Israel Vows To Retaliate Against Monday's Attack, Blames Hamas
Just in case you missed the strategic implications of the prior post, here is some breaking news from BNO: "Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said that Hamas was responsible for the rocket attacks last Monday and that the Jewish nation will retaliate."
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (BNO NEWS) – Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said that Hamas was responsible for the rocket attacks last Monday and that the Jewish nation will retaliate.
“Don’t test our determination to protect our citizens. Israel will retaliate for every assault. Whoever shoots at Israeli citizens, and it doesn’t matter from where, we will find them and hit them hard,” Netanyahu said during his televised speech.
Earlier, Egyptian officials revealed that the attack that the Red Sea ports of Eilat, Israel and Aqaba, Jordan were fired by Hamas militants from Egyptian territory. The rocket attack killed one Jordanian taxi driver and caused structural damages.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri criticized the Egyptian claims. “This sounds silly and does not depend on any actual reasonable evidence,” he said. “We doubt the credibility of these statements and believe they are unprofessional and politically motivated.”
According to the Egyptian report, Hamas operatives snuck from Gaza into the Sinai Peninsula to fire the rockets in an effort to conceal their responsibility and appear as if the attacks were perpetrated by an Egyptian terror group.
“Over recent days we’ve witnessed three attacks against Israel. I want to make very clear to Hamas and to the Lebanese government that we view them as responsible for the violent provocation against us,” the Israel Prime Minister added.
Egypt and Jordan are the only two Arab countries to have full peace treaties with Israel. The ties were tested once again after the latest rocket attacks. Egypt initially denied that the rockets came from its territory meanwhile Israel was certain that they came from the Sinai Peninsula.
Several terror groups operate in the Sinai, trying to smuggle arms into the Gaza Strip. Among the groups operating in the Sinai are those with links to Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaida and other global Jihadi groups.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that Monday’s rocket attacks were meant to embarrass Egypt as its borders are not as heavily guarded as Israel’s.

This is not about changing minds. It is about exposing a very large group of people to other folks' points of view. I have obtained quite an education from those very few folks considerate enough to actually give information regarding their point of view. There are others I could no doubt learn from as well, but they seem to be stuck on rant rather than educate.
I am sad to see genuine grief expressed here at the loss sustained by the Palestinian side. I am doubly sad to see that those grieving seem to be genuinely unaware of the primary motivation that is responsible for their loss - that is, the ferociously-held desire by the powers that be to drive Israel into the sea. I have yet to see any discussion (not ranting) here about what things would be like if that desire to drive Israel into the sea did not exist.
To those who are saddened by the plight of the palestinian - do you care enough about his plight to help him by demanding the removal of those in power who wish to push Israel into the sea - and see what happens? Unfortunately, I think the standard answer to my question will be - if we did that, Israel would just kill more and more innocent palestinian babies. Not much I can learn from that response.

Generally I stay out of these debates, but if you are "sad" to see that people feel grief for the loss of innocent Palestinians, quite often children, then you have nothing to teach me nor I you. If you lack the humanity to accept that the loss of any innocent life---Moslem, Jew, Christian, Pagan, whatever--- is a loss to us all, then you can expect no one to care for anything nor anyone you hold dear. The mere fact that someone of your ilk exists tells me that the problem in the Middle East will never be solved.
Bad choice of word on my part?? I empathize with those who are closer to the loss than I am. The loss is staggering, and I can't begin to imagine what the Palestinian folks in the line of fire are going through. My empathy lies with the people who are being used as pawns in the political game.
