Tyler Durden's picture

After hours of debates, the moment appears to have come: the vote to pass the budget, aka the "save the European senior bondhodlers" vote, is on the table and voting should commence imminently.

I hear faint gurgling sounds...like sovereignty being strangled.

Taking from grannies for the uberrich bondholders' holiday feasting.

Go ahead, lackeys.

Chorus:

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, sure 'tis like a morn in spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter you can hear the angels sing,
When Irish hearts are happy all the world seems bright and gay,
And When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, sure, they steal your heart away.

Verse 1:

There's a tear in your eye and I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such power in your smile, sure a stone you'd beguile,
And there's never a teardrop should fall,
When your sweet lilting laughter's like some fairy song
And your eyes sparkle bright as can be.
You should laugh all the while and all other times smile,
So now smile a smile for me.

(Chorus)

Verse 2:

For your smile is a part of the love in your heart,
And it makes even sunshine more bright.
Like the linnet's sweet song, crooning all the day long.
Comes your laughter so tender and light.
For the springtime of life is the best time of all,
With never a pain or regret.
While the springtime is ours, thru all of life's hours,
Let us smile each chance we get.

(Chorus)

Mere propaganda. More a hit on Eurozone than an assessment of Iceland's situation.

Iceland engineered their own crisis to benefit from it. Their manipulation  of the Krona was their solution to cope with the consumption issue they had by living at the periphery of Europe.

They also designed an exit plan as they knew perfectly where they were heading for.

Nothing new in their ways, save they got away with their tactics. Their cockiness might call back retaliation though.

I think we know how this vote will go down.  What is more interesting right now are Obama's comments per the tax rate extentions debate...which I thought was settled.  His comments are of a nature to encourage his own members to hold with him on the proposal to extend all of those rates.

His comments...sound like...triangulation.

Methinks our President has gone out and claimed he had a deal on tax rate extensions...when maybe...just maybe...he had no such thing because of members of his own party.

Let the triangulation begin.  Who wants to be the bag holder on this one?

God we wasted so much money on tosh and tat - we could have had a paddy moon base distilling whiskey with the unique taste of lunar regolith but for the amount of resources we eat to satisfy our irrational wants and desires.

I want to embrace austerity as long as we don't have to give those paddy parasites one red cent.

But alas we are just too stupid.

I listened in earlier in the day to the debate in the Dail. I didn't catch the name of the Sinn Fein speaker but the man has passion and he made sense.

I was talking to one of my friends in Ireland the other day and while he doesn't understand how it happened but he does know it's the bankers and the politicians who are a fault. He knows the pension system is being raided etc.

He works as a security guard and is more informed about what's going on than most of the biz graduates on this side of he world. So I am optimistic come Jan.
