Oh I have. Remove the welfare/warfare state and this country rips itself apart. China is action packed with problems but they have a few tricks that can be used to rally the people, IE quick war with Taiwan or Vietnam. If China kicks out the floor of the dollar the only answer would be a quick default or print to make up for the wave of selling. I think the wave of selling might lock limit up a lot of commodities for a long time, and I'm willing to bet that social cohesion is lost well before $20 a gallon gas and milk.
Now if you are going to argue that infinite deficit spending for eternity is viable I'm willing to hear it. But eventually the planet is going to tell us to shove off.
