Iran Shows Off Mass Graves Prepared For "Aggressors"
A video being hosted by Iranian FarsNews Agency (google translated here) shows mass graves that have been dug in the province of Khuzestan (located closest to Iraq and Kuwait) that are destined for Iranian "aggressors." It appears Iran is actively preparing, at least in the form of TV propaganda, for what at least from its own perspective, is response to an invasion. If any of our readers have a better proficiency with Farsi, we would be curious to understand what the Imam says in the beginning of the video, although based on the context we have a vague idea.

Firstly, I agree that unconditional support for Israel (by the US in this context, I presume) is stupid.
I'd also like to point a few things out, based on my limited knowledge and understanding:
1. Supporting "Israel" unconditionally effectively means supporting whichever government happens to be in charge. Right now, this is a probably one of the more "right wing" governments for a substantial period of time. Regardless of who's been in charge, the settlements seem to have continued, ruining credibility at the negotiating table - stupid stupid stupid.
2. Israel != Jewry, nor necessarily even Israeli's generally. (My idea of how to spend holy days in Israel, not likely to be supported by orthodoxy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m9Kzce9NlA )
3. It's worthwhile knowing how an organisation defines its purpose & "enemies":
3.1 Fatah's objectives are "complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence". Peace is possible if these are your aims.
3.2 Hamas is not a movement against a system or even only Israeli's broadly (complicit?) but non-Muslims and Jews especially. Google for their 1988 charter, from which I quote:
"the Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!"

I struggle to see under what circumstances this group would accept peace (not just from this quote - read the majority of their texts). They claim Palestine et al to be "religious battles", and seek to pit Muslims generally against Jews (and others) generally.
Accordingly, there's a vast amount of fear on the Israeli's side (and outside of Israel, Jews generally) because of how Hamas and other Sayyid Qutb-influenced groups (e.g. Al Qaeda and the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood) define the enemy.
4. "Suicide bombers" is a poor translation for how the actors within these groups view their actions. Intentionally killing oneself is haraam, a major sin and strictly forbidden, but these groups have managed to re-contextualise the bombings as "sacrifices" and therefore not suicides subject to religious disapprobation.
5. I strongly believe that the only way to make progress in the region is to try find some kind of alignment between the more moderate Palestinian and Arab world groups and leaders and the Israeli government (even if those involved see it as a necessarily evil) to try deal with the two key issues: Israeli's need for security in the face of the above and the Palestinian's need for a life free of occupation.
(Of course, this presumes that one believes that Israel has a right to continue to exist or even if so, that it *should* continue to exist or whether the world is willing to deal with 4m+ Jewish refugees, again in less than a century.)
