.
I am here now.
So Jews were Bolsheviks? Some of them from what I hear were Nazis.
Jews are notorious or celebrated for being overrepresented in almost every intellectual field. Simply because they are blessed (what a striking word-mark that!) with inordinate powers of mind.
As such, JR, why should anyone be amazed that Jews were top-heavy in the Bolsheviks? They sure are catching a rough time of it in Russia now. But that's another story.
Is it your contention that a nation or ethnic group bears the onus for the sins of their forebearers? Think a minute before you answer. That covers a lot of ground.
If not, why single out the Jew? Their crimes through history are documented since Genesis, they aren't shy about hanging out the family wash. Why not let's condemn all nations as murderers if you are assigning historical guilt. There are, you know.
What will be the statute of limitations on their crimes? Surely the people of Israel should not pay for these crimes, any more than the guilt for the frequent nineteenth century pogroms in Russia should be shouldered by the Russian people today.
But if you do contend that the Jews have some responsibility for what happened in the remote past, why just them?
Do you have a special animus against the Jew?
There are several varieties of this virus, what is yours? Do you love the Russians so much? You should hate the Germans and Swedes and French and Mongols and Chinese and Japanese and Americans then, and quite a few others as well but let's stop there?
You deserve it, but I'm not going to call you Israel hater. That is the burden you have placed on yourself. I hope you can unburden yourself of it eventually. Time is of the essence.
