Ireland About To Turn Violent? Sinn Fein Protesters Try To Enter Irish Government Buildings

Tyler Durden's picture

Headlines flashing that according to RTE, Sinn Fein protesters are now trying to enter Irish government buildings. As always, someone please keep an eye out on Waddell and Reed. It's one of those days. And with stub quotes now eliminated, limit buy orders at $0.00 will be honored.

Will bring you more as we see it.

Good for them! The Irish people and all other people need to show no matter what BS deal their bankster overlords made to enslave them, it will not be tollerated.

Sinn Fein is good, but why don't they bring their armed branch (i.e. the IRA) with them? Time to do a little coup. The government is disorganized and bankrupt. Just sayin'.

Obama would invade if the happened.  Obamas banksta friends would feel threatned.    I don't think the IRA army council still exists even.

Ireland doesn't have nukes, so you're right on this point. A military invasion would be more than probable.

If Ireland had nuclear weapons, then a foreign military intervention would simply be impossible.

Beyond being a ludicrous tangent to this discussion, why on Earth would the USA care?   The EU generally, sure, and the UK probably most acutely, but Ireland is not a NATO country so what interest would prompt the USA to intervene?

And your argument that having nukes would make military intervention impossible - completely backward.   If Sein Fein (and/or the IRA) had a potential to gain access to nukes that would give the USA a reason to care, and hence would infinitely increase the odds of military intervention.

They are probably more direct and ballsy than to let the bankers up their salary & bonuses at this point.

Our leaders are trying to make us insane.

Q: How do Gov. workers and bankers keep getting raises?

A: The recession is over, so they say.

$113B in US bank exposure?

Nah.  Obama is not going to shed a tear for the banks - he's already paid too high a political price for helping them - and $113B is just insignificant in this bizarro "new normal" world.

A  successful coup might give people elsewhere ideas. Bankers hanging from lamposts might give people elsewhere ideas. Ireland is the perfect microcosm.

But yeah, I fail to see where the US would come into it. Shirley it would be the British Army.

they're digging up all those guns and stuff that they forgot where they buried when the troubles were officially over. they would probably be able to borrow some from the other side if they have finished finding theirs.

Perhaps not entirely useless if it scares the MLA's into VOTING DOWN THE BAILOUT.

I mean if they vote it down the entire planet is going to rise up in one giant cheer.

One small step for Ireland one giant step for debt repudiation.

It doesn't seem that much came of the Greek protests; French either for that matter.

What leads one to believe this one to be different?

I'm guessing the bailout cash will make it to the banks, austerity will be claimed, fabricated and ignored and the Irish corporate tax rate will stay the same, keeping the big boys transacting as always.

Seems again to be much ado about nothing.  Soon enough there will be headlines on Portugal with the same results.

That took long. These folks have not seen nothing yet, they did not spend centuries fighting for their independence and endure a civil war just to hand it over to foreign nations bankers simply because they have suits and silver forked double speak. Ireland is the last stand for the bankers. Ireland will not accept a bailout

Still, would be funny if the common US citizen was given a choice between joining their distant cousins overseas to fight the bankers and taking a tour in Iraq/Afghanistan to take a few easy shots against insurgents running back footed, added to that the promise to get free healthcare, free tuition, veteran status?

About time someone stood up.  Its time for the Euro to go, time for the EU to go.  Let Europe burn!  maybe the European people will finally fight for themselves rather than at the behest of international banker's profits as they did in WWII, WWI, etc.

We need a new money system, one not controlled by private bankers.  The people can easily retain the control over this important function.  I pray every day the European grow some balls and stand up so it may serve as a model for us pussy Americans.  If we see Europe burn and emerge stronger from their ashes perhaps we can give up mindless reality TV and do something for us and our children.
