It's 3:30PM - Do You Know Which HFT Has Hijacked Your Computer's Spare "Market Ramp" CPU Cycles?

Tyler Durden's picture

A day full of disappointing news concludes with the mandatory rampage that is sure to get all investors' confidence back in what is the most broken market ever seen by pretty much anyone. Anything less than a triple digit gain in the Dow and today's ICI outflow may be in the tens of billions. Or else the banks won't lend and the system will collapse. In other news, the US is rumored to be issuing High Yield bonds (at sub 5% rates) with which to fund a couple hundred trillion or so in direct "dividends" to US citizens (only those making under $250,000 and/or belonging to labor unions).

yeah, they are wringing every last dime out of this. tomorrow, the drop in the SPX begins to take out all the put holders for Friday.

I mean, you gotta absolutely fuck both sides, right? What's the point of the HFT, the insider info, the flash trading....all of it, if you don't maximize the bennies on both sides?

I have to question the wisdom of this line of thinking. Seems like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. It would be a stimulus check, not a welfare check. While I respect your integrity, it seems useless at this stage of the game. Everyone is looting the treasury and if I receive a stimulus check, you can bet your ass I'm gonna cash it. I'll then turn around and invest it in a liquid commodity. Feel free to send your check to me.

Similar to the wonders of compounding interest, the incremental compounding of insanity allows for the illusion that everything seems pretty normal, other than a few disturbances in the force now and then.

This is exactly how an entire world tip toes towards totalitarianism with barely a peep from the sheep. Feel the force Luke or feel the shears.

And we trust the Fed Chair, who not only oversees the world's largest gold reserve but does not know what gold is (it is monie), but mans the outpost of The President's Working Group on Financial Markets which acts as a private entity (as if the Fed could become more private) and in the best interest of the entity, to know what he is doing?  BS is a used car salesman, at best!

Phony Market on Display:

I'm not sure how to post pics here, hope this works...  The first picture is of an eight day rally (15 min chart) in SPY in 2004.  The second picture shows our eight point move over the last ten days.  Notice the buying in 2004 came during the day.  Not from the 'mystery buyer' in after hours that the present day reflects.

On the one hand you have 1290 pog evening price fix. On the other hand you have Japan dumping gold into market to devalue currency. We got the wrong hand.

LOL

I had a client in my office yesterday who has laughed in my face for over 4 years as I've tried to explain some of the hidden manipulations that move the markets. It was simply beyond his ability to imagine that his world view of sugar plums and a benevolent government could be so wrong. Needless to say, he's rejected my advice to purchase Gold and Silver over the past 4 years.

So guess who wanted me to buy Gold and Silver yesterday? And guess who said that he was beginning to suspect that the government was corrupt and the markets manipulated? Of course, since he came to the conclusion all by himself, now it all made sense.

Hey, whatever it takes, right?

The operative words here are "just before" and "sleeping passengers". The insanity has a long way to go so the train isn't now nor even tomorrow about to plunge into the abyss.

And while I agree you can't really wake sleeping passengers, not everyone is asleep. Many are simply dazed or seduced. Others are distracted. Be gentle, but don't waste your time on the ones that don't wish to wake. There are plenty that do if given the opportunity and encouragement.

I can built it, but I don't want to. What must continue to happen is the monetary civil war run through the political system. As more pain mounts, so will the tipping point of truth being stifled. Liberty is restored in this sequence: Truth, Freedom, Justice. These concepts are also the cornerstones of a Republic. Look at what banking is now openly talking about doing which is to eliminate currency altogether. Forces total supply chain participation, that is one heck of a big stick and it will back-fire in ways many here have already speculated on.

When I build an advanced trading system, it will actually be a supply-chain that all run towards. Attempting to bring down the micro-penny skim game just will make you fodder for the inevitable grand finale.

A win would be a supply chain that restarts growth and free market capitalism for the first time in history. For that, the Golden Calf must be decentralized and right now, banking will not listen until they are losing loved ones through the effects of war. It doesn't mean discussing or building specs isn't value in the interim, for what we all really want (and I do mean all of us) is for growth to resume. All the increasing pressure leads back up the base of the pryamid to the tip of it. And further, the world has begun its transition from the pyramid shaped management paradigm to the circular one of asymmetric information. Evolution will force the CB model to itself evolve. First they will use that big stick as I first mentioned...
