It Is "Do or Die" For The Vampire Squid
One wonders what the boys at Goldman are up to these days. Should they upgrade their own stock? Should by buy GS call options with a margin loan from the Fed? If the market is going to break any higher, Goldman's stock better turn around, otherwise, thousands of Prop Desk traders are going to liquidate in order to "lock in the year" and retire until January 3.
Once again, the market shakes off the Dubai problems and grinds back up to the highs. What do you think Goldman is doing? Surely they are not used to their stock sitting in the "back of the bus" while other sectors such as gold, office supply, and Amazon related stocks rocket to new highs.
Maybe Blankfein will be the next one to run over a fire hydrant in his front yard. Anyone have a clue what kind of vehicle he drives? Maybach? Bentley? Rolls?

And what mistress will claim "over 300 documented e-mails, photos, and at least 20 sexual encounters" when Blankfein fails to talk to the media?
My bet is that Becky is probably the mistress. Always has that "smirk" on her face, as if she has numerous "options" available to her in case Comcast decides to blowtorch the whole staff or shut CNBC down.

Anyone else notice how Faber, Kernan, etc. were squirming this morning when talking about the NBCU/Vivendi/Comcast deal? Becky was calm and relaxed. And smirking. As if she had nothing to worry about. She's definitely got a Wall St. Titan in her back pocket.
.....................
I can't think of anything else to talk about, other than it seem to be the same boring tape, day in, day out.
The movement of the SPY, USO, DBA, GLD, etc. seem to be hogtied to the micro-tick action in the EUR/USD.
Heard that a couple of macro theme hedge funds are hanging it up today, unable to figure out what is going on in the economy vs. credit markets vs. stock markets. For now, it seems to be as easy as just following the EUR/USD meatball.
Arguably the largest, most important meatball on the planet.
How hard is that?

Goldman Sachs is bound to start kicking the meatball one way or another by a few strategic upgrades of some sectors which are beaten down:
- Its own stock
- Retail
- Airlines
- Oil Services
Who knows????

aapl, has anyone seen steve lately?
Is it just me? It is almost a certitude that Zero Hedge is a beard for Government Sachs/PPT to perpetuate a negative outlook on capital markets in order for the masters of the universe to continuously trap shorts, keep the public out of stocks until it is absolutely necessary for them to participate, and deliver disinformation. Tyler Durden is the head vampire, Llyod Blankfein, so my advice to you is do not invite him into your house because he will be impervious to any attacks and will suck the debased dollars out of your aorta!
Don't think I'd go quite that far, but the animus does contribute to the Cloward-Piven Strategy:

On the other hand, with algos doing all the work, there would be more time for trader hobbies.
But any smart "investor" knows not to trade on emotion.
Of course this is a Goldman setup. But maybe Beneka is in on it, is that his name, I heard him talk once about twenty years ago, it was nearly incoherent. Sounds like sound government to me.
Maybe the weakness in GS is because it was served with SUBPOENAS:

Some of the China stocks were rockin' again today, with a little profit-taking in the power hour. HMIN, CAAS, CGA just to name a few. Feels like they may be getting a little top heavy ???
People need to be careful emailing sexy pics to their girlfriends. Especially if she is a playboy model looking for publicity, and you're a sexy baseball player who almost went 40/40 in 2008.

OT: Don't you love how the EPA is considering gasoline consisting of 15% ethanol when every underground natural gas storage facility in North America is stuffed full?
Yea, let's go plant some corn, drown it with fertilizer, and lower the aquifer level to keep the stuff growing. That's the ticket.
What a bunch of inept morons.
It has electrolytes!
+1000
;)
i'll see your +1000 and raise you +1000 ... crack me up
That's some funny stuff there . . .
"Yea, let's go plant some corn, drown it with fertilizer, and lower the aquifer level to keep the stuff growing."
And then pass a law banning normal phosphate-content dishwashing detergent, and other similar household products... to leave only low-phosphate junk that doesn't clean anything as the sole option for individuals.
Concurrent with the ban on lawn watering.
p.s. It wasn't really OT Ponzi, as traders (presumably GS TD) are all over the ethanol names - see GPRE, BIOF, PEIX, etc...
hey, I don't want any negative words about ethanol. Anytime someone can divert corn from the food chain to alcohol is doing the lords work. We just have to get it out of cars and into bottles where it's meant to be.
BQ is not for me at all. But a DQ vanilla shake she is!
And, it appears that comcast has fallen for 'content' and I am wrong. I say good f-g luck to them, comcast. I say they are dead wrong on this buy. The public is abandoning networks by and large, will continue to do so. The peacock is hamstrung, mixed I know....what is there that we care about even a little? SNL hahahahah. And Cn and Ms are pathetic. Faber sould go to a place where he can really be good journalist. Phheh!
Faber has little to worry about, in fact, this may be the motivation that he needs to get off his ass and live up to his potential.
Kernan and "Taco Bell Dog" Quintenia on the other hand. Well Taco Bell wil probably be OK, But Kernan is F'd....as is Mark "Whiskey Boy" Haines, Erin "the Idiot" Burnett, Michelle C-squared, Krudlow et. al.
However, I do look forward to Merisa Rhee opening up her own 15-minute Happy Ending parlor. I'll be first in line.
Maria "Fart-A-Roma", she's F'd as well....hence her attempt to move into Suzie Orman's strangle hold in the finance self help arena....good luck with that you fat Pig.
Speaking of over-age fat pigs, Sue Hair-ball may as well hang it up as well.
Dust blowing grandpa Bill "old douche" Griffith exited stage left last week on a one year sabatical....hey Bill you useless old f**k, just make it 20 years, don't bother coming back.
F the rest of them too, Liesman, T-bag Regan, Dennis "Beaker" Kneale, Creamer, "Money Losin' Hedge-hog wanna be" Ron Insane, Tyler "old as f***" Matheson.....f'em all
Santelli, Bertha Combs and the other black chick are OK in my book.
Oh yeah, Melissa Francis....f-her too
Trader Joe, you nailed them. I hope the trap door to hell opens under their feet.
If the CNBC anchorwomen aren't going to add any value to the broadcasts (see- Michelle Caruso-Cabrera), is it too much to ask that they find just one who can squeeze into a size 8?
And Robo, as for Becky Quick, what exactly do you mean by pocket...
Please give my best to Alessandra.
Is that US or UK size 8 because if it's US 8, it's still fat.
Yes, size 8 US is still fat. I would prefer a size 4 (or smaller... I'm not picky), but said at least an 8 to emphasize the girth of current personalities.
You know more about these people than I do my 20 best friends. What do you do, sit around and look up their bios online all day? If they bother you that much, why don't you just turn the fucking TV off? Better yet, dump cable and buy a K-rand with what you're saving. You'll know just as much about things that matter as you do now and you'll have a little gold coin that you can always sell to the guy who thinks he's Gordon Gecko.
You make a good point.
who watched this shit more than once?
You must watch a lot of television.
Becky and Buffett get it on ... she knows she's got a cock to blow anytime she feels like it.
I think the sage might need the blue pill
Trader Joe I think you about covered the entire CNBS crew - excellent job.
What time is the Victoria Secrets show on tonight and can we replace CNBS with nothing but VS shows!
Becky "Quaalude" Quick is always calm and relaxed... that photo says it all
you rule BRA
Completely off topic, but I have always wondered why it is considered acceptable to relate a male to a piece of women's underclothing when you are in the middle of the ghetto. How many attempts were made with less than pleasant results before a nonviolent precedent was set? I suppose that I will never know the answer to either point.
I believe the term 'bra' as related to a male is a pidgin reference to 'brother' (bro) as often seen in surf movies circa 60s/70s. Probably from the pacific islands, esp. Hawaii, as is "whassup, bra?". Not the abbreviation of 'brassiere'.
Keep an eye on Chinese solar stocks:

Volume is picking up and they're rising even though oil prices were flat. Maybe they're anticipating big announcements next week at Copenhagen. Buy the rumour, sell the news? Or is this the beginning of a big secular bull run for green energy?
You sound an awful lot like a guy who's talking his own book. A secular bull run for green energy? That's funny.
Thanks for making me laff!
It is very simple, USA unhooks from China currency, declaring it invalid to trade dollars for whatever. Then renigs on debt, allowing anyone who can prove they might live here to get long term savings account in "new" dollars. Sounds fair to me. Hell we reniged on canal bonds and street railways and railroads and probably everything else, so lets start over.
One possibility on GS stock lagging is that they are supressing it. After all, it isn't money in their pockets directly, they get paid cash mostly, not stinking options. Those are so 2000. The upside, limited as it may be is to make people question if they really do own the Treasury. If maybe something is going to crawl out from under some rock and really cause them some pain. Certainly not but the question buys them just a little wiggle room in their losing PR battle. Not that the PR battle means much but now that they are all buying guns maybe more than I've suspected.
By all rights in this market GS should be a 400 or more. It's PE is like 14. 14!!!! It's insane. They have a licence to print money and even if the do give sockholders only a tiny fraction isn't that worth more than Amazon for God's sake? Trading at a PE of what, 100?
I trust Zero Hedge. There's another entity out there on the interwebs that predicted both the crash in September of last year (4 months in advance) and also predicted everything that's been going on since then - including the rebound in March of this year (once again, by several months). His name is Reinhardt and his website is:

RT,
What difference does it really make to the Squid that their stock price has slumped a little? It's good PR, they will be paid billions in bonuses, and the government simply cannot touch them.
Sorry, this is just another one of ZH's non-trader fans posting a stupid question. Could someone kindly explain the break in that 15 min EMA chart? It ends and then the very next moment starts lower, as if something happened in another dimension while everybody blinked. How is that possible?
I think that is from the thanksgiving day off, coupled with the dubai news release. Of course, I don't know anything about trading either, so take that with a grain of salt.
That break is known as a "gap down". This is the result of stocks bought and sold during afterhours trading (4pm to 8pm ET) and premarket trading (6am to 9:30am ET). The chart displayed by Robot is based on normal market hours (9:30am to 4:00pm ET).
Totally legal. However, beware the fun and games that take place afterhours and premarket.
GS restricted stock grants to be valued at year-end stock price, so they want it low to maximize shares granted.
blanky drives a tercel. I'm pretty sure I saw him trying to race a dodge neon at a stop light.
Meredith Whitney- 2 for 2 on GS
[Updated]
Hell, she called the top!
Oh yeah I forgot all about that. And Cramer was bashing her for that call. hehe. Anyone have a vid clip of that?
goldman may just be planning to go out with a bang, and the collateral damage will be engineered demolition.once you've sucked out all the juice you can get, blow a dark cloud, and make your escape. I don't see goldman around 5-10 years from now. most of the money goes to bonuses, not investor returns, and their level of risk to capitol is the highest of any tbtf, they're gonna blow up. just my opinion, what do I know, I lost money last year.
whenever the squid is mentioned I must once again roll out the vid-mashup where Korean Óld Boy'goes mano a squid! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9yvSmSGjNg
